Future of this Football club. (13 Viewers)

I can honestly say for the first time in my life that as a City Fan i can't see a future for our club. Despite the fact we have been two administrations, the Northampton move and Various other crap, I have always believed that as a club we would survive.
Now while I realise that Sisu have been the makers of their own downfall, at the end of the day, they can't really lose more than they already have. Yet the Council, Alan higgs, CSF and Wasps all seem intent on letting the club die. It's gotten to the point that Sisu or no Sisu our club looks destined to die. Even if we were to get new owners would it seriously help our situation? We would still be stuck in a situation where we have no long term stadium- Especially not one where we can get access to revenues all year round, which any new owner will want.
While perhaps the clubs most appealing asset is about to be to downgraded, due to the loss of facilities, and spite from previous owners of the Alan Higgs Centre.
Finally, even with new owners, we would still have a council that is intent, on pushing threw this 'City of Rugby' bullshit.
Now I personally have never really got involved in the politics of the club. Especially not the court cases, as I only care about this club and hopefully it's return to the premier league. Yet I sit here reading the forum, and the Fan base is still divided, and trying to, 'see both sides'. Fuck both sides. We are Coventry City Fans, and we should and must be biased towards the needs and the future of our Football club.
At the end of the day, it doesn't matter Sisu or not we as a Fans are the ones which get shafted, if the club dies, Sisu would get the same result as if they handed the club over to someone else. £0. We as Fans need to dictate the future of our club now. The trust seriously need to step up, stop with the statements, as words are getting us nowhere clearly. The Fans need to rally behind one cause, stop arguing, and actually even if they don't completely agree with the course of action taken, at least get behind any movement created
For me, one important thing that I have noticed is that, there is no National coverage of what is going on, it's not been on sky sports, BBC sport or any football related site. Surely this is one thing that could be addressed? It's all good the news being in the CET or Observer, but the football community has proven over the years to be supportive of other clubs in dire need. I can guarantee most football fans have no idea what is going on at our club atm, but I can also almost certainly guarantee, most football Fans (barring sunderland), would offer support in some way or another.
While yes I know, these are just words, and I for one have done nothing as of yet to help the situation, the Trust or somebody needs to step up and organise something the Fans can support. I for one am tired of the fans being treated as pawns, while Sisu, the council, Wasps and every other fucking association involved, plays chess with OUR clubs future and even more than that the City of Coventry's future.

Think you are right, would be amazed if we have a football league club in 10 years time, we will either be non league or a footnote in the history books.

Like everything you say.

Accept I imagine if we did get new owners and they hadn't had years of conflict with the council and No bad history with Wasps or the Higgs Trust
I guess life might be a bit easier for the football club

I would be concerned for the sanity of anyone getting involved with them!

Totally agree mate. At the end of the day they are all to blame for this sorry state but at the end of the days its the club and fans who will pay.
Wasps are lke their name, parasites waiting to take over the corpse that has been killed by sisu and ccc. Dont let them and lets put up a fight jointly. No more bickering over whos to blame as their all guilty and intent on shafting us.

Totally agree with that. There would be many different scenarios if we had new owners: some may not even be good.

The point at which the Ricoh was sold to Wasps was the point at which I thought the future was incredibly bleak. As bad as things have been under SISU until that point any damage done was reversible. Once the stadium was gone it became a much bigger task.

Never imagined that, despite what they'd done, CCC and Higgs would go all out to completely destroy the club.

Can't see a bright future now. Nobody will be interested in a takeover, we'll either limp along, eventually ending up in L2 before dropping out of the league. Or in the not too distant future we'll cease to exist. Don't really see any other future right now.

What I don't get is if they wanted SISU out they could have done other things surely?

I agree with you though, the main thing is awareness and unfortunately when you speak to people they aren't too aware. A bloke I know not very well was talking one day and was basically just reeling over random things that were incorrect about the whole mess, some pretty outrageous things about SISU etc. I won't be the only person he has told that to, and they will have told other people.

If everybody could just think about CCFC (not fisher, not seppalla, not the council) and just send out a big fuck you to sisu, wasps, council, higgs, csf and just stand together for the badge, things might happen.

Had my fears from the moment they arrived that they would take over the academy and things would go bad. Was always the sliver of hope that it wouldn't turn out that way but in hindsight was inevitable.

I thought I was at rock bottom when we moved to Sixfields
Then I thought I was at rock bottom when the Ricoh was sold to Wasps
Now again I think I am at rock bottom after the events of the last few weeks

Will we ever reach bottom? Surely there can't be much more to be taken.

Other than the people on here, I doubt many people are clued up on it. They get there info. from other people or the Council Telegraph.

I agree with that to a certain extend. However, based on things that are still coming to light, it looks like nobody trusted the current owners before the Wasps deal was signed. So I guess in terms of visibility that may be the 'point of no return', but away from the public eye that point was probably much earlier.

It is just what people get to see.

For example if you read a telegraph article, then read the comments below it then you will think all sorts. A lot of people do just get their news from the Telegraph and they do read the comments. A lot of the time, the most vocal people are sometimes not always the most informed about things.

I don't understand why there hasn't been any interest in this by Sky sports or BBC?

I don't know, is it apathy?

As let's face it, whether it is to spite SISU rather than the football club. The club is being pushed out and destroyed, if this was Leeds it would be all over sky news. Then again no matter how much Leeds hate their owner I doubt their fans would stand for it :(

The other thing is that the mainstream places usually go to local media for a statement and info dont they?

I suppose that is right. Especially about Leeds fans not accepting it. There has been a surprising lack of response from our fans.

The club isn't going out of existence any more than at any point of Sisu's ownership. We still exist at their behest and they've shown no sign of tiring of us.

"Football Club Fucks Up Business Plan" is not a national scandal. We chose to tell all our business partners that we wouldn't need them soon, then wondered why all this competition suddenly shows up. If you say to your landlord "I'm moving out soon" don't complain when you have to tidy up for viewers.

Even if you accept CCC, Wasps, the CET and Highs are the four horsemen of the CCFCpocolypse, it's Sisu's job to navigate those waters. You don't run around screaming "I'm leaving amd you're all bastards" before you've done as much as a badger check in a new site.

This academy situation and the Butts threat sound identical to the Northampton rouse before it. Only difference is they've learned to play the right angles to get some fans onside. Promise a local tight ground, threaten the academy. But where's the action? We should always be asking where's the action.

In my job, if I go to my line manager and say I have a problem, their first question is "what have you tried?". What answer have Sisu given us there?

We are going to have to pony up some cash or strike a deal, but either way the first question to be answered is "what's the plan?". And then fucking follow through. And if the plan involves partnerships, however short term, start working on bridge building, not burning.

It's a pity the rugby season is over ... Pretty sure the only way to sort this is huge negative publicity for wasps ... Protests outside the ground protests inside the ground... Going on other rugby clubs forums and spreading the word...sod the sisu out banners ... Let's start with wasps out banners

I think they would hate it anyway, the amount of signups and interest in a thread on here saying to carry out action against Wasps gave that way!

Again with this? Blaming wasps for trying to be the best they can? Seriously, if Cov fans started doing that, then it just shows pathetic they are.

Maybe if the best CCFC can be is to move away, people would get behind it right?

Give it a rest. Somebody else who isn't actually interested in football but suddenly wants to come and defend wasps. Not a peep since last September when it was to just talk about Blaze. Might be best to just stick to watching blokes trying to pull each other shirts over their heads.

What you mind find is that people on a coventry city forum want to defend their club (not owners, councils or a random rugby club).

Pathetic, really, it's not just wasps being the best they can at all there playin on people's emotions and yes wasp do take blame, aswell as the other obvious party's involvement. But calling out cov fans as pathetic to try and stick up for something that we believe in ur totally wrong...PUSB

Okay, fine. If the forums very own Admin are going to be a typical football c**t, I request my account gets deleted. Maybe one day football fans will evolve past the neanderthal stage, but I very much doubt it.

Ah yes, a football c**t for wanting to defend the club I have supported for my whole life yeah?

Ironic really that you throw abuse about and then go on about football fans being neanderthal.

Honesty isn't ironic, it's the truth. Football fans hide behind the old excuse of "passion" because they fell for the oldest marketing trick in the book of making it "my club" just because it's got the name of your home town in the name.

At least other sports don't have this silly over the top attitude and nonsense reason to justify their behaviour and attitude. As I said, delete my account if that's the silly attitude that people insist on following. I'll stick to my "pulling shirt over each other's heads" sport. You know, the sport that actually does some good in Cov and isn't a laughing stock.

No, it is my club because it is where I went with my dad, where he went with his. Rather than the old move clubs in and out and change because they sound good.

Justify what behaviour? Calling people cunts because they disagree and Neanderthals?

So what point are you actually trying to make or what are you trying to achieve by going onto a football club website to mock football fans, slag the club off it's about and then when people answer back just throw a bit of abuse?

Surely, if you wanted your account deleting you just wouldn't login? Or does it not matter now you don't need to post about Blaze so much?

Can I just ask how long you have been a wasps supporter...and why you started supporting them

I didn't, you did first with insults to other sports. As I said, delete my account. Can't be bothered to deal football fans anymore that won't hear a word against their club.

I'm serious, delete my account.

Really? So you don't have digs at football fans on a football forum but can't have a little back? Neanderthals etc?

I don't get if you disliked football fans so much you would post on a football forum, I don't certain "groups" of people so I don't go on their forums.

What reaction do you expect when posting on a ccfc forum?

I'm not going to go on a religious website and start saying i dislike religious people, then flounce about when people disagree with me and give me a bit back.

What I said about the club does not warrant the response. I wasn't insulting CCFC, only SISU and saying Wasps are looking after themselves. If anyone thinks there's something wrong with that and think they should hurl abuse at me, don't complain when you get it back.

I'm not begging for my account to be deleted. I'm asking as there's no option on my settings.
