How many female managers are there? Wonder if that will be the next thing the push.
I just find it hard to believe that any club owner or fan doesn't want the best person for the job based on colour. If racism was as widespread as is being implied wouldn't it extend to players as well?
Do clubs really not pick the best person for the job because they're from a minority? I couldn't care less if we had a 2 headed purple alien from planet zod in charge if we were winning games.

Interesting you say that, following the succwss of the Rooney rule in NFL, they're considering bringin it in for females for executive positions. How many female managers are there? Wonder if that will be the next thing the push.

For me it defeats the purpose of what it is trying to achieve, if BME players are not going to get badges then why not, what is the root cause? Looking a city players through the years, we would have Dion, nuddy, hadji etc which none to my knowledge have gone down the coaching route?
If there is a genuine need then I am all for it but I don't think it's a major issue. The wider problem for me is the lack of talented British managers, I think look at this issue and reduce the foreign managers and this will open the door for all British managers regardless of ethnic background
Clearly there is a problem as they are not getting the jobs, sure that points to not being good enough?I disagree, I don't think there is at all a problem with the talent of british managers, I just don't think they get the opportunity. Big Sam has on numerous occasions made the point, that English managers are more than good enough, but big clubs don't like to take the chance. Here's a quote from him, “I won’t ever be going to a top-four club because I’m not called Allardici, just Allardyce.”. And i'm inclined to agree. If Eddie Howe hadn't been promoted with Bournemouth he would never have been looked at by a premier league club, despite how good he is at managing. I think there is a lack of faith in British managers, there is this idea, that they can't create trophy winning teams, or play nice football.

So clearly there is a problem then? Particularly if allardyce is our best hope.....Maybe that is your opinion, but to me there a number of highly talented British managers in the lower leagues that are not given a chance, because foreign managers are seen as a better option. I personally believe Allardyce is one of the best managers in the premier league, but the teams he's worked at suggest otherwise.
People like Mourinho, Klopp, Conte were all given chances by big teams in their home nations to make an impact. Mourinho at benfica, Klopp at Mainz, and then Conte worked his way up and then was offered the Juventus job. There have been a number of Vacancies at bigger clubs than Bournemouth this summer, and yet Eddie Howe, hasn't been linked with any of them? We in England don't give chances to British coaches, it's not them not being good enough.
So clearly there is a problem then? Particularly if allardyce is our best hope.....
Reminds me of that brilliant C4 series on the 80s. Can't remember the name of it now.

So when big Sam is our best manager? No argument needed budWhat is your argument for that? The problem is the lack of opportunity not the lack of quality, the same as with English players.
Clearly you have no argument, because you have nothing to back up anything. Because you don't rate somebody doesn't mean there is a lack of British quality managersSo when big Sam is our best manager? No argument needed bud
