Good to see TM understands the potential the club has......

“You have to remember that we are in League One and we have to understand that good players – the ones we’re looking at from the Championship – ideally they want to stay there and earn the money.

“But they understand Coventry is a club that has ambitions to get out of this division and if we can we’ll be a pretty big club.

“Their advisors will be telling them that they can sign for certain teams but Coventry is a good option because if Coventry get promoted they will be coming past a lot of those other teams because there’s potential for 20,000 fans.

“They are the decisions they have to make and I understand that and that’s why I am not pushing overly hard.”

20,000 fans?

Not 12,000 - 15,000?

Or even the 1,500 Grendel advocates by going to a non league ground with temporary stands?

Tony Mowbray, you are an idiot!! ;)

yeh you're right, those who advocate BPA clearly think 1500 fans is a long term thing.
Jesus, there are so many better arguments

The 1,500 wasn't the Butts though, that was the talk of us ground-sharing at a non league ground somewhere.

Well, we didn't 20K last season despite being top of the league.

It will take time to build the att figures up. Many on here only buy tickets in bundles and pick their games. Joe public will have to come to a few games and see what they like and gradually go to more games etc. Its a long process but if we can consistently perform and entertain people they will get up there like the missing 1000`s who vanished after the Gillingham game when we came back to the Ricoh.
Off the pitch issues need to be put to bed also as the publicity doesn't do us any good either.

Of course this is press speak.

I can really see a player being offered 5,000 a week by someone else and rejecting it for 4,000 a week here to play in front of 12,000 fans - not 20,000 - but even if it's 30,000 they will pick the highest,

How in earth do Bournemouth attract any players - surely they'd all come here.

But less crowds so surely less potential?

Ok Rotherham offer a player 8,000 a week we offer him 4,000 a week - where does he go?

To us. Rotherham don't have the means to offer 8,000. Unless you're talking rupees.

They are the smallest club in the championship but their turnover last year was far greater than ours and their wage bill was £5 million so it's very conceivable a Rotherham player would earn that.

Why do you think they wouldn't when they have massive income compared to CCFC?

I doubt whether many players think more than one season ahead.

Sounds like we may be on the verge of a significant signing.....and that's where my focus and interest is!

About time, the CT wasn't very inspiring this morning. Headline reads..
Coventry City step up efforts to re-sign veteran duo Sam Ricketts and Marcus Tudgay
