Simon Gilbert Announcement (20 Viewers)

I agree with the fact that CCFC will have to work harder. Problem as I see it though Astute is SISU, let alone CCFC, don't have a pot to piss in so no matter how hard the club and their owners work they will never be able to compete. Sisu are holding out for a result from either this or the next JR as their only means of making some money, their gambling again on our future and if they loose they will just walk away as the club is self sustaining at the moment. The cycle will never break until the litigation comes to a natural conclusion, were in Limbo until then or someone decides to take a punt on us and then its only if they want to sell.
The vast majority agree with this. Or at least should do. And it is what makes it worse about getting screwed over by Wasps.

You defend CCC. You defend Wasps. You defend CET. You try to blame SISU for everything. Yet you think that you have an unbiased view. Or at least say that you do.

OK, so you've decided to yet again ignore the other points I've raised and just gone with this one.

However, have a look through my posts and actually read what I've put, rather than seemingly skim reading them and trying to call me out about what you think I've said.

It'll save us both the time which is spent with you having got the wrong end of the stick trying to pick fault with my comments and you then you jumping to another point when I clarify what was actually said, then to another when I clarify the next issues you've tried to point out.

Didn't it turn out to be true?

I've not seen any information regarding the specifics of him being gagged.

He's said it happened and that all would be revealed in a book covering this and also the decline in investigative journalism within local press.

It is what is known as getting some of your own medicine.

You try to say others have said differently to what they have. You always want proof on what they say but rarely if ever give any from your own thoughts. So as you can see you are not the only one that can make posts that are full of shit :)

Shall we start again?

You say that you have seen no evidence on him being gagged. Does it not seem at least a little bit suspicious the way he won an out of court settlement?

Most of what goes on doesn't have proof. None of the sides have been truthful to us. That means you look for bits of evidence and not proof or undoubted evidence to help you make your mind up. And saying it isn't true because there is no proof won't get you anywhere.

Moree like he gagged when he was willingly eating bullshit !!

Mate, forgive me, but accusing a decent bloke you've never met or spoken to of spouting bullshit because it doesn't suit your little world view (one that involves you making money off a franchise club, let's remember) is pathetic. Reid won his tribunal against the CET, you might recall, and has consistently made the case that the CET surpressed reporting around things like the ACL bailout because of pressure from Coventry City Council.

As for all the other stuff that went on before and since, we've seen how much the Council cares about the club now - so you might want to rethink what you consider 'bullshit'. However, you won't, because you've got to justify your own grubby little business and like the Council you need Wasps and CCFC in place to maximise your returns.

I don't know about Les Reid, but it's patently obvious to me why you keep popping up here with your own brand of manure. So keep supporting Wasps mate, keep taking the cash they make you, and when the club's finally screwed by those you're making a few bob out of, don't come crying here because I (and I suspect many others) won't want to hear it.

Honestly, you make this so easy!

If someone makes a statement, presenting it as fact then people should just accept that?

I didn't say there's no evidence of him being gagged, I said "I've not seen any information regarding the specifics of him being gagged."

Also, he didn't win an out of court settlement regarding being gagged. He went to an employment tribunal the matters were resolved in his favour.

You last paragraph suggests it's OK to just take bits of what's been said and then just fill in the gaps with your own opinion.

You can only say something is true when you can demonstrate that, not just assume it is.

I base my opinion of him on his bias news articles. I don't need to know him.
He's like a Sisu spokesman
Plus he's like a few on this forum who keep bringing up the past but offer no way forward other than to bring Wasps down.

Ha you bring the past up all the time.

Which spokesperson are you then?

Didn't it turn out to be true? Ironic you said that though

Did it?

What I meant though, was what could stop him saying exactly what he thinks once he had left the CT? I would expect a principled journo to report whatever he wants. What stopped him doing that ? He's usually got plenty to say.

Perhaps part of the settlement meant he kept quiet? It's not unusual.

the decline in investigative journalism within local press
He's got a point there. A lot of local papers now have very small teams on low wages. They don't have the time or resources to really dig into things. Obviously there's the odd exception but the standard of local paper journalism does seem to be on the decline.

Think the CT is actually one of the better ones, the local Pompey rag is absolutely dire.

What I find really disturbing is that Italia seems to revel that we are supposedly up shit creek, though I still think we can get out of this abusive relationship with the council wasps RFC.
It so strange to see a fans delight that at the moment we are struggling off the pitch.

You really need to read my posts.
Point out where I take delight ?
You guys seem to forget the facts in the JR that I keep referring too.
The way out of this is not with Sisu. The fact I want Sisu out and their cronies TF etc has nothing to do with me hating the club.
I've stuck with the club for the best part of 50 years Sisu have been here less than 10 and TF and CA a lot less than that.
You guys stick with Sisu plans if you want but they are only going one way, downwards.
You guys keep on believing Wasps need to go first but it gets us nowhere. The fact that I think they are part of the solution does not mean I favour them over CCFC. I'm just being realistic.

Didn't spot the commissioned bit..

Has he spoken to any fans on here?

By commissioned is that paid by somebody to write it?

armybike

I see Simon was 'commissioned' to write the book, by whom?

Commissioned by the book publisher.

Commissioning is the agreement reached between a writer/publisher around what the book is about, expectations of when it will be written by etc.

It doesn't mean it's being paid for by CT, CCC, ACL or the London lot ;)
