Hardly surprising. Russia are a shambles of a team.

Finishing second would avoid Spain in the quarters I think.

We would avoid Spain (although I think it would actually be in the Semi's), but then we would be in the other half of the grid with Italy, France, and Germany all to contest sooner rather than later.

I thought the former would be better, but Spain looked pretty decent in their last game.

Not much urgency from England. Would have thought some of this side would be going all out to stake a claim to stay in the side.

What is it with England and keep shooting straight at the keeper?

I don't get Jordan Henderson at all. He obviously is a talented player but I just do not see it.

Clyne is playing really well, not much from the left however. Sturridgeplaying well but doing the midfielders job!

bit like the Russia game. plenty of possession but final ball too often poor.
Sturridge does have a tendency to hold onto the ball too long.

Too ponderous. Lacking invention. Slowing down play far too much.No zip.

Two worst players, Wilshire and Henderson. Missing Rooney badly I would say.

Only Clyne offering any attacking threat down the right. Bertrand offering nothing on the left.

Worrying aspect is our losing possession far too easily at times. Can see Slovakia getting something on the break.

Don't buy all this ITV 'England dominating' stance. We are rather impotent for the most part.

Henderson's delivery is awful, keeps giving the ball away or pumping it into nowhere. If Rooney were on we'd be winning this game, need a little bit more of a final ball. Sturridge is coming too deep to try and find the ball because we're not finding the ball through.

Knowing all this I bet we see Milner come on

Henderson falls short of international quality I would say. Does some great stuff, but then spoils it all with sloppy passing and poor crossing.

Henderson's dead balls are garbage. He either hits the first man or bypasses everyone. Does nobody actually ever bother trying to perfect the art on training?

Vardy and Clyne in particular are looking very good.

Slovaks are playing slightly more open than the Russians and the Wales did against us, they haven't had a chance of note yet but they look pretty sharp on the counter. They have the quality in Hamsik and Weiss to punish us if we overcommit

It is embarrassing to watch. As you say, he's crosses either not getting past the first man or is widely over hitting them into no man's land.

The worst thing about that is that England are dangerous from set plays, Cahill and Smalling are both good in the box so it's a waste every time Henderson jogs up to take them

Clyne best player by a country mile today.

No idea what is the matter with Wilshire. Lacking zip and energy and half the time just pointing and instructing players to pass to someone else.

Slovakia have to come and get us otherwise they are out, hopefully creates more spaces but are well known frail back four haven't been tested and I do not trust hart in goals.

No killer instinct tonight, midfield lacking creativity or width
