If thats the case Sick, you can hardly blame the referendum being the catalyst. There are idiots who hate foreign people, there is nothing anyone can do to change that behavior. Likewise, I dare say there are plenty of Brits abroad that get abused - they are, after all, "foreigners" too.
Nobody likes the UK anyway. Ample proof of that since they cashed in and turned Eurovision into a public vote.

It is already heading that way. The problem is that one size doesn't fit all. It doesn't even work with the Euro. The poor countries keep getting poorer and need more bailouts. The richer keep having to keep putting more money in. We may have one of the best economies in the world. But we are heavily in debt ourselves. And we keep borrowing more. So the money we are putting into the EU is borrowed money. Who is going to eventually pay it off? Don't worry. It will come down to our children, grandchildren and further
I know how countries economies work. It isn't an easy thing to get your head around. It is all run on debt. There isn't a bank to keep your own money. The world is run by institutions. And those countries that do not keep to the rules are left destitute. But their leaders are rich while the citizens suffer. It is only inflation that keeps it all going. If you deflate your own currency the debt becomes more manageable. But new loans become more expensive. If you run a tight ship you can get loans at times where the interest rates are below zero. That is because the money is seen as being safe.

It is bad enough being run by the EU and people never elected by us. Now you think it is a good idea to be run by a different country. And the odds are that it would be Germany. You can forget that one. I am 100% against being run by Germany through the back door. I am British. I am proud of it. I want to be run by people voted in by ourselves. It doesn't matter if it is who I vote for or not. Just as long as I get a vote.
Who has suggested that Germany rules Britain ( Grendel was on a wind up about Merkel )? You can easily be British and proud of it and a member of the EU. If...... It ever got so far that a president of the EU 'rules' via an EU parliament 500 million people, then he will presumably be elected by the most votes ever counted, and you count that as undemocratic?

My opinion was not that the EU should be reigned by one country.
Germany running the EU was just one of the big lies the Brexit campaign was feeding the people and unfortunately people were buying it.
All countries are equal regarding votes, vetos and propositions. What you make of them (or leave them be) is another story.
EU would work 100%, if you get rid of individual governments and make the EU a federal state system with just one parliament which is elected by all EU citizens, with same rights and votes for all of them.
As long as there are different governments, there always will be opinionated EU reigning with everyone just trying to get the best out for one self.
Of course I know that this won't happen, but that's why the EU will never be 100% perfect.

The most populated country in the EU is Germany. They have nearly 20m more people than the second largest which is France. All countries do not have the same say in what goes on.
So if all residents had the same say as you would like Germany would have the most residents to vote for their own people. The two people that seem to want this the most on here are Martcov and CCFC Germany. I wonder where you both live

Seems something strange is happening here in Britain, first Cameron goes against his promises and resigns immeadiatly instead of staying on as leader as he first stated!!! Then Bojo decided he's not running for leader when he clearly led the brexit campaign to achieve his ambition to become tory leader!! Then out of the blue Farage stands down.....this is not even mentioning the labour party leadership struggles, makes one believe someone may be manipulating the Brithish politacal landscape.

Germany does not rule the EU. They have the Same voting rights as we do. a president of a Federal EU would be elected as figure head of 28 countries consisting of 500000000 people, 80000000 of which are Germans. Even if you vote according to race and assume everyone else votes according to race ( not everyone is as racist as many leavers ), there is absolutely no way a German must win. The presidential votes on the continent go in stages so that there are only 2 main candidates to be voted for in the final ballot. The president would not rule per decree as a monarch anyway.

Germany's Vice Chancellor says young Britons living in Germany should be encouraged to take German citizenship as they obviously know more about the benefits of EU membership than " the snobish British elite".
