Exactly what is his position and age ? Seemed to be well regarded at one time

He's a winger, just turned 19 in Jan

Don't mind this, he was a young lad who was probably ill advised by his agent, no doubt leaned his lesson. Hope he gets his head down and earns a longer contract (if he's good enough).

Well he's a winger and we need one and at 19 if he ain't ready now he never will be, sometimes you can have a gem right under your nose, thinking Ronnies Rees there, let's hope this kid is. Wonder if TM will give him a squad number

not ready at 19 so never will be? Ask most top managers and they expect players to be challenging for first exam places at 21, exceptional talents come around at 18/19 some develop later.

Spence was offered a pro contract last year same time as the others but never signed it. Usually you have a period of 6-8 weeks to make a decision on a pro contract. I thnk he was offered a pro at Palace but he declined that aswell when he was a first year scholar. We then paid a good fee for him, he done OK in our U18s and then he declined our pro contract too. Not too sure who's advising him...

Every time this gets a new comment I expect it to say he has decided to leave or has had his contract terminated

Coventry City winger Kyle Spence hopes to prove he is worthy of an extended deal from now until the end of the season.

The 19-year old Academy graduate signed a deal with the club until the end of the season and made his first appearance of the season against Sheffield Wednesday in the Under-21s on Tuesday.

The former Crystal Palace Academy player impressed against the Owls and almost won the game for the Sky Blues with a spectacular 20-yard shot which was tipped onto the crossbar in the final stages.

Spence spoke of his delight to get back on the pitch for the club and hopes to prove to the management staff at the club what he can do.

Spence said: "I'm buzzing. I was delighted to get back out on the pitch for the club and I thought I did really well.

"I still need to get myself upto speed and I'm sure with more training and more fitness, I can do better than I did today.

"It's going to be tough as I am behind a bit but I've got 10 games to try and prove to the management staff here that I can do it.

"I thought it was a good start but I know I've got to build on that and keep pushing forward now."

The Under-21s next face Sheffield United at the Alan Higgs Centre on Monday and Spence hopes to take more confidence into the next game.

He added: "It was a lot about confidence and I realised in the second-half that I've got the beating of the defender so I did it more often.

"If I take that into the next game, I'm sure I'll be able to help the guys win games. It was good to be playing with the likes of George Thomas, Ruben Lameiras and Devon today as I enjoy it.

"Training has been really good and I'm getting on with Lee Glover really well as well who has helped me ease back into the club.

"I want to try and prove myself in the Under-21s, maybe get on the bench or play for the first-team and earn myself an extended deal at the club."

Has Spence signed an extension to his contract?

If so, for how long?
