Just reading an article about chris cattlin and getting some old heads together inwhich he said, "its easy to support a team that's winning every week but it's the clue to a great supporter when you can come when they are not doing so well".Well to right just wish more people of coventry would adhere to these words before they buy their man utd shirts.

I started to support Cov during the FA run in 87, guess that makes me a glory fan

Spider was one of the worst players to wear the City shirt.

RUBBISH comment from Kuklinski......indeed the team that CC played in won ten times on the road.......in 1970 - a club record. Some people don't half spout nonsense.

Well said dadgad. Spider was pretty decent, wingers only infrequently got round him, he was all over them, arms & legs everywhere, they were usually forced to pass back.

So you never saw him play, I can tell by that comment. I can still see his first game against Man U and certain Mr Best never got a kick, yes it was crap don't make me laugh

A few exceptions, but when you look at some of the cart-horses our supporters have rated over the years, is it any wonder I don't wish to be associated with the majority?

I think the term "legend" is probably the most mis-used term in football these days.

Anyone who once had a trial for the youth team seems to be a "legend", if you believe some of the hype.

Richard Shaw was a decent defender who played many games for us, always gave his all and would certainly shine in our current ranks - but legend?

Clarrie Bourton, George Curtis, George Hudson, Tommy Hutchison, Steve Ogrizovic - I reckon most would agree that they deserve the title, but I think after that we start to get into the list of "good (some very good) players who used to play for us".

Agree with that, legend is the most misused term, the player you mention are. Clarrie Bourton's record was increbable (no I'm not old enough to have seem him play :D) We've had many good players, the likes of Yorath, Rees, Humphreys, Wallace, Dublin, but legends not so sure.

Dublin kept us up year after year - so for me he's a legend - other players become legends because of their behaviour and style - Ernie Hunt springs to mind.
