Have I missed an academy update? (20 Viewers)

Whilst we await further news, I've found another email in the online planning portal regarding the Higgs site.
View attachment 5415

Seems pretty clear to me. Wasps are paying to move the pitch (as we've seen from the other comms), Wasps have offered 3 hours per day at normal commercial rates for the indoor facility. CCFC could hire CSF's facilities again and Paul Breed from CSF wants to have a chat about that. Should we start a new petition to force CA to talk to the other parties? That might have more of an impact that the other 'campaigns' we are seeing.
That says to Kurt Russell, so are we totally sure that that's not fake? ;)

wasn't the meeting CA pulled out of on 6th July ................ or is the suggestion that there are other meetings where that has happened and this is not the first time ? .............. the article was published 19th July so not a month later at all

You could view it as PR if you choose to................ you could also view it as evidence of frustration that the Club is actually doing very little itself to save the academy

People were hinting about it on here, then when questioned they were saying they weren't allowed to give any more info. If it wasn't news why was there an article about it on Tuesday with a quote ready from CSF?

It was clearly obvious what was meant by the hints, why would the Telegraph wait a month before they did an article on it? Especially as by the comments you can see how much interest would be generated by it. Why were people saying they weren't allowed to say what had happened but now it is allowed to be discussed? What was stopping it?

I think CA has said from the start to put it into writing and then they can discuss things properly hasn't he?

At any point are you going to ask WTF Chris Anderson is doing about it? Seems to me that the trust has done his leg work for him (big thanks to the trust) the gate is half open and all he has to do is open it the rest of the way and go through it.

Instead of concentrating on something as non productive (with regards to the academy's future) as trying to decipher tin hat conspiracy theories about the CT sitting on stories try asking why the club and specifically CA aren't following up on the legwork that the trust have done on the clubs behalf.

How come people kept hinting about it but would never say straight what it was? When questioned it was said they weren't allowed to say any more?

Surely it would have been news worthy the day after they didn't show?

So as it is a couple of weeks old it is now not relevant ffs Nick get your head out look around.
You have questioned everything bar why wouldn't he turn up.
Never know you might get the usual bullshit they never emailed me never wrote it in blood never phoned me.
Or the one I heard "I do not trust them"
fucking hell coming from them that is fresh.

I have no idea why I thought it was a month. I reckon it must have been a dodgy calendar I looked at. Apologies.

It was still not mentioned for 2 weeks (not a month)

Has it happened other times then? Why not say it? You are implying it has.

I have asked what excuse he used and will see if that matches up when he eventually makes a statement.

So the reason he gave is that he didn't trust them? Was that what he said to the trust?

Because he would not like the answer.

no I wasn't your comment said a month ago so I asked a question because of the time span you gave, nothing more

One would assume that other certain issues may have been an influence in Anderson not turning up.

Given as I understand it this was a meeting to discuss ways to resolve the issues regarding housing the academy I would have thought it normal business practice to have been e mailed details to pre-read - this I find rather strange.

If I was Anderson I would have insisted on it but then turned up anyway. As he hasn't given reasons it's difficult to judge but it's not a signal of the clubs lack if interest. Wasps are always first on the Pr front so it strikes me as odd they have not come up with details on their plan.

There is also, may I remind everyone, the small matter that the new owner having looked at 17 sites picked the one that caused this issue and the equally small matter they have refused to continue negotiations regarding the club actually continuing to play at the Ricoh.

All small matters and nothing compared to the outrage we should feel at someone not attending a meeting.

If the reason is trust, why did he agree in the first place? Did he confirm he was going?

That's strange.

As OSB has said, he has said all along that it needs to be in writing (whether right or wrong).

What was said minutes before the meeting when he pulled out? Surely the Trust / CSF know this but haven;t said either?

He's also said that none of the other parties are willing to engage with CCFC.

The person who knows 100% why he pulled the plug is Anderson - and I think the best route forward would be a statement confirming why being released by the club.

Agree with that about explaining, no doubt with another pr person at the minute.

we have 11 months left on the Academy agreement

We have an Academy audit happening sometime between August 2016 and April 2017

We don't have time for posturing or PR. We don't have time for pulling out of meetings and not rearranging. We don't have time for artificial barriers to the partnerships that will be needed

We need a solution as a priority - and like it or not that is going to be affected by the Wasps and swimming pool developments

It doesn't mean there is no solution to be had but it will require compromise and partnership............... which is where this all falls down

Totally agree. No-one from any side should be pulling out of these very important meetings.

Think you need to go in and fight your corner.

Grendal perhaps it might just coincidence they picked this site probably it was the best for their requirements and at least they are prepared to try and accommadate us .If the boot was on the other foot would they be so accommadating to Wasps knowing their history i think not.

Nick - the reason it wasn't mentioned as soon as it was because the Trust do not want to embarrass CA and give him an excuse to avoid talking to them. All that Trust is trying to achieve is the club having an academy. There are no conspiracies, no PR battles, no anti sisu protests. I assume the reason CT put it out was because they saw the reports from the Trust meeting just like Cov Observer takes exerts from SCG minutes and reports them as news when meeting actually happened usually 2 weeks earlier - lazy journalism all round.

Why won't they reveal what the other sites were do you think?

Their plan? Like the CCFC academy is "their plan"?

Their plan is clear. Their plan is to develop the AEHC. If CA is interested in maintaining the academy at its current status he needs to be attending meetings not cancelling them and tell wasps our plan. The trust has even done CA's legwork for him (thanks again to all at the trust). I'd suggest that it's more productive to concentrate on what CA is doing (or not as the case seems) rather than wasps "plan". CA is the guardian of CCFC and the academy not wasps.

How have the trust done their legwork?

Yes. I'd like you to explain how they have done his legwork for him.

They've spoken to everyone CA should have and clarified details in the process. Probably because they're been proactively seeking communications with those concerned not proactively dodging them.

Stop lining up the excuses for CA. All that matters here is the academy and making sure that those responsible for it are doing all they can. Cancelling meetings is not doing all you can. Unless of course your aim isn't to preserve the academy in it's current status.

Anderson could easily have already spoken to these people surely? It's possible the solution proposed isn't an acceptable one isn't it?

Acceptable to who? Wasps and CSF? Apparently not an issue. The FA? Again, apparently not an issue. Who else does that leave?

Oh it's been confirmed that the Acadamy can still have all it's occupation at the centre - sorry missed that bit. Where is that confirmed?

Also are the costs confirmed? Sorry I got the wrong end of the stick - I thought those details weren't public knowledge as they hadn't been forwarded to Anderson in advance.

What's the cost for renting then?

The fa haven't said it's not an issue. I thought they had too :(

Indeed. A bit of spin is all it takes to fool some idiots

He clearly hates wasps though - he says it all the time.

well considering he was going to the meeting then said he wasn't you would presume that he hadn't spoken to these people.

But it has been confirmed that the current arrangements do not fully pass but were still agreed. They've agreed to work with the relevant parties to make it pass

In what way? If I'm wrong on either point I'll happily say so but other posters on here have made both of those points.

The first part is true the second point isn't. Even if they work with wasps and CSF and find alternative accommodation for everything else, there is no guarentee. CJ made it out that it would be a done deal and thr FL would approve it under those circumstances , but as Jan says in this thread, that was taken out of context and its still up to the FL/FA/PL and it could still not be enough to secure cat 2. The club should be exploring every avenue.
