So Coleman didnt play him because he was paid too much? What sense dos that make, surely he would play him to put him in the window for someone else to buy, unless he thought he wasnt good enough maybe?
If I remember correctly, didn't we not play Ward due to some amount of Appearance fee going to West Ham?

He saw his contract out as opposed to being sold. Ward was plenty good enough which is why as a free agent he had no trouble finding a new club - as for "putting him in the window" wasn't he loaned out once the January window passed and he wouldn't budge?

No he fell out with Coleman as he wasn't prepared to leave the club as Coleman wanted to sign Richard Wood who he saw as a superior defender.

He ended up getting wood on loan until ward had left the club and then signed him. Allegedly Wood was one of the big earners on £8 k a week.

Ward was 10 times better than Wood. Ward and Coleman had a very bad falling out by all accounts. Ward was brilliant when he first came.
