There's a few threads going on right now, but what is this latest shit going on?

On the last statement from the club today on sales, it says 'you cannot purchase season tickets after the season has started this year (so no later than August 6th).

What the fuck is this shit? I'll buy a ticket once I know they are actually taking the squad seriously with the money we invest. Why are they shutting the door once the season has started? That's exactly the kind of behaviour that makes me not want to get one.

Yes, I know we're all supposedly fans, and should part with our money for the club we love, but doesn't this seem a bit like a lock in trap? Surely they are kissing goodbye to money people would part with?

Yep that's it, we're supposed to part with money for the club we love,
Yet they can't part with money for the club they own. !

'The club have confirmed fans will not be able to purchase season tickets after the new League One season kicks-off on Saturday, August 6.'
What?!!?

What????

Errmm ........ where on earth is the logic in that? Madness!

Unless.... it's a mistake and they mean the 10% refund thing will stop on 6th August and sales won't be counted after then.

It's a mistake surely ........ isn't it??? Please tell me it's a mistake.

It's on the CCFC website -

"Please note: Season Ticket sales will come to a close on Friday 5th August, ahead of the start of the League One campaign on Saturday 6th August."

www.ccfc.co.uk//news/article/2016-17/5000-coventry-city-season-tickets-update-3161338.aspx

Ah yes.. Also under the headline 'edging closer to money back scheme on season tickets'.... Just 30% to go in 2 weeks with a now imposed deadline, no investment, silence from the owners and no home or academy in 12 months time. Yep, looking completely archievable to me

When I bought mine, this 'incentive' was the last thing on my mind.

Well. I try not to moan usually. But I haven't bought my season ticket yet due to work commitments and having a 1 year old. But there was a half decent chance I'd be getting one in a month or two. Now I obviously won't. What a ridiculous idea.

Don't they usually stop for a week or so when the season kicks off and then they do the pro rata type thing so it goes down in price every couple of weeks?

I think so. And hopefully that's the case this season and the telegraph have dropped a bollock rather than the club dropping a bollock.

If I remember right they always go off sale for a little bit, then they put them back on with different pricing and then do the half season tickets.

Yep, I expect they'll also be the "Season Tickets Deadline Extended" campaign.

It's clearly intended to try and get as much money in the coffers during the closed season to see what budget is available for TM.

However, does on the surface come across as you're either in or out.

Yep, although I don't think it is in or out. I'd be very surprised if there were no season tickets after that day

Sorry, I was saying going by the info currently on the CCFC website it gives that impression - not saying that's the plan.

Isn't the cut off for start of the season as thats when they said it would be the amount on that date that will count towards the potential 'money back scheme?'

I'm sure they will do the pro rata ST price after the Shrewsbury game.

That's why they usually do with pro rata

I reckon by the start of the season prob sold 5,300 they'll do a big announcement we've extended the money back scheme til the end of August hoping for a great first 4/5 games & maybe a couple of signings will somehow increase sale to 7k

6999 they don't really want 7000, I haven't renewed mine as I lost my job, back working now but waiting to see what they do before I ask the boss lady

Very poorly worded then.

That should say 'season ticket sales will be temporarily suspended after the 5th August.'
