Downside is that Rafa apparantly wants Che Adams from Sheffield United and will offer them Armstrong as part of the deal on loan. Also means Adam will be able to commute easily from Newcastle.

They potentially will have Clarke and Armstrong up front.

I'm not sure the 135 miles will be an easy commute. Equivalent distance than from Coventry to Preston. Not sure the distance thing had much of a bearing tbh.

I just can't see him ever coming back to Cov. We served his purpose. He did well and scored bags of goals. He has moved on and looking for new challenges. Very very doubtful he will come here again. I would say he won't come back.

His comments event suggest so. He said Coventry was great but time to move on in the latest article on him.

I don't see why not, there would be a fair few teams that won't be realistically competing for top 6, Newcastle will be playing for the title, he woudlnt be allowed to play against newcastle and could help a lesser team take points off Newcastle's title rivals. Players get loaned between clubs in the same league all the time. I see no benefit for him dropping down to league one where he excelled last season. Would love him back here, but for his own development he needs to challenge himself in a higher league.

Zero chance of him coming back. Why would he? He's proved already he is good enough for league 1, to spend another season in this league is a waste of a season for his career.

Why would he want to come back here, you love the club but he hasn't any real
emotional connection to City.
I'm sure given a choice between us and SUFC he would pick them, they have
real ambition to get out of this shite league, and play in front of 20.000 fans

That would be more of a factor for a permanent move whereas in this case wherever either club appears to be going, he'll be in Newcastle.

Don't forget the kid needs to prove he can play a full season without burning out. He still has much to accomplish even at this level. Better to finish top goal scorer of a division rather than struggle at a lower end champ club. Also Rafa will know what Mowbs is all about from the Prem days, whereas he wouldn't have a scooby about Wilder.
