How many players do we need? (3 Viewers)

Not saying who we should or shoud not sign it the timing Kyle Reid who signed tonight has been available since May 10th they dont suddenly become a better player me thinks it just a case of not paying out untill the last minute (wanting to do everthing on the cheap) so then you put up with a smaller pool of players to chose from.
You keep saying it but can't back it up. Surely there are plenty of factors, if it was just wages we wouldn't have got gadzev etc the season before?

I think a lot of this is money we keep getting told our budget is one of the top 7 or 8 in the league but any player who leaves of his own accord we are told goes by our management has gone for vastly superior wages Look at other sides in our league most of them are going to start with far more settled sides than oursleves. As for Gadzev and Jones they were possible bargains that you must always be on the lookout for dont worry if jones progresses like we think he might he will be gone Money is Susi's god

So what point are you trying to make? We only sign players late to save on wages? When rose and gadzev were signed the season before ready for this season and Jones at the start?

Rose and Jones were signed to try and help stop the slide we were having at the end of the season with the hope of just keeping us in the top 6 first bit of speculation ive seen from Susi since they have been here.

Jones was signed with one eye on this season and a view to a permanent, not to stop the slide last season. He wasnt a regular starter at D&R and mowbray wasnt expecting him to play as many minutes as he did.

2CBs would be very happy with Wilson and Reda or Long on loan

1RB loan

1CM bigi would do

1Winger Robert would do

1 plan b target man

1 pacy loan striker

+ McCann

If you signed both reda and Wilson as your 2 centre backs with no loan window we would be fucked around October when reda inevitably breaks down, and the possibility of Wilson getting injured given he too has struggled with injurirst the last 2-3 years. There is no emergency loan window.

At this time last season a lot of concern re the squad was expressed then as it is now, in the final couple of weeks we signed Armstrond, Murphy and Kent a lot of concern about them expressed but they all hit the ground running atleast for the first 4 months but we all know that tapered off. This season slowly but surely Mowbray has brought in more experienced players and although we have lost a couple in Vincelot and Fleck I think he knows exactly where he is at and more will come in permenantly and loans. His big issue is replacing the goals of Armstrong and Murphy, 30, not convinced yet on our strike force but then where we 12 months ago. I'm sure we will kick off with a decent squad on paper atleast

You can replace the goals or tighten up at the back. Neither been done .. yet. :cow:

Burge
Willis, Ricketts, Johnson, Stokes
Lameiras Vincelot Fleck O'Brien
Maddison, Armstrong

That's the starting 11 from the first game of last season. The entire spine of the team has been replaced or needs replacing. We may well end up with a decent squad but with 8 days to go til the start of the season, which is the last of this manager's contract, then it's hard to argue any foundation for success has been built on the pitch from one season to the next.

I would say that we are short of two centre halves, one central midfielder (in addition to McCann) and a target man. In an ideal world you would probably add a couple of squad players to pad out the squad in the right back and right wing areas but at this level it's hard use the budget to pay players and not play them.

We need 4 permanent players in my opinion

2x CB
1x CM
1x Striker

Try and bolster the squad with 2-3 loan players

Clock is ticking.

We still need a good 6 or 7 players...

...To be able to realistically compete.

Otherwise we will probably end up like we did in our last season in the Championship, totally out of our depth
