Yep, although money aside, the relationship with the council has completely broken down, and given the tricks they tried with the butts and them giving preferential treatment to wasps through thr planning, I can't see the council making it easy for thr club if they did buy it, so for that reason (if they had thr money) I don't think sisu would even entertain it. In fact its almost in the councils interest to make it as difficult as possible to force us to stay at the Ricoh.

You might be right, we may well have truely burnt out bridges with the council, through our past actions

Don't think there has been any clarity on the funding of the pool or the Wasps set so it is not possible to say one way or the other who is funding the Wasps part of it
All I've seen is statements from Wasps saying they're looking for a sponsor to help fund it, no one has said who it might be, but I guess they've something in mind. I wouldn't be 100% surprised if the Higgs Charity puts in some money, but I'd rather hope they keep out of it.

Wasps chief executive David Armstrong recently told the Telegraph that the club was looking for a sponsor to help finance the development.

I would be very surprised if AEHC put any money up to fund Wasps. As a charity I think they are moving well away from sport in general and CCFC in particular.

That's the impression I got, would be a bit of a U Turn after doing their bit to get away from it.

Probably one of the 17 sites wasps looked at. Can't be much good oh they didn't want it.
What I don't get Grendel is that the WASPS have found a very good home at the Broad Street Rugby club which has more than enough ground available to do exactly what they want to do at AHC with ground to spare the difference being that it comes under RUGBY council jurisdiction!! even the WASP players like it there as well . It's not that Broad Street are not used to selling their property and making huge profits is it.

...but that wouldn't impact on their competition though, would it? They do not want a successful CCFC, those who actually believed the rubbish about wanting to work together with CCFC and Cov Rugby are so gullible.

give you a clue .................. ££££££££ .................... to build a site from scratch is going to take longer to get approved (more green belt issues and they need it done quickly), require changes to road access, laying of new pitches, the installation of utilities (water, power etc) greater site preparation, greater costs to the car parking, etc etc ............ equals probably several million on the cost. That is why AHC is most attractive and the other sites were dismissed

And the fact that they have been working with Breed and CSF since before they even came here. I doubt it is a co-incidence that they own a sports centre is it?

It is like me "phoning round" Electricians and then suddenly realising my best mate is an Electrician so he could just do it for me.

they wouldn't have done it even then NIck if the costs were not the deciding factor. They were working with him because it was the cheapest most cost effective thing to do for their business plan. They haven't just thrown all this together, it has taken months of planning, and schmoozing to build relationships, to get to this stage.

Breed was working with them before they even moved to discuss about how they could make Coventry their home? I'd find it hard to believe the discussion about them using the Higgs as their training centre didn't come up as part of them making Coventry their home.

Also:

Mr Breed dismissed suggestions the Alan Higgs Centre, in Allard Way, could act as a training base for Wasps should the move go through.

Shame our owners never saw the same instead off threatening everyone with court action and moving the club away.
Sorry but I can't forgive them for that no true Coventry fan could.
All we ever hear is we are forced to move the club out of the city because?
I don't give a fuck about the Wasps
I don't care if our council is voted out ( never voted for them anyway)
All I care about is CCFC and Coventry in general I am a proud Coventrian call a batch a batch and an entry an entry just gutted we chose Sisu to save us.

CCFC belong in Coventy and nowhere else shame our owners can't burn a few bridges and make this a reality.
