Alternatives to the Higgs? (13 Viewers)

Nick, its not that Wasps or anyone else doesn't want the club there, they will oblige for the club but only after they reach the other goal in this process, they have said they want CCFC at the Academy and Ricoh. The truth is they don't want Sisu near anything, so the play on words is being well and truly used and has been by all parties for a certain agenda. We as fans do not split the 2 in regards to owners and Club we say us, but all other parties have no problem in doing so as they will pick up what is left when or if Sisu leave.

Time is on Wasps and partners side now, Sisu are on a timer that is running fast, the other party knows this so bluff, comments or courts will not help Sisu now, delaying anything for them is dangerous. I don't like this Nick, i don't enjoy this but its why all the excuses are coming out about why not to talk instead of solutions to talk. Very important to remember in this situation of stalemate!! who does talks and agreed contracts of time benefit, if getting sisu out is the plan? it certainly isn't those who are putting the squeeze on....

My opinion by the way, i have no inside information, just a feeling on how things are playing out, so i don't mind if i get ridiculed or pulled up for the above.
Really? I can seperate sisu and the club. Ie if the council had let the club have the ricoh and not sisu etc.

I don't care if the sisu offices get blown up tomorrow, I don't care if they go bust and all end up on the streets in cardboard boxes.

It is still a possibly they know somebody else who they want to own ccfc...

I honestly don't think the owners want an academy. Yes it may get them a few pounds every so many years through selling talent but I don't think they're interested. I have heard a rumour that sisu are looking at taking the club out of Coventry to either Rushden or Worcester, if they don't get what they want. This was mentioned at the scg meeting. Words to the effect of "if fans keep pushing for the owners to leave, they may get what they wish for"
Who has said that they will move us there?

Who also said that at the scg?

Move to Rushden or Worcester? Hahahaha. Got your Wasps season ticket yet? Do they promise you all a free ST if you come on here and help bang their drum? Italia certainly earns his.

That's what I.don't get

That we rent on a 3 month rolling basis. Hardly a CCFC asset.
Unless you own something you will always be at the will of others.
If they were serious a similar proposal to Wasps would be an option. But I think Sisu want everything but pay nothing.

Sounds awfully similar to a hedge fund owned franchise club from down London way...

Not really, they have made a planning application to build something. We're still waiting on an exciting announcement in 3 week's on development's from 3 year's ago.

You are right it is the same, wasps don't want us there either so will sack us off and twist the blame...
I have no idea why you think Wasps should look after the interests of another business. CCFC is nothing to do with them - it is owned by some uber capitalists who dont have a clue how to run the business they are in. I have no idea what Fisher and Anderson do to earn their money do you? The general idea in business is that you improve and grow it - any twat can cut costs and shrink a business. Apparently everything is always someone else's fault - so what are they responsible for and what is their ultimate objective?

Somewhere that hasn't been mentioned yet is the Coventry University sports pitches at Westwood Heath.

There are 3 or 4 full sized grass football pitches and another astroturf style one. There are also several grass hockey pitches (so potential room for more football pitches to be marked out).

The place is now marketed by the university as a conference centre, so there are meeting rooms etc too.

Coventry University used to have a good relationship with the football club (it used to sponsor a game every season and the Vice Chancellor used to be a frequent visitor to Highfield Road),

Perhaps the club could work something out with the university?

A partnership with Warwick Uni would probably be the best bet, perhaps the club and thr university could jointly bid for some sport england and/or fa funding to help build an indoor facility

How can sisu/ccfc put in a similar proposal for the higgs site when higgs have already agreed to let the land to wasps and there is legals that say the club can't have an agreement for longer than 7 years?

It's an application to rip up the site of the CCFC academy and replace it with a facility for Wasps. It's not even been approved and Wasps are probably out picking curtains for the offices. It is an utter stitch up.

We want the club to commit long term to Higgs - the same Higgs that put a clause in a contract stopping the club signing a long term deal.

We all know that the new stadium idea was not likely to occur on SISU's watch - even though we probably need it.

That does not excuse the deplorable actions of Higgs/CCC and CSF here.

A lot of people made a lot of noise on here about fighting this move... And it's just turned into an apathetic acceptance - why is that??

Is it all because Anderson wanted some information in a letter??

It's embarrassing.

Yeah, it was a bit weird how they were giving statements about it the day the actual plans got submitted. Stating whether they can help or not.

You are right, there was uproar when the news first came out. The trust were wound up, I got the impression they were going to go all out on everybody . People were asking others to Boycott Wasps.

They put a statement out saying "Look at SISU" and then it all goes dead.

New swimming pool announced for the city centre new union street, so wasps don't need to fund one for the council at AHC

I got the same impression, interestingly though wasn't it around the same time as trust elections?

So realistically in Coventry there are already a number of sites with enough area to house at least 4/5 pitches, and are already of semi-pro standard, which wouldn't require too much work to get them up to top quality pitches:

Coventry University
Warwick University
Bablake
Highway
Alan Higgs

I'd say that in Warwickshire these would be possible:

Kilsby Lane
Warwick School
Central Ajax (where some of Cov's PDCs are)

Nick, i have no doubt you are able divide the two, but you know the comments that come up when this sort of topic is around, i believe all parties concerned have no interest in any partnership or relationship with Sisu of any kind. And this is a situation that will not be solved easily or at all, but some on here will remark by having this opinion its supporting the CCC more than the club. Or by saying Wasps are organized in effecting the plan, its loving Wasps at the cost of our club etc.... Its gets boring to go round the same story to be honest, nothing is new, its playground on here, as it is in the boardrooms when all these get together, all of us are guilty of it on here and to be honest i have no problem with it, its an opinion and means very little.

However in the boardroom or in meetings with the concerned parties statement that fly around about "you said this" and "i want to see that"do the club very little in the way of progress. These are deliberate ploys in my mind so multiple excuses can be given on why not to talk and get a deal done to suit all parties. My question is why? who does it benefit to delay timelines on contracts! its certainly not sisu, they are very much on the back foot and running out of time. All other parties know this and are waiting for them to fall to pick up whatever and whoever left when the dust settles.
