Link to story on Adelaidenow has been provided. Adelaide have lost 4 good players (as per Leicester) after winning the A League last season. Likely they are interested but why Rose? Is he unsettled or does the club/TM need the money? Adelaide do have some cash as 3 of the players were sales to Europe and South Korea.

You can't justify selling him, whatsoever.

If there is any truth in this, then it's absolutely inexcusable.

I'll try and keep a lid on it until we find out more, but i'll be furious if this is the case.

Look at the Wooton rumour. Telegraph reported it as if it was real and it was just a clown with photoshop. I'd take this story with a massive pinch of salt.

Doesn't seem real. Says he was presented yesterday when he wasn't.

There is a live thread on CT website about it. Hopefully some players in today also

I agree. I have taken the non-alarmist view to this point - having convinced myself that it will all come together and there is a plan, but this would make me angry and nervous in equal measure. Look at the team for tomorrow, Rose is one of the first names you would put in.

Doesn't make much sense. Rose was drafted in last season very much with this season in mind. He was given time to adjust to the English game, and when he got his chance at the end of the season he did well and showed promising signs. Not sure I get this at all, hope it's not true.

Not that bothered about Rose leaving, bar his goal I thought he was very average.

It's merely the size of the squad that worries me with this transfer, if it happens of course.

I am looking forward to the impending meltdown on here though.

"I am literally going to chop my head off and send it to Joy Seppala if we sell a player at a profit (who's not that good) again!!!"

What would you expect though?

Whilst he may be average to you, we only have about 5 average players in the team, a couple of good ones, and the rest are children.

People would be rightly upset about this if there is any substance in it.

I agree, hence clarifying my worry about the size of the squad.

It's not going to convince me to chase a refund on a non-refundable season ticket though.

Telegraph believe it could be because he's unsettled and no money will be paid. Has he only just realised he doesn't like life in England just before the season starts?

Firstly wouldn't be too fussed if he left - never saw anything special in him, would rather have kept Vincelot but that is water under the bridge. Secondly it says "presented to" but it doesn't say by whom - was it the club or Roses agent trying to get him a move back to Oz. If its his agent is it at Roses request, because he wants to move home or club has told him to find a new club? Its easy to jump to the conclusion that its simply the club offering to sell but in this case I find it a bit harder to believe that we are so desperate to off load him that we are touting him around Oz - would think it may be he has decided to move home. That's if it is at all true to begin with.

I agree with all of that Ashby. If true, it's probably Rose himself who wants to return to Oz. I'm not too bothered about it, other than the effect on our squad size, which is already far too small. MV and TM need to bring a few defensive players in very soon.

Telegraph also saying it wouldn't be for money.. Even though he is under contract.

Seems a bit strange, will see what develops.

How would this work then?

CT saying Adelaide don't pay transfer fees and Rose is under contract.

Hasn't that got to mean he has to leave by mutual consent and just rip up his contract?

Would think so, so if it is it could be down to personal reasons rather than the club trying to cash in. I don't think even they are stupid enough to cash in on a player by not getting any money :)

The telegraph is saying the Adelaide reporter said that he was presented by an 'agent'. It could be that rose wants/needs to return to Australia for other reasons and his agent is hawking him around, not the club.

It is still strange for it to be reported his agent hawking him and a bit unprofessional.

Imagine if every agent who rang mowbray was then reported in the telegraph about the player?

If the move doesn't come off and his agent has been pimping him about, it makes him look bad!

Cant say i have been that impressed with him pre season... good engine yes good passer no frees up more money but we are getting very thin on the ground if it is true but no great loss

You don't see things like I do then, I think he is a good player for this level.

You would think that they would have thought about that before moving to England not so long ago :)
Not as easy as that.

I worked with someone who sold up and gave his job up and emigrated to Australia at the end of last year with his family. They came back within 6 months. There were quite a few reasons. One main one was a family member back here that had a serious illness.

Just had a conversation with someone about this, and how with a thread bare squad it would be ridiculous to let him go, the fella said "well, what can you do"

YOU COULD NOT BLOODY SELL HIM !!! He's under contract with us and we don't HAVE to sell every player we get an offer for, he'll go for what ? 6 shillings and a Turkey ? Just keep him for Christ sake,

We're a selling club, I understand that, but he's not some young hotshot we can get millions for he's an average for this league midfielder that we actually need at the moment of just to make up the numbers.

I know we haven't got rid yet but it was the same with Vincelot, why get rid of players that could still do a job for peanuts.....

Surely it depends on the circumstance and what is actually going on? It says his agent presented him to them..

It was also said they don't pay transfer fees, so if that is true it wouldn't be selling him.

I would guess that his partner has not settled and if that happens, the player is under a lot of pressure to move on. For an american, I find it strange that the agent is promoting him in Australia, where the same scenario could be repeated. Think his agent is thinking of his fee?

It's got to happen yet of course but if it does at this stage of the season, doesn't it suggest that players are jumping ship ?
Mowbray is the one to watch for me.................A few more knock backs and a poor start to the season and I can see him bailing out too.
Still only 3 weeks, days, hours to the season start...............
