Ticketmaster / Pay on the Gate (10 Viewers)

We've had people banging on for ages about how shit our ticketing is and how brilliant Wasps' is. Now we're using the same system as Wasps its suddenly gone from being brilliant to total rubbish!

Not really. People complained about the online system - the fact you couldn't use it on tablets and that it would crash during hight demand. This HAS been fixed by the switch - but at the same time they have done that, they have stopped selling tickets at Arena Park, they have scaled back the Butts operation which is now only open limited hours and have also stopped POTG. So 1 step forward and 3 steps back.

Wasps also have a proper, fully-functioning ticket office open 6 days a week - we don't have anything close.

Go to the Ticket Office, they will have a minimum of 5 serving.

Hopefully it wont take too long!

If each one of them were to sell a ticket each every 30 seconds they would shift 600 in the hour before kick-off. They could probably about handle a walk-up of 1000 tonight without there being any significant issues. I expect it will be more than that. Could be wrong though.

The thing is though, when everybody turns up at 7.42!

I remember before when people were ordering them in advance and needed to collect them, they ordered them for collection but rock up 5 minutes before kick off and there is a queue.

Who do you call if your tickets haven't turned up for tonight's game in the post? No contact number on the booking confirmation that came by email. I'm sort of assuming that if I go to the ticket office tonight my tickets will be waiting for me as long as I produce my booking confirmation. But again no details on the confirmation. It doesn't even confirm that they will be posted, collection only or follow this link to print off e tickets.

Same for me. I called them and they said to pick up at the ticket office at the Ricoh. Didn't see a way to print them off though, which would have been much easier.

What I dont get is why it is being shit? Ticketmaster must used to be able to set things up.

Stuff like printing tickets and not posting them is down to ticketmaster surely? The whole idea of them is to get away with doing it outselves.

Mine came last week so they had the ticket stock and everything in place. Are the people who haven't had them generally people who ordered late?

Although I definitely ordered later than I usually would at no point in the process did it say that you will need to collect these from the ticket office due to the close proximity of the game, or if you want to print off an e ticket do so by doing x,y and z, or your tickets will be posted out by a to get to you by b.

Just seems to be a complete lack of clarity and not something you'd expect from a market leader such as ticket master.

Agree with that I had the same issue, but presumed it would be collecting from the ticket office. But the lack of clarity isn't good enough from ticket master

I don't have a problem with collecting them before the game and I was actually expecting to do this considering it was Friday lunchtime when I ordered them. Just expected to be told one way or the other before hand that's all.

Anyway. Rant over. Looking forward to a win tonight for us and then I fly off tomorrow for sunnier times in Spain for two weeks so happy days :)

Predictably no cash turnstiles was a farce, a 6 year old could have told you it would happen. Now can we stop with the ticket master know what there doing bullshit. Unacceptable and the club must now rethink there pay on the gate policy for the rest of the season.

Have to say, I don't like to shit on the club but the running of the club since the end of last season has been close to disgraceful. First they got the pricing strategy for the upcoming season completely wrong, struggle to send tickets out on time. Taking season tickets off sale instead of leaving them on sale on pro rata. Add another fuck up with the moronic no cash turnstiles decision and still not sorted out match packages(not sure on this one)
Then you've got the badly organised preseason with teams pulling out and then scrambling to find a replacement (thinking more of the match in Austria than the Doncaster match)
And then you've got the slow progress in the transfer market whilst losing a lot of the core players from last season. To top it off we've got the academy and stadium situation looming over us with Anderson refusing to meet in person and csf refusing to put an offer in writing.

Well pissed off right now, if the club don't get there shit sorted out in the next year even the diehard fans will start getting fed up.

I completely agree.

Some fans will rip you for that, but in my opinion the details you've stated will collectively contribute to a drop in attendences, unless we string together a few wins that is.

I hate moaning and being negative, but the club have got it completely wrong since the end of last season.

But we had massive queues when it was all potg so what are you whinging about?

It is 15 minutes before kick off in fairness, it was the same pay on the gate.

Straight in with a ticket!

I had already queued 20 minutes.
They opened the cash turnstiles eventually and got to my seat just before kick off.
If the match had started and I was in the queue I was planning to go home.

It must have shot down then, I went past about 7.20 and it was about there. I read on here it was way back so was expecting it by the steps.

who said it was. It's just more caused by folk rocking up at 7.40

I walked down from Ash green, was in a crowd of a fair few people and they all poured out of the Bull and Anchor and I think about 5 or 6 people seemed to carry on walking and the rest all joined the queue.

Although they do need to sort pay on the gate or find alternative ways, there would have been queues either way tonight I think.

e-ticketing will save a lot of the hassle.

Dunno how far back it went but I was queuing from about 7.05, was still miles away from the front at 7.30 and by 7.30 there were hundreds behind me also. At a guesstimate I reckon it would have taken me to 8.15-8.30 to get served in the ticket office queue, and to serve the rest of the queue that was forming behind me probably would have taken another 60-90 minutes .

Fortunately we got pay on the gate tickets straight away as I split up with the person I went with, whilst I queued up he was hanging around the turnstiles incase they opened them for cash and got two tickets from the turnstile immediately.

Did they have the ticket office in full pelt or could you not see?

Just wondering if they had like 2 or 3 computers on the go or something silly.

Don't know, didn't get close enough to even see the entrance of the ticket office

If I was the club, I'd be on the phone to Ticketmaster telling them to sort their act out.

They are fucking about posting season tickets, tickets for today took the piss, the print at home isn't working either.

I'd be demanding a pay on the gate solution, what do Wasps use for example? Surely Ticketmaster will know what the other clubs do so should be able to advise?

As the Ricoh does CCFC, Wasps and other stuff they could probably have some sort of outlet / touch screen kiosk so people can buy tickets 24 hours somewhere.

They are still taking their quids, but their service has been dog shit and the club should really be pointing out it is down to TM more.

Are we just paying for access to the ticketmaster technology, i.e the ticket master website, servers and other things etc. I'm not sure they take it over as a full scale operation.

The club still have to employ the ticket staff I think If you go buy a ticket face to face, the person serving you is still a ccfc employee. All they do is go on the ticket master site and make the transaction for you. If the ticket office are understaffed that they can't cope with the walk up or posting out tickets on time then that is still the clubs responsibility I would have thought.

The issue with printing tickets I suspect may have been because of the scanners at the Ricoh. Yesterday the tickets had no barcode and the scanners weren't being used so that means printing e-tickets is a non starter without access to the scanning technology, so again not really a ticket master problem. Either they didn't consider the match important enough to use the scanners (maybe they pay for the usage of them on a game by game basis) or they didn't have access to them for whatever other reason.

So who s fault is it we can't use the ticket scanners?

They were all covered

Maybe there is a cost to configuring them for CCFC event which the club won't pay?

I don't know, could have been a club decision to not use it for the cup game to save on costs for just this one fixture which is fair enough. Could have been a problem in dealing with ACL, or could just be a lack of planning and not set up in time.
