So who do you want as next manager? (5 Viewers)

Assuming AT goes now who is out there who we could get without having to pay for? Not Carsley for me - no experience and we need that at this present moment so for me I would pick Gary Johnson. Still a good manager who needs to prove himself after northampton debacle.
Any other names?

Its completely irrelevant who we bring in, because the vermin will not back them with anything other than false promises and if they do it will be just as despicable in that Thorn had his team sold from beneath him.

Ash - completely agree that's why we need someone who can work with what we have and not be pitching constantly about wanting more money, new players etc. That's why I would discount prima donna Billy Davis who spent more time moaning at the forest board than he did managing the team.

Maybe a prima donna but his record at this level is outstanding record, unlike the other mentioned

Maybe ken will be manager but all fans can text in their team selection on premium rate line and players with most votes get to play. Genius - raises money and fans get team they wanted!

If it came to it I would pluck someone from the BSP or somewhere like that. NLHWC is an expert on all things non-league so he would know who the up-and-coming managers were.

Preston, Derby..... not sure he had loads at those clubs

Preston 2004-05
He brought in 18 players including nugent, Callum davidson, agymang, sedgewick, oliveira, Carlo Nash, kozlak.

Preston 2005-06
Brought in 14 players including danny dichio, dave jones, Marcus Stewart, ormenroyd

Derby 2006-07
With new ownership, Derby had been able to compete in the transfer market for the first time in a number of years, with Luton Town's Steve Howard becoming the club's first £1 million singing since François Grenet six years previously and, alongside captures from Premiership clubs such as West Ham United's Stephen Bywater and Fulham's Dean Leacock. In the Jan transfer window he strengthened for the promotion run-in with the signing of Tyrone Mears, Jay McEveley, Gary Teale, David Jones, Craig Fagan, Stephen Pearson and Jon Macken for a combined £5 million.

Derby 07-08
They were in the prem and he left after 14 games.

And that's before you consider how much he spent at Forrest.

We're buggered then if that's our choices. I don't want either.

Lawrie Sanchez. Experienced manager. Has now taken Barnet away from the bottom of the 2nd div. Ex international manager, ex crazy gang so used to getting results against the odds..

Steve Bruce? He would want more cash for players than would be needed to wipe our debts out

Because that's working out for Thorn.

Arrogant prick. And he spent fortunes at Fulham and he would have taken them down he hadn't been sacked. Bottom of the list along with Steve Bruce.

Shoulda got Holdsworth but he's been poached by Aldershot.

Marcus Law at Tamworth has impressed me massively over the past few years. He built a side at Barwell in The Midland Alliance that broke all records; most of those players are now playing BSP football. Problem is, his main job is as Villa Youth Coach! Still, he'd get the best out of Gardner...

Another good shout might be Ian Bogie at Gateshead. Has taken them up through the divisions and improved their BSP final position every year to the extent that they've gone from part-time and relegation faves to full-time and play-off challengers. He came through the youth side at Newcastle with Gazza; wonderful passing midfielder at Port Vale, plays passing football as a manager like he liked to as a player. Dunno if he'd want to relocate, but he is the closest thing to Nigel Clough in non-league at present. In fact the similarities (multiple promotions followed by establishing the club in BSP, style of play, keeping the same core of players for many years) are striking. Talks a good game too, but I wouldn't mess with him, either.

That said, I'm still backing AT :D

Is he available ?

He was last seen running away crying after someone made fun of his name, so I'm not sure. He's got to be worth a go, though. Think of the chants!
