Positives, young decent players signing on long contracts, manager who doesn't seem to rush. A footballing guy now on the board rather then numbers people.

Jsb stuff, the Jimmy hill legacy stuff.

That's within a minute on my phone
Don't all teams sign their promising youth on long term contracts? Yet we've only just started to do it..

I'm also pretty sure most of our 'promising youth' are out of contract in the summer (who have come through the ranks, not bought).

Seems like a good acquisition, but he is still an untried youngster. No guarantee he will be another Adam Armstrong. It might take a while for him to settle and get goals.

Goals are a team responsibility. First you have to make the chances.

Our team needs support and patience. We will do okay. But don't demand too much too soon.

To the moaners who moaned about not signing Leon Clarke, to the moaners who moaned about the loss of John Fleck;
have Sheffield United started any better than us?

I agree that goals are a team responsibility, but one of the major things we've lacked in both home games is a striker that stretches the play and creates space for the likes of Jones and Ruben to work in. Everything's been too stifled, too deep. Looking at videos of this new fella, he makes forward runs and drags defenders with him. Could make a massive difference.

Fair point but it's three games in. Let's all see where we end up.

Wigan had a bad start last year and ended up winning at a canter remember.

I think or rather hope he could do good for us, he seems direct likes to run at players has good ball control and quick feet and can score with either foot, I really hope the lad does well but we still need a plan b and c when the inevitable goal drought comes... or maybe he will astound us and just keep banging them in

So we are both potentially still at the races?

Are we going to get promoted like Wigan, I doubt it. But that doesn't mean we can't make progress on last season. It depends on whether people focus on expectation or reality.

Yes he looks good but has no league experience, so we have to give him time.. it might not be an instant happy marriage. Thierry Henry at Arsenal took some time to find the net but was a brilliant signing. Just saying don't expect too much too soon.

Its difficult to call whether this is a good signing, he's completely untested. He could be thr next Armstrong but could equally be the next callum ball.

I'm gonna keep an open mind, I still expect sordell to first choice with this lad alternating with Reid, Jones, Lamieres and thomas in the wider 2 supporting roles. Presuming hes going to continue to play 343

Surely Plan A isn't a loanee from Burnley's youth team who is yet to make his senior competitive debut????

We were 4 points of playoffs last year which is 2 games away. Very close. Wouldn't take a lot more but are we better than last year? Who knows just yet?

I honestly think we will finish mid table. There are teams both better and worse than us in this league as it stands.
