My worry is that I'll get a taste for the habit of not going. Times are getting tougher financially, and I don't think I'm going to be able to get the time off work to justify it next season..if I still have a job. At such times, with little hope of anything in return anyway, it becomes a lot easier to stop unconditionally giving something I can't really afford.

We'll still be in the habbit if we turn up and sing in the car park. My concern is that if I was a Saints fan and got wind of this idea I would be cheering all the time so the fans had no idea what was going on. Be great if they could boycott too as a show of solidarity but I'm sure tehy won't want their team to suffer.

Actually be nice to see 6k in the Saints end and the rest of the ground completely empty (they're not allowed to give free tickets away either in the cup). So if any of you must insist on going then please buy a ticket for their end, wear red and learn the words to the fantastically imaginitive "Oh when the Saints" ​

An often-suggested idea by fans of clubs trying to rid themselves of owners, but not sure I can think of a single past example of a successful one-game boycott, either in terms of reducing numbers by much, or of achieving anything. Not criticising anyone's passion for the cause but this idea is a bad one. And why pick an FA cup game - hasn't this great competition been devalued enough by generally pisspoor crowds in the early rounds in recent years?

I wondered who would be the first to trot out that line. Your choice of course and nobody has the right to tell you what you can and can't do, but this is an ideal opportunity and we may never get a better one to really show them. We're not going to win the cup and it may get some decent publicity but only if we're united in our stance.

Why is going the best thing to do? I never miss the cup games but I'm not prepared to give sisu another penny,we'll lose anyway. Will the money go towards a loan player in Jan? Will it hell.

I am not that convinced it will work -- let's be realistic there are a real hard core that will attend whatever. For what it's worth though I will give it a go -- don't think I've missed a home game in 4 - 5 years!

I've missed the odd league game but still had a ticket as part of my season ticket, but not missed a game to pay for in years, so this will be a first for me too, but I think we need to try something. I've read that it won't work but is not an excuse not to try imo

They are obviously just trying to operate the club on a break even point at the moment, therefore the more money the club gets the better.

I could be wrong but i honestly believe that if we getting 20k on the gate everyweek, they would have more cash and therefore could and would spend more money.

No one is suggesting that after this 1 game sisu will pack up and leave. This is about showing how strongly we feel about their mis management of the club.

I agree but I would rather we had 30,000 the game after instead of 15,000. The overall finances are the same but one sends a clear message. Anyone who is a casual supporter and wants to attend the Saints game I would urge to go to a league game instead.

The more we make SISU struggle financially, the quicker they'll give up and f*ck off.

The board struggled to get them to fund us this season and Orange Ken has stated they say "why bother when supporters hate us".

Sisu are never going to invest in this club; they want out but are at present prepared to wait for what they see is a decent offer-- that means a long lingering death of the club (league 2 in a couple of years no doubts). Damage them and their name in the press and their idea of 'decent' is going to drop pretty quick and they will get out; and we get a fresh start (maybe not a great one but a chance). Time to bring this to a head or do nothing and let the club die in front of your eyes.

Exactly why I'm joining in GPE. I don't want to miss a game, but missing one now might be the difference of whether I still have a game to attend at all in a couple of years time and then my choice has been made for me.

we need to boycott this game to stick 2 fingers up at sisu and give them the message this is what it will be like next season if they remain here.


a Saturday afternoon with a couple of thousand saints fans in the ricoh and hardly any home fans would send out the message that we have had enough of the parasites and may help speed up their departure.


the 3 home games we have on the run up to the game we should protest big time, get as many banners in there etc as poss and as many anti sisu songs as poss.

then a no show for the cup game.


get the message out to as many people as possible, don't buy any tickets for the cup game! I will ring the phone in on Friday night and say it on there and will send an email to the telegraph see if anything can be put in that aswell.


want the ground as empty as possible for this game.

Everyone needs to stand firm though. If the gate revenue was practically zero then that has to be a concern to the board. Really need to spread the word. Contacting the CT would be a good idea too. Use Twitter and Facebook and get in touch with the local radio stations.

I am uncomfortable with boycotting league matches while there is still some hope of survival in the division. However this is a perfect opportunity to have a real demonstration and make a statement. I know some will not like this but I think if you really support the club you have to look long term and stay away.

Yea well I wasn't going anyway, not wasting my money we won't get it down as low as 700 people, maybe 4-5k.

We, the fans have little else to protest with other than our support, banners bring action from stewards, chanting can seem feeble and unorganised, the local media weak and inept with Clive Eakin trying to justify SISU & Dulieu at every opportunity and Andy Turner tip-toeing the issue frightened to death he will get black balled by our now one man band board member. Boycott the match but go to the casino if you are local enough. Make it clear those who do attend will protest loud and long this will make SISU have to have police attendance, another expense to them.
