We are now second in the medal table albeit it seems to be worked on Golds only not overall totals which is weird. I think if this games does not get people motivated to take up sport then nothing will although I think some of the specialist type clubs are flooded with applications Gymnastics, Archery etc. I guess its like January, they get flooded initially then die off.For such a small nation we are doing very well , but it does show if you throw good money at things it really helps.
I guess this is potentially the last as Great Britain if Scotland bog off?
God he made hard work of it thoughThat tennis final was intense, well done andy. First male tennis player to be a double Olympic champion in singles
I liked it that she was a bit "Ditzy "Helen Skelton is easy on the eye though...and those dresses certainly do distract from her presenting skills...

It will be jealous women. Bloody feminists.I liked it that she was a bit "Ditzy "
There was a bit of a twitterstorm as you could see a brastrap and a bit of leg then she went for a cover up
Sad really in this day and age that a grown woman can't dress how she feels without attracting Victorian attitude.
I have about five TV channels that show Olympic coverage. One shows tennis exclusively and one shows golf exclusively. I have not tuned in to either channel once.Golf should most definitely be in the Olympics.
Stop me if I have missed one, but for this little island nation of ours we haven't done too bad have we!!

Just shows how sporting we are. Brilliant to see.Has cost a few quid though
That make our footballers look soft as they don't roll about and just get on with it.True. A really rock hard ball hit at them at real pace, crashing into their bones and bodies and they more often than not they just get up and carry on playing.
Hats off to them!
Do you think when he is on the board waiting to dive he is in fact actually cruising?I wish Tom Daley would piss off, he has a boyfriend. Who really cares? His sexuality is more famous then his diving.
Its the same with the women's hockey as two of the GB team are married. They keep going on about it, but nobody gives a shit these days do they ? But if my parents were alive they'd probably say " dirty bleeders ! "I wish Tom Daley would piss off, he has a boyfriend. Who really cares? His sexuality is more famous then his diving.
Didn't know that! Its the same with the women's hockey as two of the GB team are married. They keep going on about it, but nobody gives a shit these days do they ? But if my parents were alive they'd probably say " dirty bleeders ! "
This generation is polar opposite to my late parents generation in attitudes to things like that. My dad would be disgusted and my mum would say they must be weird !Didn't know that!
That's the thing, I think it's good that nobody cares and it's just taken as "ok, and". Don't know why there's such a meal made of it.
Wow! I didn't know any of that.To be honest being openly gay is not that common in sport though is it? Off thr top of my head i can only think of Justin Fashanu, Hiltzlesperger, Gareth Thomas and Tom Daley as openly gay sport men

I guess mainstream, but I think the Olympics compared to football would be a lot more.To be honest being openly gay is not that common in sport though is it? Off thr top of my head i can only think of Justin Fashanu, Hiltzlesperger, Gareth Thomas and Tom Daley as openly gay sport men

I saw that mentioned in some article and I wondered why they were mentioning it as I assumed several of the squad must be married. I did not realize they were talking about married to each other. I'm from another age when men married women and women married men. It's the same with the women's hockey as two of the GB team are married. They keep going on about it, but nobody gives a shit these days do they? But if my parents were alive they'd probably say "dirty bleeders ! "
Yep and gay people were still gay people, but just kept it quiet.I saw that mentioned in some article and I wondered why they were mentioning it as I assumed several of the squad must be married. I did not realize they were talking about married to each other. I'm from another age when men married women and women married men.
Watching now!Brazil v Germany is going to penalties. Wouldn't like to be a Brazilian who misses with this crowd!
That face then! He's never happy, cried at the World Cup, crying now cos they've won!
The theory is that if we start doing that for the Olympics FIFA and UEFA will insist on us doing the same in other competitions so the Welsh, Scottish and NI associations won't allow their players to play as they know a combined national team would basically be English.Wonder why we didn't put one in.
You're only saying that so we can have Gareth Bale in our line-up.The theory is that if we start doing that for the Olympics FIFA and UEFA will insist on us doing the same in other competitions so the Welsh, Scottish and NI associations won't allow their players to play as they know a combined national team would basically be English.
I think most peoples initial reaction would be to keep the individual national sides but we never look like winning anything so would a GB team be a better option?
