Formation (1 Viewer)

Do you think the 3-4-3 system will ultimately come good?

My concern about it is that we play inside forwards with a front man or, in the Shrewsbury game, no front man ('false nine' as it is called amongst the 'cultured'), who are, on the whole, wingers. By playing them with wing backs, it feels like they are treading on each others toes when we are attacking.

Jodi Jones looks effective running from the wings and Kyel Reid is an out and out winger to me so what is the wing back meant to do.

Will the formation last? Or will TM look like a tactical genius come April?

no i dont think it will. it only works if you have very good disciplined wingbacks. sadly i think we have decent fullbacks only

Agree with Percy to a certain extent, I think it will come good when/if he gets in a genuine right/left wingback.

He'll look a tactical genius before April ;)

thats a very simplistic way of looking at it i suppose. it takes more than 1 pre season to turn academy full backs into seasoned wingbacks
Exactly, it takes time for any player to adopt to playing wing back. It's simplistic to say the formation doesn't work like you have.
