MP asks for CCFC intervention (13 Viewers)

It's not Dick Turpin asking demanding it !!!
It's what they calculate Sisu silly court cases have cost them that they can't retrieve.
Why deal with them again if everytime it costs them money ?
Sometimes you need to take off your Sisu glasses, step back and understand the reasoning.

The same as they demanded money for a court case from a Charity while distressing them?

Agree, every side should be pressured. The council come out and make statements demanding money, but nobody really bats an eye.

We can't question CCFC SISU because nobody knows what the plan is.
They just throw some scraps out there and the usual few feast on the banquet.

So you are agreeing with what I am saying then aren't you?

All it takes is a headline saying "Wasps offered an amazing deal" and the majority of people will only read that and not question it.
Nope, I may well agree with the headline, but will the majority rely on headlines and hearsay
To form an opinion ? Yes of course :)

Wycombe was a stupid move, too.

Rugby clubs have made some stupid ones... they mostly end up going back home in some sense though.

Or, in Richmond's case, finding they couldn't sustain a top tier Rugby club so reforming at a lower level, and returning to their roots.

Now *there's* a model that should be welcomed.

They were asked to move out by QPR to accommodate Fulham.

You made it out they had a choice

They did have a choice.

The same as we had a choice when we buggered off to Northampton... and we have a choice over whether to bugger off again now, eh.

To make one rule for one, and one for another is pure idiocy.

Or were they *compelled* to go to firstly Loftus Road, and then Wycombe?

I can see the point though, London has so few stadiums in it, such a limited choice of potential partners.

Is that how you operate your business? Anyone can ask you for money and you just blindly pay it?

If CCC are due the money then they will get that one costs are awarded when the legal process is exhausted. Despite their claims of having to cut services due to this the council have tens of millions in reserves. There is no issue for them to wait until a court orders payment. If the court doesn't order payment its because the court does not believe they are due the amount in question.

It cost them that because they weren't owed that were they?
How about the charity the council are screwing over at the minute?

Never said they were owed it. I said it's what it cost them for dealing with Sisu.
You will need to enlighten me on the charity story you've dug up.

Going to depend on the story that can be constructed.
- number of sites already considered, with FL involvement but nothing suitable
- CCC blocking proposed partnership at new site in city
- new site in City looked favourably on by FL
- Current landlord not willing to engage in talks
- CCC policy favouring Rugby and swimming
- CCC not dealing with club because of legal matters going on that are not the clubs
- unable to negotiate longer Academy deal
- Incomes being restricted despite high L1 average crowd numbers
- improvements have been made to being self sufficient so being responsible financially
- perceived conspiracy against the club
- club future at risk and only solution
- funding available to do it
- no site in Coventry or close to available
- alternative site or groundshare available for immediate use
- etc etc

Just to add to that ................. I would imagine someone could find grounds for a court case or two in that story........... or any refusal to believe in that story .............. but that's just an opinion as to where it might lead

That should make people like CCC or FL very wary as to proceeding on the path to covexit

I haven't "dug up" anything, its about CCC hammering a charity in Coventry. Strange it isn't widely reported though.

There's only you and Grendel that go through the councils dustbins ;)
Seems that the BBC are also going through the council's dustbins. It must be getting crowded there.

I posted a link to the CCC story in the 'Council helps football club' thread, which you'd posted on a few times, but have now oddly stopped. Actually, not that odd, as it's indefensible.

You mean the charity that's made up by a family of lawyers ;)

Perhaps that's why they wont deal with Sisu , because they are professional people they can see through there charade.

That's the thing, especially the bit about them demanding legal fees.

I wonder what damages the council will have to pay out because of it when it goes to court....

How much did Townshend owe the tax payer?

It is just SISU who want to starve the poor kids of Coventry though.

Firstly WASP did not buy the Ricoh. The freehold has never been for sale. This saga will go on and on and it's too time consuming to connect on here and see the rumour and conjecture getting out of hand on just about every subject matter re CCFC. The council have not dealt with the Ricoh situation well from day one and are culpable for many of our problems now along with our gracious owners. SISU have a right to take what legal action they think appropriate for them. That may not sit well with many but what is the alternative?

As for a 20 year deal - first I've heard this mentioned? If true it would be a great deal depending on the type of deal it was? A sub lease of sorts that was assignable? That would give the club an 'asset' to move on with the football club and a route for SISU to exit.
We can keep guessing and speculating all day but the in the mean time we must concentrate on the field and get promotions. Do that and the off field problems will start to be resolved very quickly I feel...

Would a new owner want to take on a 20 year agreement to rent somebody else's stadium?
