Who scored?
On 16 minutes, and following a successful spell of attacking play, Coventry made their strong start count and gained the lead after a wideman broke into the box from the left side to square the ball for the forward, who tapped the ball in past Mitchell.
Any idea who scored?
Camwell has a bit of the Stuart Pearce abou himJason Farndon's U18s lost their season opener 2-1 to Sheffield United this morning. Kyle Finn scored late on and Chris Camwell was sent off early in the second half
Team was: Skuza, Green, McMahon, Thompson, Camwell, Bayliss, Doyle, Finn, Stedman, Smith, Ponticelli
Next games:
U18s: Hull City - 20th August (A)
U21s/U23s: Leeds United - 18th August (A, 7pm, Elland Road)
Any ideas where I can see fixtures for the development teams? Walked over to the Alan Higgs this morning to see a full programme of academy sides playing Wigan. Not sure what the eldest lot were (u14/15s maybe) but it was a decent watch. Can't find anything online/twitter etc.. Wouldn't mind going over everynow and again if I know games are on.
The main game saw City lose 5-1 btw, some good looking players on show though.
Incredibly fast and a natural finisher. Impressing and scoring at U18 level at the moment but remains to be seen if he can carry that on at U21 level this season. He is already tied down to a professional contract so we can't lose him for a EPPP fee like SambouOut of curiosity, what kind of striker is Ponticelli? Pacy? Strong? Could he step up to the 1st team this year or too soon? Thanks.

No sign of him tonight, not on the bench either
Is Kane Smith on the bench?
No, there's no trialists tonight
Coventry City’s new intake of first year scholars have joined the club full-time.
Here Academy boss Rich Stevens gives the lowdown on the Sky Blues boys who will be making up the club’s Under-18s squad this season.
Jordan Ponticelli
Position: Striker
Strengths: “Jordan is a year older and he’s earned the right to come in after playing a lot of grass roots football and played some adult football as well.
"He’s been part of the Strachan Foundation which is a great set-up with lots of good footballers with the aim of getting them back into the pro game. He’s a centre-forward and a real goal scorer and a scorer of really good goals.
“He scored eight or nine goals in just four or five games for the Under-18s when he first came in last season so has a real eye for goal and a natural in and around the box.
"He’s got a real hunger for football and having lost Bassala Sambou to Everton I think Jordan will be a real replacement for Bass and fill the void he’s left by scoring some goals in the Under-18s and I can see him pushing for the Under-21s as well.
“There’s no reason why he can’t and I can see Jordan really thriving in this environment. He really excites us.
“It’s a bit of a coup to get him because other clubs have looked at him. We played Huddersfield away and he scored a couple of goals and they tried to sign him afterwards on the car park.
Character: “He’s a Nuneaton boy and he was quite clear from the off that he wanted to come to Coventry. He’s a City fan and saw it as an opportunity to have a pathway. He wants success and I think it will be a really interesting 12 months with Jordan, I really do.”
Things to work on: “Just to get out there and show what he can do.”
Is that Wednesday or today? The U18s beat Hull 1-0 on Saturday away from home. Newly signed midfielder from Southampton, Billy Stedman, scored the goal. The U21s play Sheffield Wednesday today at the Alan Higgs Centre in their first home game of the campaign (2pm)
