TM contract renewal (1 Viewer)

Does anyone have a feeling for the minimum requirement in terms of our performance this season for SISU to think about offering him a new deal?? I'd have said 8th-9th at the least.

I do wonder if, assuming we're bumping along in mid-table in the earl months of 2017, whether both parties will agree not to renew and he'll leave before the end of the season.

Mid table. I would keep him provided we finished comfortably above the relegation zone. He's building for the future this season rather than last seasons short term stab at the play offs.

I'd go with this, we need stability and Mowbray is a good manager, although he's annoyed me a little by pointing out the squad wouldn't be ready until the end of August - he knows when the season starts, I'm fed up of coming into a season woefully unprepared

Dont think he will want to stay, he will see his contract out , and walk ..

Can't see him staying either way. But it depends on how long he thinks he may continue working before he retires. If he is nearing retirement, hang in for another year or two.

Mowbray a good manager ?? He started well, then faded and as yet hasn't revived much. His signings leave a lot to be desired in my opinion and the root of our problems.

I'm starting to think we're cursed, I can't remember the last manager who consistently signs good players - other than that I think generally he's a good manager he overachieved last season and I believe he can again this season, albeit once we get out of this slump

I think our budget is about 10th in the league.
So if he finishes 10th I would rather him have another year to build and add to the likes of....

Reid
Jones
Rose
RCC
Turnball
Stokes
Vlad
Bigi
Willis

With our budget the only way we will get there is if a manager is given time to build

But wasn't this a 2 year project according to him. If so, didn't he waste a year last year?

First year not wasted , but to have to completely rebuild , shows the plan for some reason did nt come off ?

He has to either equal or better last seasons final position otherwise he's failed IMO.

Can't believe people are saying we overachieved last season, that squad should have been top 6 minimum.

I think its highly likely that we not only have a weaker squad than we did last season more teams this season than last seem hell-bent on gambling on promotion.

I'd sign him up right now, at least for another year. Fed up of the merry go round. He's clearly building with the future in mind and i don't want the last 3 months of the season worrying about if he'll walk away or go somewhere else and any knock on effect that will have on the players.

No not for me. The man is fighting an uphill battle from the start. We are lucky to have TM IMO and he is doing his best on what he can. He saved us from a certain relegation and you say with the squad he has last year well he made that squad and signed them up.

We need to kick on I agree but I'm sick of the new managers at ccfc so stick with him. Unless he fails and keeps losing then fair enough. He needs time. Highest finish in many a year has to be classed as an improvement.

When TM got the job I said I thought it an uninspiring choice. In the run-up to xmas he had me happily considering admiting I was wrong (which I would still happily do). However, despite the sluggish start to the season, watching the Norwich highlights - what really struck me was the body language once the second (..etc) goal went in. They don't look a happy bunch to me. If they aren't happy they will struggle to give their best...so we will struggle too. Dont know if it actually is TM or not...but something isn't right in the camp imo

...onwards & upwards PUSB

This is the problem. Mowbray can do fuck all and most fans will just say he's got his hands tied begind his back

No pressure is there? He must think it's great. He totally fucked up last season post Christmas and how can he say he is waiting for quality after what he has shipped in today.

Been saying for ages that he has no pressure at all, easy job.

Lose he has his hands tied, win he is a hero.

It's like thorn again

He fucked up after Christmas but over exceeded massively before Christmas. Overall you judge at seasons end and we finished 8th which is around about our budget give or take.

He is facing troubles a lot of other managers don't have like losing an academy and being homeless in 18 months.

If he keeps losing games he will pay the price as would any manager. We are lucky to have him. If he goes through some bad runs and some bad signings I will forgive him unless he totally loses it. He has done a lot of good for this club and we should appreciate him.

Oh come on. Never seen that. If he loses lots of games he will pay the price if he wins he has done a good job. Football isn't that hard.

He has pressure to wins games else he will lose him job. To say he has no pressure is plain wrong.

You're talking bollocks. Why should that squad finished top 6? Great frontline and good at home but you don't go away do you?

Sorry he massively under achieved in a very weak league last season....I genuinely thought we should be play offs minimum last year and he blew best chance in ages.
This year a bit trickier but he should be at least where we were last year or hit the road! Think he will walk if nowhere near play offs near end of the season anyhow!

Whether I go to away games or not is irrelevant. That squad with the start it had should have finished top 6, the relegation form in the 23 games following the Gillingham win cost us as did our away form. A lot of that is down to mowbrays lack of plan b and failing to come up with a suitable plan to stop the rot and get results away from home - I put that at the managers door more than the squad not being good enough. The league wasnt that strong last season apart from Wigan, and he'll struggle to get a better chance of promotion.

I would understand your beef if I had said that squad should have won the league, that would have been unrealistic, but given the start and thr players in the squad it really should have finished top 6.
