The real truth is that he is not really interested in anything other than attention. His main business interest in the past has been with various risk management companies. He is an asset stripper and will aim to make the club revenue neutral. I suspect he will be paid a huge fat bonus if he achieves that. What is happening on the pitch is irrelevant. Why the local media gives him attention is beyond me. CWR should give Boyden the job as Chief Sports presenter - he is a proper sports journalist behind the nonsense and would ask some difficult questions.
I just wish his initials were different...it gives me a complex.

"I couldn’t guarantee if we were sitting here with Barclays that they wouldn’t pull the plug on the business or any other business in the economic times we’re enduring at present."

Are we sitting here with Barclays? Nope. ENOUGH WITH THE BANK THING!!!

Well done Cloughie. You got there in the end :)

I think we seem to be on similar wave lengths. Similar things picked out from that interview, yet i bet if the CET did challenge his responses, he'd have just fed them more BS.

Hate is a strong word, but I certainly hate this guy!!

Agreed on Boyden, present bunch are spineless and lacking the investigative intellect required for the job.

... But KD, have you posted on the "bot/who are you" thread yet? :thinking about:

"So you are not Director of Football?"

"No, I am going to be running the whole football side, whether it is the Academy, dealing with transfers, the agents, the set-up at the training ground will all fall to me."

Sooo....the correct answer to that is "YES, I am in effect Director of Football". His denial is so close to an affirmation that he quotes the fricking job description...

I cannot stand the man, no not a man, the scum

"(AT's) stuck to his principles of playing football and the plus side is that he has had to bring youngsters in and they have performed well. So there is a plus side."

Yes, he's had to bring in youngsters. Some have performed well in patches, but been inconsistent and made errors that have cost us games. Whilst there is an argument that so have senior players, there is little doubt that some of the youngsters have faced burnout and been exposed to pressure when they needed, and deserved, protecting.

The main thing for me from that is the way he said he is 'Head of Football Operations' and basically runs the 'football' side of things.

So I take it this means Thorn just takes training and picks the team? Wonder how he likes that...

I had to laugh when he mentioned about a hedge fund being a bank but then mentioned he didn't really know how it worked
Also why has he set himself up in a role we don't need anyone for because he has said in his interview that we will be relying on the academy players. All I can assume is that the position is to oversee player sales.

Say for instance he has cut losses to a third from 7-10 million. Is this based current income what about the further huge fall in income when we are in division one does this mean he is still a success.

I presume that means he will be selling & not bringing in replacements from outside. That means more teenagers in the side then.

1/3 of £7-10M is about £3M per year, so does that mean he has to raise £1.5M to cover the rest of the year, do you think he will get as much as that for Juke?

Anyone know what he may be referring to in this answer about Hoffman / investment etc??

"There is no doubt in my mind that Gary is 100 per cent a Coventry man and really keen and would love another go at running the club." - Didnt he run the club under the leadership of SISU?? Even then, wasnt he only Vice-Chairman??

"But he had about three years and during that time they lost an awful lot of money, so he’s probably got difficulties as well in convincing investors that it won’t be the same again." When havent we been losing money??

Just noticed on the 'Who's Who' page of the CCFC website, it lists Tim Fisher and Mark Labovitch as directors. Who are these?? I dont think i've ver heard of them :thinking about: Page was last updated 15th November (so we still have Dolittle as Chairman too).

COVENTRY City has strengthened its board with the appointment of two new directors.

Banking and finance specialists Tim Fisher and Mark Labovitch have joined the seven-strong board.

Fisher, who has been advising the club for several months, is a former investment banker and the current chairman of Calimere Point, a group of companies offering financial advisory services

The group provides merger and acquisition advisory, financial re-structuring and financial engineering solutions to a financial institution and corporate client base.

Their client base includes some of the largest investment banks and asset managers in the world. Calimere has provided support across numerous sectors and regions, and clients in the leisure sector have included football clubs in the UK and Europe.

Fisher has worked in financial markets for more than 15 years and prior to establishing Calimere Point, which has offices in London and Chennai, he held a series of senior posts in investment banks.

Labovitch is currently CEO-designate of GEMS Ventures, a division of GEMS, a Dubai-based group which is the world's largest private-sector school-age education provider.

He spent 20 years in investment banking in London, New York and Frankfurt, focused on the media, entertainment and sports sector and advised a number of leading US and European media companies, including broadcasters and rights distributors connected with football.

He served as a director at Independent News & Media, the international media group which published numerous newspaper titles around the world, including The Independent in the UK and - through its associate company Jagran Prakashan - Dainik Jagran, the largest daily newspaper in India.

Labovitch has Coventry roots - his grandfather owned a retail business in the city from the 1940s to the 1960s.

Chairman Ken Dulieu said the two new directors would bring massive financial expertise and contacts to the board.

"These are two very important appointments for the future of Coventry City," he said.

"Tim and Mark both have a wealth of experience in business and finance, and both have worked with sport and leisure companies.

"It is no secret that we are talking to investors and want to attract funding to the club. That will be one key role for Tim and Mark.

"I have said since I took over that I want to build the team on and off the field with the long-term aim of success and stability.

"We have a very strong board with a wide range of talent and expertise, and Tim and Mark only add to that."

Cov Telegraph on the ball there, asking probing questions about their effectiveness & fees, NOT!

Not 3 years as vice chairman and we could say saint ken has lost alot of money in 8 months if we beleive the figures he quotes as to what we are losing. And wonderful saviour ken of the delusional just how many investors have you brought in . A big fat zero or should we ask how many have you scared off so you can collect your fat wage packet?
