Progressed Teddy Bishop to a first team starter before he was injured. Made Tyrone Mings into one of the hottest prospects in the Championship after signing him from non-league Chippenham Town for £10,000. Aaron Cresswell is now on the fringes of potentially being called up to the England squad after a number of assured appearances for West Ham.

He seems to get the best out of players in my opinion. This even includes the experienced Daryl Murphy who has just been sold to Newcastle. If you look at his record he was relatively average in front of goal until the 2014/15 season at the age of 31.

All entitled to our opinions but where's the evidence for yours because it seems to me that McCarthy is excellent in developing players?

Robbie Keane was absolutely glowing about McCarthy on his international retirement statement

I assume you know how long it takes to get from Yorkshire to Northumberland he will not be popping home from there. Barnsley is a bad place to live vs lem spa. If he is leaving Newcastle I see Leeds etc. being his choice but if at 19 he wants to bang the goals in to enhance his rep further why not at ccfc.?

But went on loan to Hartlepool and made 25 appearances. A year older with more experience...3 year contract, so they may see him as a longer term signing, but good enough to strengthen their squad.
