I like my fellow supporters , my bug bear for 40 years has been the idiots who constantly look for the negatives in every aspect of this club and seem to get a perverse satisfaction out of it too .

My pulse courses sky blue blood and always will , for me Mogga is the best thing this club has had for 10-15 years and I want him here for a long time . He is laying the platform for succes in my opinion yet certain factions want immediate success for a club that has been sinking for the same 10-15 years
Agree with most of that, it's just that on another thread tonight you write a post about idiot fans
Booing and getting on players backs, then four posts down your slagging off Burge.

Congratulations , that's the most positive thing you've ever said on here
Tbf you obviously been grinding his gears, because Stu is usually one of the more reasoned and respected posters on the forum. Not normally one to throw a 'fuck off' in the mix.

My Burge post was replying to another comment , I've nothing against Burge but he is dreadful and probably on a good whack too .Hes one I would like to his wages reinvested in another 1-2 players with the Mogga potential

Scored 4 goals in 34 games at Conference level last season. Excuse me for not being excited about that.

Who is saying be excited? You could give the lad a chance though couldn't you?

Highly touted ?

As opposed to.......
.................................................
the 19-year-old featured for the Albion against Millwall last night in the EFL Trophy and didn’t look out of place. In fact he was easily West Brom’s best performer in the 2-0 defeat at the Den. He’s a well-built youngster who is powerful and pacey while his touch and technique has improved massively in recent years.
.................................................

Give the kid a chance !!
Andre Wright's record for the WBA U21s last year: 21 games, 2 goals.
Adam Armstrong as a 17-year-old for Newcastle U21s: 14 games, 11 goals.

I do want him to be good, but I am just frustrated at the fact that yet again we have left it so late and signed a player who may not even start, never mind score goals. In my mind, we should be signing better players than this.

I don't think we sat around doing nothing all day. Perhaps a few other enquiries didn't come off.....do you expect TM to just stare at his navel if he doesn't get his first choice?

I think the midfield and front players will become narrower and we will only play a front two with a Jones , Lamieras , sort of player behind them

This is one hell of a straw man you've pulled out here. I apologize for not being a full-time scout and having a shortlist of players to go through right now at Midnight on deadline day, never mind having three months to do it like Mowbray and Venus did.

Exactly, you were doing what you keep moaning about other supporters doing, doesn't

Glad you agree how difficult how must it must be with every club at every level across Europe trying to recruit the best player .Guess it's ever so easy on LMA Manager ?

Reid
Jones
Lameires
Gadzhev
G thomas
Wright
Agei
Sordell

Can all.play wide of striker it seems

Not all convincingly, we really only have Jones, Reid and Lamieres who are proper attacking midfielders wingers, and in fact we only seem to look at our most dangerous when Jones plays. We are lacking that bit of cutting edge/guile in the final third. Think Vardy on the left for England, just doesn't quite work. I thought both Agyei and Sordell were disappointing in those wide positions on Saturday, having seen sordell play in pre season I'd assumed he would be the focal point through the middle.

I'm disappointed to have missed our on RHM, lad at work was absolutely racing about him when I mentioned we were in for him.

I'm not sure what you want from me.
In my opinion, we have signed a player seemingly for the sake of just having a new striker. He does not appear to be better than anything we already have.

If targets aren't available they are not available. I am sure TM put a bid in for Armstrong....but he was always going to stay at Newcastle or go to the Championship. Probably helped us get Sterry though. I suspect how well Arms did helped us get Agyei.

I am not sure who our fans expect us to bring in as a League 1 club? We have a few half decent youngsters ourselves....certainly seem more equipped than Premier League West Ham....their manager saidit was men against boys; Burge 23, MCann 29, Sordell 25 and Tudgay sub 33....the rest all under 23 several 18 or 19. There is a lot to be cautiously optimistic about.

So as the window closes do you take a punt (even if not your first choice) or go without?

I would give the lad a chance.

I don't think we play with wingers, the forward three are more of a narrow triangle with the point as the striker from where I am sitting. They drift wide, but they aren't wingers - that's the purpose of having wing backs.

It's an odd formation.

Write up on Andre Wright on the telegraph from a west brom reporter.
Andre Wright is an out-and-out striker who plays in the no.9 role with the club’s under-23s side.
He has spent time out on loan with Torquay United and Kidderminster Harriers last season so it will be first spell in professional football which is likely to be a big step-up.
However, the 19-year-old featured for the Albion against Millwall last night in the EFL Trophy and didn’t look out of place.
In fact he was easily West Brom’s best performer in the 2-0 defeat at the Den.
He’s a well-built youngster who is powerful and pacey while his touch and technique has improved massively in recent years.
The loans moves have really progressed his game and this spell at Coventry will be a great benchmark for him.”

To put some perspective on Andre Wright, he started the season on loan in a 15 game spell at a poor Kidderminster Harriers side where he started 4 games, he was regularly subbed off around the 60-70 minute mark and was a used sub 8 times scoring 1 goal in a defeat to Wrexham and also had 1 assist before returning to west brom in mid October.
Mid November he joined troubled and struggling Torquay United till the end of the season for a 22 game spell where he started 10 games playing 90 mins 7 times subbed in 3 and was a used sub 12 times. He scored goals back to back over Xmas v Chester and Forest Green and later in the season v Gateshead, providing 2 assists also.
Goal v Chester city (14.50 mins in)

4th Goal in win v forest green 2.30 mins in)

Winning goal v Gateshead (1.00 minute in)

Think it's still fair to say he's not played a lot of football and don't deserve writing off yet.

People are too hung up on traditional positions and 4 4 2. What makes Pep Guardiola such a good manager is his formation can change from week to week. Even if the formation is the same, the way it is played as a system can change.

Hardly anybody plays 442 now, but for Coventry fans it is a big dummy they like to keep spitting out.

I am not bothered what formation we play as long as it brings results 1 2 8 will suffice give the opposition something to think about PUSB

Love it, people moaning we aren't signing anyway, make a signing and people moaning about that as well.

Lets give him a chance before we all decide he's rubbish.

He's right, your view has become a bit distorted of late. You flirted with the Mowbray out stuff last season and it's in your thoughts now isn't it?
No not at all, I don't want mowbray out, my only point last season was he shouldnt be above criticism just because we hate our owners.

I've been pretty positive this summer.

For instance who had heard of Ian Wallace or Gary Gillespie when we signed them?

Agree with that, and i didnt mean wingers in a traditional sense, personally if mowbray was set on this formation, he shouldnt have signed reid, i meand mlre creative attacking midfielders to add soke creativity. You have to have the right balance in the front 3. Like I said, we only look at most threatening when Jones is playing.

Maybe not, but it seems like a comfort blanket for many. The players in the squad are young enough to learn adaptability. I would prefer adaptability over plan A and plan B.

I would say plan B is not to panick too early or judge people before they have hardly had a chance to kick a ball :)

I've not judged the new player, just pointed out we're lacking a bit of creativity, bar Jones.

yeah me too, but lets hope andre wright is similar in terms of his place. we know hes pacey at least
i think when other deal fell through TM would have been ringing around trying to find a player with similar attributes

re:stupot debate thats going on lol. tbh i think stupot been speaking alot of sense this preseason, he hasnt been lambasting TM or sisu and not putting down all players we have. he does have a point that we lack cutting edge without jones so i dont think hes being negative for negative sake like our twitter fans.

i just hope with no tuesday games for a while that cutting edge will be sorted on the training pitch
