I think it's more than lack of budget and an inability to compromise. The quotation from Wenger is very telling and I would be interested in knowing when it was said. If it was 20 years ago, then he was been proved absolutely correct.
Why is it that none of our Managers, most of them with proven track records before they rocked up at CCFC haven't been able to cut it here for a sustained period of time? It's not just limited to Mowbray, he is just the latest in a very long line. If we got rid of TM, what would change to make the next Manager any more successful?

I really don't believe they do. There's no way we could be cost neutral and achieve it. It's as simple as that. The football is a distraction for them and if they can sit the likes of TF and CA in the club ticking it over at cost neutral that will be good enough for them and league position or league for that matter don't matter to them. Sure they'd take a promotion but it would be by accident not design and equally if we dropped down a league they wouldn't batter an eyelid past releasing some statement from Joy saying she has battered an eyelid before disappearing again.

Depends how big and where they want the Prem but have no idea how to do it or the funds to do it, look at Villa they spend about five years of our budget on the transfer fee of one player, the Norwich result shows how far away we are now.

Some real crackpot stuff doing the rounds tonight. The notion that SISU are deliberately trying to avoid promotion is absurd. It is completely devoid of logic. Our budget is bigger than most sides in this division, and what they want is for the club to achieve that goal without the need for a cash injection, by letting the club be self-sufficient and operate within its means. Will it happen? Well, no, it clearly isn't working, but it isn't part of a hidden agenda - other wise why chuck £200K at Jones? SISU may be an odious bunch of fucktards, but even they realise their only viable exit would come on the back of a promotion - they are just unwilling or unable to inject cash to make that happen.
Clubs with smaller budgets than ourselves has achieved promotion from this league - it will probably happen again this season. Genuinely don't understand why as a club it never seems to come together and we're destined to forever look at Burton Albion and others, shake our heads and wonder how the fuck they do it.
It really is pointless with you Gren, you know and I know JS struggles turning down offers for players never mind 5 mill for promotion. What we are polar opposite on is the fact you think Promotion is an aim of this club and owners. They have no idea, no ambition or no desire to handle the extra investment they would have to make on top of the so called 5mill they need.
FFS they are not interested in that, championship football doesn't come like a wet dream to them, its comes with every fear they had when they were stable finishing 15-17th every year. You need to look at the tenure and the facts of when has a first team squad improved and when did we ever have a summer when 1 or a few players left for decent money only to have same budget or a small undisclosed fee paid. Honestly a smaller club with a plan to gain promotion and to progress can do it, if they have the plan and desire in place.
If this plan or desire is at our club I haven't seen it yet or even thought that's in the realm's of possibility.

I don't think they'd be a queue round the corner for his services.
Also it suggests sisu can recruit the best so must be great guys to work for.
The club from the outside to any unemployed manager looks a big fish in a small pond so becomes attractive to all and his mother. So a debate on how many would apply is not really worth having any job will have more than its share of applicants. The issue is over the last 8 years we have seen every type of manager and none have come close to getting promotion in fact TM is the closest.
So for me the issue is deeper and more than a change of coach manger or players, we have to even if you don't want too look at the owners of why a pattern is a constant.

I think the problems run much deeper than simply a lack of budget. The entire ethos of how the club is organized and managed virtually guarantees the club's failure. That's why we constantly fail to do well even while clubs with smaller budgets than ours do much better than us. For example:
1. An owner (JS) who cares so little about the club that she has more court appearances than appearances at CCFC matches. What message does that send to the management and the players about the owner's priorities?
2. A team manager (TM) who shows no real interest or spark and who has visibly lost confidence in the club's CEO and owner.
3. A CEO (CA) who fails to do anything to promote the club to its existing and potential fans.
4. A CEO (CA) who turns away revenues by failing to ensure that the turnstiles are adequately staffed, thus making the club a complete laughing stock.
5. A chairman (TF) who seems to be a pathological liar with regards to stadium issues.
6. An owner (JS) and chairman (TF) who are constantly being outsmarted by the council and Wasps.
7. A chairman (TF) who damages the club's relationships with corporate supporters and therefore costs the club much needed revenues.
8. An attitude among the younger players that the club has no bright future and thus their careers are best served by playing elsewhere.
9. An attitude among the older players that they are just here to earn a few quid before they retire.
10. An owner (JS) that tries to extract value by suing the council/Wasps rather than building a successful club from top to bottom.
11. An owner and chairman that regards CCFC as a part-time occupation rather than a full time commitment.
12. An attitude from all senior figures within the club that the fans can be treated like mugs and lied to.
13. A CEO (CA) who seemingly has no ideas about how to improve the club's revenues.
I am not aware of any club that performs well on the field when it has so many off-the-field problems and amateurish mistakes.

I genuinely think because we are living off scraps
We need to allow a manger to install his ethos and playing style at every level of the club.
Allow the kids and young signings to develop then finally we will get our rewards.
Constantly chopping and changing is screwing us

As i have said a couple of times, I like what he is trying to do with Jones and Turnbull etc. I think it would be pointless sacking him now as somebody needs to come in and has no chance to get their own players. I just think more questions need to be asked of him, rather than all of the "it isnt his fault, his hands are tied stuff".
Nick but just maybe whoever may come in may have some people skills and be able to actually enthuse and motivate the team we already have? Also we would hope any new manager would be able to teamtalk and instil a tactical gameplan, also a new manager would use substitutes wisely instead of old compulsary 3 subs a game every game Mowbray, for instance Mcann our most promising midfielder goes of so what does our Mowbray do......bring on Tudgay a forward???? Doesn't make sense does it

TM has control of the budget (high or low ) for this league, this was agreed in his contract, so he and MV are to blame for the close season shambles of recruitment , he chooses the formation we are playing. he let players go at the end of last season He must therefore take some of the blame, we cant put it all on Sisu, may be most though. He TM needs to also stop playing a different team every match if possible ,he did this last season and it unsteadied the team and some players around Christmas time, most managers in this league pick there best team every match, we are not in the premier league and don't need rotation every match. If he wont change his approach then there will only be one outcome.
