What can all of us do to help the club? (4 Viewers)

Simple question really, how can we all as a fan base help the club and it's future?
What can be the first step?
How can we get all the fans united again?

Please don't make this a thread for people to argue, that won't help us all unite again.

How hard would it be to create a trust with far more members and voices than the current one we have?

Nothing, as Schmee said, there is nothing to be done ! Until SISU fuck off, there will be no resolution.

Whos going to take over? Who will be interested?

Most importantly what will new owners do that will be different?

Well, at least new owners might take an interest in the club and it's fans.

Sitting on our hands won't achieve nothing either to be honest.

Communicate would be a start?

Haven't the club released statements regarding the academy situation including letters to CSF?

Everytime I've seen a statement from SISU it always generates anger. Why would this change?

on matchdays i'll always back the team,
it's blatantly obvious, however, that the owners care nothing for the team or the club,
so, PUSB

Same as me I g and watch and aupport but the product is dire to watch and it's clearly obvious not just sisu but no one seems to care about us at all

Turn up and watch your team as often as possible. That's the only thing any of us can do. The only influence we have is handing over money in the hope that it makes it way to the team and cheer your team on in the hope that it raises our performance. After that there is nothing at this moment in time. Everyone else is going to continue playing their games regardless.

The only thing that might change is if at this time next season Wasps still won't talk about a deal at the Ricoh for us for whatever reason we need to mobilise some sort of pressure on them to get back around the table and secure our continued presence at the Ricoh past the end of the current deal.

Support the team but NOT the owners SISU, we the fans will be here long after SISU have gone. What league we will be in ,well your guess is as good as mine. And if SISU Liquidate, then we start again. Its so sad what is happening to are football club. :(

Find some fans of the club with business sense and some money, and make an offer? The issue is that football clubs are rarely profit making businesses without (let's be honest here) asset stripping. As an ongoing concern, we offer very little (as has been discussed at length due to lack of tangible assets) and "potential" and "history" doesn't pay the rent (pun lightly intended).

CCFC needs leadership, investment, business acumen and passion for the club. In the midst of this horror show - who knows what may come out of it, if the next owners are sensible enough to realise what is needed to take us forward, and can combine those qualities?

Protests may encourage a sale, but if there's no buyer, it's utterly pointless.

As for what new owners would do: Reinvigorate the engagement throughout the City? Bring hope to jaded fans? Negotiate with the stakeholders (fans included) and create a strategy to drive forward? Attract local investment (the stories I could tell you about sponsorship deals being begged for is tragic). Most importantly - bring the opportunity for TRUST back into the club.

Couldn't agree more. Boycotting, etc won't make any difference and it will only harm the team in the long run. As fans we can't influence SISU, Wasps, CCC, CSF or any of the other protagonists. The local press have made it clear they aren't interested, so it really is out of our hands.

stop moaning ,accept our predicament , accept the likelihood we could go down a couple of leagues , accept building with what we hav got , stop thinking back to the glory days as tho we hav a right to just get back to the top flight , keep supporting and stop making enemys of other fans who could help us in the future , and maybe get the trust to do a deal that if we on match days give the trust a pound then they will match it as a gesture to the future of the club

Exactly this, with SISU at the helm all we can do is stand and watch, like watching
The proverbial "car crash"

If the theory is that SISU won't sell up then we have two options:

1) Nobody buys tickets or merchandise - we starve the club of all money, the playing budget is cut and we freefall down the leagues until SISU give in (and maybe longer)

2) Everybody goes - irrespective of performances we all strive to attend as many matches as possible, increasing the playing budget and (hopefully) getting promoted. Being in a higher league and well supported might make us a more saleable entity or trigger SISU to invest more.

In my opinion neither of those things will happen, we will always have people going up the see City (as was demonstrated at Sixfields) and we are never likely to bring in even a half-full stadium when performances/results are not going our way. We can write letters, have marches, call CWR, contact journo's but realistically what can that achieve?

Strictly on match days we need to back the team and not single out individual players to blame. We have.to lose the culture of booing our own players

The club is well damaged the only thing that might alter things or might make sisu look at their reason for being here is if it starts costing them money. The best weapon unfortunately is not to go, it's our only weapon that might make our owners think. We are apparently budgeted for 14000 gates and currently getting less than 10k, this means our owners are having to put their hands in their pockets they won't like that

This is obviously an inflammatory question, but... if we were a community owned club right now, what would we be doing different to SISU? Ignore the history/hatred/court cases and try to answer objectively just looking at the football side of things. I'd say not a lot.

There is not a lot we can do except wait for Sisu to complete whatever they are doing.
I still can't see whats in it for them. I have no idea what they hope to achieve from the court cases or who will benefit.
If its CCFC then why not say that any money from damages will go to the club and fans can unite behind that.
I suspect that their silence on this means that its for their gain (recovery of losses) and as such they are using the club solely as a lever.
I further suspect that success at the club is not desired, as is a deal at the Ricoh or Higgs, as it would count against any claim for harm done to the club.

Or more likely cutting the playing budget and using player sales to break even.

I would imagine that because people are on here first and foremost we are fans of Coventry City FC... aka The Sky Blues... unfortunately we are not fans of the owners and very likely they are not fans of us but to be honest who gives a shiny shite what they think !!!

We as fans need to get it into our heads that unfortunately SISU dictate to an extent how our club is run, we as fans have no real say in whatever they decide so lets all try to get back into being fans and support Coventry City FC for good or bad and if it becomes a saleable asset maybe SISU may be tempted to fuck off once and for all...until then lets give our football club and team fans to be proud of...lets face it theres going to be bad times but hopefully we can make an enormous difference to the lads that play for 'our' team PUSB

Yes, I was as pissed off as anybody Saturday, but booing the players who came to thank the fans at the final whistle and telling young kids to 'fuck off', it isn't really on. I don't think there was any lack of effort from any of the players on Saturday.

Respectfully, I disagree. A community owned club would not have the barriers which are currently preventing progress. As I said, importantly, there may well be some trust and goodwill for the club locally and regionally too, which currently there is little or none.

It's only one or two that swear at the players. Most of us are supportive.
Trouble is that one mouthy idiot on the touchline when it's quite can be heard by the players.

Does it matter what we do ? Our owners have their own agenda and listen to no one , Personally I stay away , but to each and everyone of you , do whats right for you . It would be lovely if we could unite , but it will never happen .

What barriers do you think would be broken down by a 'community' owned club?

Can't disagree SISU burned all their bridges long ago, but in respect to running the club now - We've got a manager who pretty much every fan wanted, we've got players coming through the academy, we're bringing in youngsters on long-term contracts and we're trying to be self-sufficient. As a community club, I know Banbury United have those aims and if Banbury want to 'speculate to accumulate' then they'd be asking fans/local business to gamble their money. Looking at it pragmatically, I don't see why CCFC should be any different.

The parties involved are mistrusting of a corporate/hedge fund/evil overlord. Community owned clubs have a different sway to privately owned companies in practice (both good and bad). Local support is at a low point for CCFC, much to do with the actions of the current owners (rightly or wrongly - that's not for this thread), and reclaiming the asset that is the Sky blues for our City may encourage other stakeholders to be more willing to participate in negotiations.

Yep - the on field/footballing side may well be EXACTLY the same. For my money, it's about more than that though - the club structure, transparency and community engagement/PR would be different.
