Saturday's game - biggest ever. (4 Viewers)

For me, this game on Saturday is the biggest game in City's existence. This game will decide our season and possibly decide the future of our club. Lose this one and I could see us doing a Stockport and dropping like a brick. Win this one and who knows what could happen? Title challenge IMHO.

Let's not get carried away, still very early days with players settling into a new system and bedding in together.

My concern is that we're not as clinical and positive in the final third and need to 'ping' the ball about more playing one and two touch football in this area.

Really? If we lose its like Stockport?

Nothing like an over reaction from an influx of new signups or people from years ago

Nah, don't agree. I do remember though the Stockport game, our first in the Championship. We thought we would piss the league and go straight back up.

So we, on the outcome of one game.
A, drop to below conference level .
Or
B, challenge for the title.

With the same squad of players, give us a break mate, :arghh:

Yes we need a win to get our season on track but its ridiculous to say our season, if not the club itself, are done for if we don't.
While I don't think promotion is on the cards at the moment teams have been bottom of the league far later in the season than this and been promoted so writing us off as relegated at the start of September is a bit ridiculous.

Also remember the return game around Christmas time, treated my Dad to a hospitality package in the Main Stand to celebrate his 70th birthday. Stockport bottom of the table, easy 3 pts and plenty of goals we thought. Probably picked the worst game that season and lucky to get a 0-0.

Firstly, welcome to the forum. What makes a forum work is opinions. You have expressed yours, but I tend to disagree. I would give it another 6-8 weeks and if we are in the same position then we are in trouble.

I still see the team as a pre season team (unfortunately the current team did not fully play a pre season together, but that's another story).

But as I said welcome, it seems others are too quick to judge you by your newbie status including the forum administrator :(

The same was true of the Yeovil game in our 'League 1 Tour' season.:bawling:

So it's either oblivion or the title? You know there are many shades of grey between black and white.

Form will not improve till Rose and Stokes return, in 6 weeks or so. Just hope McCann is not still injured.

Some nice replies to a first time poster.

In response to the OP. It's a big game, morale is low, fans are disgruntled, the team has no form and we're in the lowest league position for decades.

So a big game yes.

Biggest ever - no.
Not quite as low as when we started the season on -10 points...

No, I think the biggest game in our existence was the FA Cup Final. It beats Millwall away any day.

win, lose or draw, Saturdays game will be forgotten by many a couple of weeks down the line, let alone years or decades.

For me, its not even the biggest game in the next 11 days. A home win v Oldham is more important

The fate of our season and ultimately our future, residing on the 7th league game of the season is an over reaction in my eyes.

They might be a new poster, but does that mean everyone has to agree with their opinion? If you post, you open yourself to reactions, negative/positive, be it your first or hundredth post.
