It wouldn't be my preference to be owned by another hedge fund, and one that will happily move clubs across the country if it suits them. Equally I support the team and not the owners so I would still attend.

The concern was they seem obsessed with building a Wasps brand over integrating into the community. Pretty much all of our sides play in blue and have Coventry in their name. Wasps have come in and not added Coventry to their name and play in yellow and black, fair enough as they aren't a Coventry team. But why not have Coventry in the name of their netball team?

With their obsession with building the brand how long would it be before consideration was given to pushing us in that direction. Not saying it would happen over night but I see them trying to gradually bring it in.

Go do your research and then come back - the furthest Wasps ever moved from West London was Wycombe. Their academy has always been in West London. The current owners, when they first took over stated categorically that Wasps were a London team. The name of the team under those owners was... London Wasps.

There was in fact the opportunity to move back to London, not least of which with Brentford when they proposed building a new stadium. However, getting the Ricoh for peanuts was just too tempting for owners driven by profit rather than ethics or history. There are plenty of Wasps fans who haven't followed them. There are also more than a few CCFC fans acting as apologists for them, which I find amazing, and some that even pay money to watch them whilst they screw the (Coventry) club slowly out of existence.

As for Wasps being a global brand, that's rubbish too frankly. How many people on this board had even heard of them before they moved here? Man United (much as I dislike them) could legitimately claim to be a global brand. Rugby, much as I like it, is a minority sport.

Proof: If Coventry City were in the top four of the Premiership what do you think the attendence would be when the second best team in the Prem came to visit? Compare that figure to the attendance for Wasps v Exeter.

The problem is , Mr Peeler, that no one associated with Coventry City has any affinity or interest with Wasps. They have stolen our stadium, our home, and therefore seriously denied us the opportunity to rebuild an already ailing club. Granted other parties can take the blame, but Wasps have taken a decision knowing full well it would be to the detriment of the city's football club and to the city's rugby club. I have absolutely no interest in the game of rugby, yet I have never disliked Coventry Rugby club but respect them for who they are, their history and what they do for our city. I do however, have no respect for wasps. They may think themselves a "big club" but they have no roots in our city and time will tell how long before their bubble bursts.
12,000 for their last "home" game suggests that with almost 60% empty seats their bubble isn't that big.

Well, I think interested in sporting success on it's own would be good enough. Look at Red Bull, they are involved with several sports - and are usually very successful. Success, and revitalising as in the case of RB Leipzig who are storming the Bundesliga, fits in with their image regardless of the sport.

My point being that Wasps first interest would Rugby, not football. I'd want an owner whose first interest would be football, not any other sport (but appreciate they're likely to have other business interests).
