In their 9 years at the club, how many of SISU's stated aims/plans have ever been delivered?
- Ownership of the Ricoh - nope
- New stadium - nope
- Open and honest communication with the fans - nope
- Organic/sustainable improvement of the club finances and the team - nope
- Sustainable academy - nope
- Probably other things I've missed

Wouldn't that go against RBC and Sports England wanting the pitches replacing at a separate location first? The Higgs is existing, also not in the Rugby Borough.

That's the way I read it but that could be my misinterpretation. I thought it was saying it was a loss of sports facilities in RBC area therefore the replacement also has to be in the RBC area.

if you look at the quote I posted in post 123 it would seem it's a condition of planning permission that they have to provide alternative pitches elsewhere.
I think it's a valid question, does that mean it has to be in Rugby?
Obviously, with sisu involved it could all be bollocks but it would be nice to know that they will never sell Ryton without a viable alternative been put in place.
I wonder how strict that caveat is?

The other question is does these alterative pitches have to make up the training ground. It's quite possible that the club could put two random pitches somewhere in the borough satisfying RBC and sports England that no playing surfaces have been lost but not for the training ground at the fraction of the cost of building a new training ground. Then just renting facilities at UOW for example as a training ground.

The clubs statement gives me no confidence that we're going to be moving to a brand new spangly training ground and this is going to be a huge step forward for the club and it's infrastructure. I'm guessing you're feeling the same way too?

They have been trying it for years by the looks of it so it is by no means new news that they wanted to do that.
What sort of money are we talking they could get / make from it? Say they started trying years ago then if they got the nod what would they have done then? That was pre Wasps at the Ricoh, Pre Higgs etc, so wouldn't have been seen so much as an "end game".

I did think the same thing too. Couple of mill in the bank for the land, rent a pitch a Warwick Uni for peanuts and to satisfy Sports England stick some goalposts in a field and chuck a bit of astroturf down somewhere. Job done.
