Not uncommon in the States for the stadiums to be publically funded. Hopefully any potential American owner realises we're an exception over here and accounts for it in their plans.

Ah, the franchise model, where local authorities build stadia at huge public cost to entice franchise sports teams to switch locations. Works well for the franchises as they jump from city to city to get the best deals, less so for the authorities and fans. I'm just glad that we don't follow that practice over here. Oh.

Sometimes I worry though. The desperation to be rid of SISU seems to enable a frenzy that allows others' failings to be glossed over. It'd be horrific if some day they left and we welcomed in a total shyster when... we had no reason to.

Yeah, the way we're set up is the danger that you have to be mad or a chancer to take us on... it's how we ended up with SISU in the first place, because there was no real structure to buy.

It's why the arguments about looking back before SISU are valid... and also the consideration that a clean slate may sometimes be better than the fragments of what we have left - I might just start that thread after lunch for a 'lively chat'

Oh don't get me wrong we have plenty on negatives. We are in a very bad position but we can't carry on like this? Something has to change whether it's for better or worse.

Sisu are not going to be here in 18 months time in my opinion unless of course we win every game starting Wednesday at get promoted. But sisu certainly won't be here forever.

My point is either something has to drastically change or a massive bit of luck. I.e getting promoted or winning a court case. Or someone can maybe buy us bottom of the cycle and work up. I am also mindful other owners may not be perfect also.

Was talking on Saturday about Bournemouth and when their bubble bursts when the money dries up with their situation.

Only have to look at Blackpool in league 2 after being in the prem just 7-8 years ago. Much quicker demise than us and they got big money in the prem. Where did all that go? Was that good for Blackpool?

But even Cardiff? Prem 3-4 years ago and a real chance of league 1 this year. Tan bloke in charge? Where did that money go also?

No I don't think he did. IIRC he submitted an expression of interest but didn't put in a bid in the end.

Or the sponsors Allsop & Allsop how do they view what is going on and how it reflects on their brand? .

How many months did it take for SISU to negotiate the takeover of CCFC? and surely any takeover has to be approved by the Football League, I really cant see this happening, but hope I am wrong

That is realistic, any new owner need £500m+ wealth backed by an active profitable business that makes money. That excludes Wasps 100% owners wealth more like £30m

So I don't know tbh...but what about Bournemouth? Fulham? Huddersfield? Birmingham? Burnley? Burton? Their owners have >£500m to wealth & £100m to spare do they? What makes those clubs more attractive to such people than CCFC?
I can't fathom it so I think it might just be a random theory from some self-declared 'expert' somewhere that someone else has latched onto & it's become the Gospel according to whoever perhaps?

I would think the best advice being given to SISU is to keep quiet and to ride it out. Lets be honest they are not well known for their communication and its quality. If they came out and made a statement even just "the club is not for sale" then it will only stoke the fires. Keep quiet and at some point the noise ebbs away. Its not as if it is easy for CCFC fans to protest directly against SISU so our owners probably feel protected by the various types of distance in place

Agreed. We can only hope the CT's timing is not random but more the start of something they have had a whisper on.

Well they'll never admit they had a whisper and claim that their petition (at least in some small part) encouraged SISU's decision to accept an offer.

Yeah but if it happens soonish it is going to be blatantly obvious it wasn't them, the same as Sixfields. They tried their best to get all over the march that wasn't them either.

It is just strange that nobody else has had that Whisper.
