If Sisu did something in the interests of the club for once and dropped the legal action then the pressure would be back on Wasps to produce a reasonable rent deal.

Hmm, I can't be but suspicious as to why this legal thing crops up now, you know.

And I would argue it, and how I'm not keen on bullies of any persuasion... except for the fact this thread is football league question related, so I won't :)

Wasps and CCFC are the 2 parties who can make a deal happen which is why I said to pressure them, the FL are going to shrug their shoulders aren't they? Hammering the FL isn't going to do anything. At least hammering and pressuring Wasps means they are the parties involved, the same as if an MP went to the RFU to demand Wasps give us a rental deal would be pointless.

It was like the academy, by all means hammer SISU and CCFC but hammer Wasps and CSF about it as well. CSF replies "door is open" and it gets left, CCFC replies "we want to talk" and there are FOIs, JCBS out digging and all sorts.

Ideally, everybody who has had any involvement in CCFC / ACL / SISU / CCC etc since 1987 would be dragged into court on the charge of mistreating CCFC where everything they ever did got scrutinised. Never going to happen, much more worthwhile than a JR though.

I could be completely wrong as I often am, and they might reveal everything and will happily eat humble pie.

Sisu can equally make a deal happen, your thoughts are too often blinkered.

It is strange though, nobody is ever saying don't pressure SISU they are just saying pressure them all and there is more chance for results

I rarely see you pressure SISU, Wasps yes CCC yes. Do you forget that SISU control CCFC. The ball is equally in the SISU court.

Do you forget that wasps control the ricoh and before that higgs and the council for?

It isn't as straight forward as there are many things out of the club's control.

I rarely see you post about football and your last post before a two year absense was about the council allowing a stadium to be built in Coventry.

CCFC/SISU have said for over 3-4 years now they want to build their own stadium. Wasps own the leasehold for the Ricoh Arena, they hold the cards, they have the final say, nothing is going to change that now.

Joy Seppala 26th September 2013
Ms Seppala maintained she has already attracted investors to fund the club for years, including the costs of building a new stadium in the Coventry area within five years

Now, have you questioned SISU/JOY/CCFC as to where we stand now? how far have we progressed? was it all lies? smoke and mirrors? calling bluff to enable a better position when it came to bargaining? who cares?

But for a supporter of CCFC and one that appears to be so passionate. Why do you not question the lady herself as to where we stand now? it was her words and we are now 3 years down the road and still no wiser. She and SISU led many supporters right up the garden path with false hopes. If this funding is in place, Wasps and CCC are not the ones that can make deals happen, SISU can.

Read through my posts, I have said it is lies. I said I didn't believe anything about the new stadium. I can't say I got led up the path about a new stadium so maybe some other fans have more faith than I do. Yes I'd love a shiny ccfc stadium thats all branded as ccfc, pictures of our legends and history around the place where we can buy a beer knowing ccfc are making money. It isn't ever going to happen, even if SISU did pull some money out can you see it happening in Coventry?

What people don't seem to notice is that SISU could go tomorrow, CCFC are still screwed from things like CCC / Wasps for another 200+ years. You say that Wasps have the final say over the Ricoh, but then contradict by saying that only SISU can do deals?

End of the day, if Wasps / CCC etc don't want SISU / Coventry City here then it doesn't matter what SISU do, they won't be here. Wasps can refuse to talk and just say "SISU" and that's the end of it. That's what I mean by pressuring them all, instead of just everybody then running back and shouting SISU OUT while Wasps / CSF / Council can do what they want and sit there pissing themselves.

All of this drop legal action is very strange, I'd say it is a great way of bargaining to get a better deal. Let's face it if Wasps demanded silly money then city fans would be high fiving they got one over on SISU anyway.

So to back up your argument, you decide to dig into post history and create a diversion to my point? ;)Almost a politicians reply there Nick :banghead:

Looks like I have to mention the 'smoke and mirrors' again, but this time not at SISU.

If they started to add more and more conditions or asked for an outrageous rent then rightly you would hope that the media attention would turn on them. Can you see Sisu taking that first step? I can't.
It does seem to me that there is a conspiracy between CCC, Wasps and probably the CT to get rid of Sisu. I just think that after all they have done and the way that they have behaved, no one will deal with them anymore. Few if any fans trust them, and it seems the council, local businesses, and charities feel the same. Unfortunately CCFC are caught in the middle and we are suffering. I am sure when Sisu go other parties will be more likely to help CCFC. If they don't then again attention should be turned on them.

Thing is, I don't doubt they are dicks to work, but people keep saying "yeah but the higgs, csf, wasps and ccc wont work with them" and those examples are all linked.

It seems like it is OK for people to be punching the kid (CCFC) because they don't like their dad, whereas I keep saying go round and give the dad an absolute pasting but leave the kid out of it.

Weren't you the one mentioning people's past posts and what you see and what you don't see?

Have a look through the threads where I am saying it needs finance experts to go at SISU and screw them up as SISU...

My post history I see relevant to the conversation, you searching my post history and stating you rarely see me posting about football would be what I call

obscuring or embellishing of the truth of a situation with misleading or irrelevant information
smoke and mirrors ;)

I refer to some of your post history, purely because your opinion is at times unbalanced. And any reference to your post history, would not be through me searching, but by being an observer for many years to this forum.

All of this drop legal action is very strange, I'd say it is a great way of bargaining to get a better deal

On two occasions CCFC/SISU etc have lost, so are you suggesting a continuation or pursing constant legal action will better our position? I would possibly suggest it has been detrimental to our position, and is at least part to why we are in the situation we are now.

Why do people drone on about sisu dropping legal action.

They won't.

The end.

I am not suggesting that legal action should be dropped. I agree with you, it has gone too far for that to happen. But to suggest it may get us a 'better deal' is nothing short of ludicrous. By the time CCFC/SISU have finished with JR1 JR2 JR3 and so on and so on, CCFC will cease to exist.

Who has said legal action would get us a better deal? I meant is an excuse to try and get a better deal. Is legal action really the reason they aren't negotiating?

I guess the only way we will know the answer to that is if legal action is dropped?

Personally, having started it, I'd like to see it go to the end anyway.

One of the problems with the Richardson putsch was we had a confidentiality agreement, so we never did know what went on... if only we had, eh.

I may have read your post incorrectly, initially it could be read as you stating that the pursing of legal action may better any deal CCFC may reach if a conclusion was to be found. I apologise if that is the case.

Who/how/why people are not negotiating is not something I wish to argue. It will always be subjective. I want to know what our owners plans are for the football club. Not what Wasps/CCC have done. I want to me as a supporter who funds the club with my hard earned money, what is their business plan? contingency plans? How they intend to implement it?

These are questions I would expect of any supporter of CCFC to be asking, but it appears as some only wish to apportion the blame game.

A suggestion Nick....

As a forum why do you not ask the members to put forward a set of questions collectively for all parties to answer about the future of CCFC? this includes CCC, Wasps and SISU. After all this is the largest CCFC supporters forum. Publish the answers for all to see.

I'm not sure how bad things were for Brighton when they were forced to leave the Goldstone Ground. Certainly they had no stadium, not sure about training ground and academies were not around then in the way that they are now. They did have the good will of the supporters towards their owners as leaving Brighton and going to play 60 miles away in Gillingham I think, was certainly not the owners fault ( as far as I can remember). When Sisu go it appears we will own nothing, only the name and the golden share. What gives me hope is that if a club like Brighton can do it, smaller town, smaller club, then so can we. The first step is Sisu going. While they are here nothing will get better. No one likes them, no one will deal with them, there is no good will towards them. We are caught in all of the negativity surrounding them. Once they are gone anything is achievable.

What are you on about?

I am saying if the issue is about a deal at the Ricoh the pressure needs to be on Wasps and CCFC to do the deal doesn't it?

The FL can't and won't do much as they have no control over forcing Wasps to even do a deal if they don't want to. If Wasps don't want to do a deal then they can't say "you are out of the league" can they? As I said, CCFC will just say "but we tried the only other place in the city and look what happened", especially as the FL have been involved at every step.

The Football League aren't going to get involved with things like the JR either.

It isn't like there are multiple stadiums within Coventry that can be moved to.
Haven't the wasps told Sisu what they need to do to start talking?

SISU are known to be almost impossible to deal with, everything is hard ball.

CCC,
Alan Higgs Charity,
CSF
CET
Wasps

Falling out with 1 or 2 of the above is understandable but they manage it with just about everyone important to the clubs future.
But Sisu are innocent didn't you know that.

Hasn't the hotel changed hands since wasps took over?
Think the only thing that hasn't changed is the casino which realistically you wouldn't want to change anyway as they struggled to get anyone in last time.

Wasps have even been agreeing F&B deals independent of the JV which strikes me as a bit odd. Why would Compass pay millions for the F&B and then let Wasps do their own deals?

Are they?
To be fair apart from RFC you are the only other person I have seen say that.
Just read the responses you get to most posts people don't say what they actually think.
I think Sisu are 95% to blame not shy to say that, others just hide behind multiple of questions and the I hate sisu but................
People should stand up to your convictions and then if you are proved wrong so what won't be the first or last time.
If I am proved wrong about the way I think so what will apologise and move on.
Just want my Team back to how it used to be before all this shit.

This is where i am on these questions but lets see what comes back

1 - Can you offer assurances that the EFL will not, under any circumstances, allow Coventry City Football Club to relocate again, even on a temporary basis, away from the city of Coventry? If the EFL is unable to provide those assurances, can you outline under what circumstances you would allow the club to relocate away from its home city? Not sure how they can do this???? They can punish is by points docking etc but if Wasps shit down negotiations then what can the EFL do??

2 - Have the owners of CCFC presented any tangible plans to the EFL which show they are in a position to resolve their long-term stadium needs satisfactorily prior to the end of the 2017/18 season? Clearly not but it would be good to hear what followed the Northampton debacle

3 - Would the EFL ever seek to force one its members into a resolution in terms of its long-term stadium needs? If so, what rules and sanctions are available to the EFL that would allow for the implementation of such enforcement action? Again in our case surely Wasps hold all the cards here?

4 - Have the EFL given CCFC’s owners a deadline by which they must find a long-term stadium solution? If so, when is that deadline and what action do the EFL plan to take should that deadline not be met? If not, do the EFL intend to impose such a deadline and at what stage in the process? doubt it but would be good to hear a response

5 - Has the EFL been asked to or have they offered to mediate in relation to any proposed negotiations surrounding a ground share agreement? nope

6 - The EFL says it is in regular dialogue with the owners of CCFC regarding its long-term stadium needs. What role is the EFL currently playing in the process of finding a solution to this situation? sweet FA but sue some bullshit response

7 - Are you willing to mediate during any negotiations between Wasps and CCFC? Maybe useful to get SISU to agree to an ultimatum but then sue years of further financial hardship as the EFL forced us etc etc

8 - What sanctions are likely to be applied if the club fails to find a long-term stadium solution in the Coventry area? more points deductions is the usual tactic for the EFL isn't it??

Apologies my post was tongue in cheek. In all honesty though I don't think anyone thinks they are innocent.

As for the blame game, previously, currently, and for the forthcoming future the problem is SISU. There are others involved but lets get rid of SISU first. Personally I still feel anger at how they ever came to own the club, and what led them here but that's another matter.

I respect your post and the honesty in it. You could well be right.

Like you I totally agree that I/we want our club back to how it was before all this shit.
