Important statement when Mark Venus was asked if he had any indication of where a new stadium or academy would be located.. he did not know..

What an astonishing thing for a board member to admit! There you have it no Butts, no nothing.

On the strictly football side his answers were quite reasonable.

Was that early on? I only caught from about 6.35 I think.

How are the trust planning on chucking shit loads of money in?
They don't need to they don't own it Sisu do.
So keep sticking up for them by blaming others.
They are putting nothing in but want everyone else to and then to buy into there model.
Sorry soon it how you want it will never work on this league, unless they can find another 1 million pound player to sell every year .

why would the club be put into admin?

I have yet to see an actual thought out plan that would give good reasons why it would be helping our football club.

Nobody thought SISU would put CCFC into Administration but they did!... And before anyone says "It was CCC/ACL/Higgs..... SISU knew exactly what they were doing by "Forcing it"

Sadly that's where we are. Fully endorse us being self sufficient and spending within our means. We have no intention of building a stadium and fans are walking away, resulting in a reduction in income, meaning spending will reduce.

Unless we get lucky with a manager punching above their weight, It's a continuous downward spirial

It was asking how the trust would do it, it wasn't sticking up for anybody was it?

Surely to correct me you would say "no, the trust / fans would be doing x y and z" rather than just shouting about sticking up for people.

The funding, management etc is a question mark. One thing for certain is more doors would open.

No you are deflecting from from the question you yourself started about self sufficiency.
Why ask about the trust we want to know about now!
You said it is the way forward.

So come on tell us how.
And how we can keep it that way?

No no one else uses it because it doesn't work that is the issue.
He said it had to work because his employers said so.
Twist it how you want if we are not self sufficient now with 8000 crowds then it can only get worse.
So what is there to grasp Nick.
Like he said players are getting more expensive so you would have to increase your crowds every year to keep the club going.
Who does it work for then? Derby? Forest? How's that going?

That still doesn't answer anything.

Doors would open to where?

It is the same with NOPM, nobody can actually say how and why it will work but you are defending other people by asking.

do you honestly believe that CCC wouldn't want to work and support a fan owned football club ?

How is it deflecting from it? The trust are banging on about takeovers with the press, would they not have to run us self sufficient too, or would that be ok?

I have said many times why I don't think it is that bad, unless we all want SISU to put more money in and increase the debt? People demanding them to invest money and them out at the same time, how does that work?

People just need to actually see we are in League 1, we aren't in the Premier League and we don't have any god given right to be anywhere near it at the minute. You only had to hear some on the phone in that they don't seem to grasp we are a league 1 club.

No doubt your answer will be "Well why are we a league 1 club?", and the answer to that is to look at the revenues in the Championship.

If you have an issue with self sufficient, why not start protesting for everybody to fill the ground to pay more players wages?

Brilliant model of everybody else is using it? Is this bloke for real? Self sufficiency is what all of football should aim for.
Completely agree. Given thr amount if insolvency issues football clubs have had the fa / FL and uefa should be doing more to to make FFP rules stricter.

I have no problem with being self sustainable, IIRC Swansea were pretty much cost neutral throughout their rise from league two to the premier league (made a loss in their promotion season due to bonus, etc). I can be done and it is the right thing to do.

At the minute that means selling players to cover losses, not ideal but necessary. It does sound from both fisher and Venus comments that the aim is to drive the costs down further to get to a position where we don't need to sell.

Whilst I don't think a new stadium or training ground will materialised, I can see why a company would invest in a capital project whilst still shrinking ongoing revenue costs.

How are CCC going to help?

I don't know, like granting permission for a stadium at butts, by liasing with wasps (who everyone keeps saying they have a relationship with) to give ccfc access to match day (and non match day) revenues, by working with the club to find a solution to the academy.

Surely like they have done with Wasps, an onside CCC would be an asset ?

It isn't clinging on to anything, if we got an FA cup draw there would still be a clamour for tickets.

19,000 signing an online petition doesn't say anything apart from we got about 10,000 more than that against Gillingham. Online petitions don't say anything.

If we go top of the league, loads will be back. If we got a cup run, loads would we back.
You keep saying this why? Nothing now will bring my friends back unless SISU go, it does not matter what happens if SISU remain more and more will get disillusioned and stop going, we're in a downwared spiral and currently I can't see any way out!

I really don't have a problem with self sufficiency, but I have a problem with Revenue first, Product second..... You don't go to a Horse race and back a horse because you like the name, you check form, the Breeding, and see who the owner/s are then decide wether to put your 50p on or not.

I'm not defending anyone. If we live within our means (the SISU business plan) and income is the same out goings, why wouldn't you, or anyone else want genuine people who care about CCFC to run it ?

No I wasn't saying you were. Just that is the answer that comes back.

I'm not the one demanding investment, so your question is wasted on me ;) I understand we are in League 1 and can't see the issue with self sufficiency as it is a great base to build on.

even better base to build on with owners that care about the club.

A lot of in fighting about how fickle CCFC fans are. I don't agree. To have as many as we still have going to games is a real testament to our following.

I want our owners to care as much about the club as I do. That really cant be too much to ask ?

Nick they said they needed 12000 last season then upped it how many do we need this season with our poor start 15000 it is not happening and yes it would be good to be self sufficient but we are years away.
And the longer we stay in this league the further it will get.
It is just a dream that all end up a nightmare.
