Listened to Mark Venus a few times and is it me or does he come across as a bit "arrogant" a bit elitist, almost part of The Sisu establishment , Their is an air of disdain the way he talks about the fans and situation of the club , Not warmed to him at all .

I think the situation is odd. He was TM's budget and admin man. Went into a directors position indicating that was the way he wanted to go. Fair enough.

TM resigns and he steps in on a temporary basis...fair enough. But now he is temporary until January. If someone comes in then they are straight into a transfer window without knowledge of the squad?

It all smacks of saving money. I hope Venus turns out to be our best manager ever. But the review date of January seems a poor decision. Surely it should be December? Either stick with Venus or give the new guy 3 or 4 weeks to assess the squad.

not at all.. quite the opposite actually i think he's objective and well spoken but that's just me. Time will tell whether he lead us up the table or not anyway, i missed the charlton match but the 3 games he has been in charge i have enjoyed watching us play

I still see this current situation ending very badly for us. But while the team pick up 3 points no complaints, just have a bad feeling about months and weeks ahead. Think we are in for more distraction off the field taking away any progress made on it.

Anyway good 3 points last night, so might aswell enjoy it while the good feeling is still around.

Pleasantly surprised at the win, especially the way we held on for the 45+ minutes second half. 3 points and up to second from bottom is a step in the right direction. But I find the gate and the numbers who will not go at the moment very concerning. Not to mention everything else.

I am sure the cribbage team that topped the Titanic crew league felt as elated the same as you and Grendal currently do.

Hardly elated is it? It is better after any win.

Still, there will always be a "but".

do you have to go to the game now to comment on the post match interview?

Well, I went to the game, is that ok, can I comment? And I heard the interview while driving home. I thought he'd seen the thread on here about cliches, and someone bet him to add as many as he could in....

I like Bruce. As soon as anyone disagrees with him or offers an alternative viewpoint, they become a "SISU apologist."

"Good game today, good performance."
"OH YEAH?!? YOU WOULD SAY THAT YOU SISU APOLOGIST!"

"SAW JOY EATING MARMITE. I NOW HATE MARMITE."
"Sorry Bruce, I disagree, marmite is delicious."
"FUUUUUU YOU TIM FISHFACE SHITSU LOVING NINCOMPOOP!"

That's a standard way of debating for a lot of our fans.

The other thing is.

"So you are happy with SISU?" because you pointed out that a dodgy free kick wasn't their fault.

Biggest moaning cunts in Block 20 last night. Berating players at any opportunity , any build up play is "negative" (including the move that created a goal) and they never cheer on the team.
Wish you whiny twats would boycott a few matches.

He doesn't strike me as arrogant. In fact whenever I've watched his interviews he seems the opposite, a man unused to the limelight - uncomfortable with being the one having a mic in his face and answering the questions.

Here's last night's post match interview:

Fucking hell, three wins out of four as manager, and someone strikes up a thread complaining that they don't like the way he talks. To be honest if he carries on like this I couldn't give a shit if he spoke in a foreign language all the time. FFS people will moan at anything.

I will save anyone the time and call myself a Sisu apologist as I am so keen on a winning manager.

Didn't sound arrogant to me. He was sounding positive.

I also heard the interview after the game ( on the way home from work )

That's why I made those Comments #4

And just to let everyone know I'm a Season ticket holder, block 20. ;)

He sounds to me like someone that's not used to that role and is being careful what he says so he tends to fall back on cliches.

I don't care if he has horns, so long as we keep winning.

Sounded like a lot of understated managers including TM. Nothing he said was surprising, nothing that made me think he was at a different game to me and nothing I picked up as arrogant. Clearly not that comfortable in the limelight but whether I'm a SISU apologist or not I can forgive him that.
