There was a boycott about 4 years ago.

So at least 3 years into their ownership.

this is an ownership & senior management structure that has always shown little regard for what the supporters think or say. as regards boycotts this ownership will respond to falling income by just cutting budgets even further.

Come on don, let not rewrite history. RR led the takeover, he was the chief strategist, he was the football man, he was the one who said going to the stadium was short termist, he was the one that sold them operation premiership, he was the public face and IIRC he also had shares and therefore some ownership. We know that sisu had little to with the running of the club in the early days and only became involved around the financial crash, which seems to have been the point that the strategy changed.

IMO RR duped sisu into making it sound like an easier win than it was, and sisu have said since that had they known it would have been this much of a ball ache they wouldn't have done it.

Not absolving sisu at all, their strategy since RR left has gone from disaster to disaster, but Uncle Ray has a lot to answer for.

I'm gonna leave it there, I really can't be arsed arguing about different shades of shit on a Friday night.

I am not disagreeing with you Stu, but he worked for SISU. It was SISU who bought CCFC. It was SISU who promised us they were investing their investors money to return to the Premier League.
Ray Ranson was not a seperate company who bought us then SISU bought us when he left.
He was paid by them and was their man.
When we moved out to Northampton. Let's say Hypothetically it was Tim Fisher's idea. It maybe Tim's idea however it isn't happening unless SISU rubber stamp the statergy it is their investors money.

Higgs should have got the most money possible that they should have got back no question.
Raping a children's charity is not a term I would have used no.
You suggested the council should have gave Higgs their share which I agree with. Now back to the point under discussion ......
So you never said no one else sporting franchise wise would come to the Ricoh?

I never said that, I said it was chronically over valued and no one would ever pay the offer price to us.

You said it was cheap and worth £60 million.

If you bought the Ricoh Arena for £60 million. It is cheap. It cost more than that to build

You was proved right on the Ricoh being a worthless white elephant?

1, Do you know the meaning of 'white elephant' ?

2, How much did Wasps raise on it?

I disagree with this. I think they both knew it was high risk for a high return if it worked.

It didn't.

But it was always short termist, and they all knew that. Everyone involved should be culpable for that however, and the short termism of the club just carried on from the strategy we'd chosen ever since, well... Richardson(!) left.

Paul Fletcher sold 'Operation Premiership' and the seats.

Sorry yes he did. I'm talking about the internal strategy (i.e. invest in uo and coming players in hope of getting promoted and making a quick buck, rather than sort out the stadium, etc and getting the foundations right) rather than the Paul Fletcher initiative.

A constant investment higher than income??
Just so you're aware, as most people on here obviously aren't, you can only spend 65% of your total income on you expenditure! Also adding to people's arguments saying we have a shit budget! Our budget is all the fans allow as we only make money from ticket sales. So whilst people are boycotting games we're going nowhere!

No. the problem is we have no income to ride out fluctuations in attendance levels.

Yes I do know what the meaning is.

I think it's you that fails to understand the meaning.

Wasps haven't raised anything on the shareholder value and thry haven't on the current value of the stadium at all. If it fails the stadium company defaults back to the original lease which as I said all along was without value.

Interestingly many on here claimed Higgs couldn't sell below what they put in due to charity commission rules - this was rubbish.

Question though to those who believe that. If - as you clearly believe - the valuation of the company shot up to £48 million - then shouldn't Higgs have retained their share in the company. After all wasps only purchased 50% initially - unless that statement wasn't true,

I'm sure it was. Wasps are such honest, straightforward guys to do business with.

Have you noticed Grendel that the arena has just won the telegraphs business of the year sponsored by Jaguar:facepalm:

Anyway back to the OP.
Cuts in funding and the failed delivery on the promise.
Let to cuts in the crowd.
Not the other way round.

Should we adopt the Walsall model of sustainability do you think?

I would like the model of sustainability where the owners can get deals done with vital partners.
The one where you sign the Jodi Jones' and sell them in for a profit after a couple of years. However you are not selling them just so the club can actually survive. You are selling them in order to buy the next two jones' and get promotion

Why don't you just admit that you was wrong? Wouldn't have to keep bringing up each time that you bring it up then.

He is wrong quite often we just have to know he is wrong.
That's good enough he will never admit it himself.
He felt no one else would come to the Ricoh.
He said the owners were only bluffing about going to Northampton.
He said he would never go to Northampton.
He was encouraging the owners not to agree any rental deal offered and keep pushing till ACL are destroyed. He couldn't understand that that policy was ultimately going to backfire.

He said Bigi is shit.

That Mark Robins is an amazing manager and can turn things around with any set of players.

All wrong.

Non ever admitted :)

C'mon Dong...for all intents and purposes, it was the Ricoh for 250 years. Let's not pretend it was anything else.

It wasn't though the Ricoh cost over 100 million to build.
If you buy the Ricoh bricks and mortar for £60 million it's a bargain.
ACL for 6 million plus a 14 million loan. Is also a bargain in my books. A deal we said we would not have took on!!!

They have bought the lease for longer than the ricoh will last, so it's the same anyway
