I believe scoring goals is 50% mental (maybe even a higher percentage). You can have the hardest most accurate shot in training, but unless you have the ability to be in the right place at the right time and composure to execute the shot, you wont get many goals. And obviously, due to their rarity, players who have that ability cost money.
The best striker I've ever seen for us was George Hudson. He could do it all, silky smooth ball skills, great header, shoot with either foot, very composed, hardly ever missed a chance. A player like that comes once or twice in a lifetime.
