If any scouts from Burnley and the Baggies have been in attendance at any of our games I think that list will gain a couple of names.

Any free agents now are surely going to be well short of any kind of match fitness.

I can't really believe I'm going to advocate this as It means I've been driven down to it.
My view is we go from January with what we have at the Club that Is our own then any free's we are able to afford or attract, possibly none.
Then take whatever happens.
Agree with you wingy

They wouldn't be able to play if recently released would they? Which means they would have probably not played since last season at the minimum.

I'm available apart from a holiday early January. I'll work my bollocks off and can guarantee I'm better than Wright and Agyei

Don't worry. They're both paying like they're on the beach. You'll fit right in.

Who ever comes in January will need their head checking. We are the laughing stock of the football league

No.
But that fact doesn't mean we can sell the club to get better players. If you were a player would you be sold on coming to play here.

It depends on what "better" means.

The "better" players Scunthorpe have or the "better" players that Mowbray was after that are playing in the League Above and taking a Championship wage?

We need a Bobby Gould to pick hungry and nasty fookers to keep us in this league. Blokes playing lower league football not afraid to kick some fooker in the air and get the ball forward to a nasty niggly c**t who can bang a shot in from 20 yards. We are totally bereft of experience or someone who can get in the box. Tudguy showed to be too old so lets get fighters willing to play for £400 a week and kick start a career .

We need 4 or 5 mature footballers. Not kids, not retirees.

If we don't strengthen the team in Jan I think we will get relegated. Even if it is 2 or 3 players in the above bracket.

It isn't a joke, it's fucking desperate!

If you are looking at free agents then its really hard to find mature players that fit the bill, that was TM problem, he wanted the right players but because of the age, location and knowledge of the individuals and agent we got left with what we have now. You have to wait on what you want or gamble the money in the pot on sub standard fill ins in the loan market. The players this squad need will have already of signed multiple deals so will be looking at what any deal with us will cost them. Location, Housing, relocation of family and schooling all come into the equation for any player, Its not just a simple as saying i can max at 2 grand per week but you have to move from up North or South. The players who have been offered this works the system and gets the agent to go to nearer clubs and says 1500 or 1600 a week is a good deal for my client or even less in some cases.

We dont have any room for mistakes with players, we have no depth in quality and certainly have no club structure to really sell to any potential player moving a family to the area. So we have to look closer or have to break a pay structure which is not going to happen, we need players but the 24-28 year old's from higher levels of football are not knocking our door to come. MV, TM or Ferguson would struggle at the moment at the club and if gates keep falling then come Jan players out with no replacements could be a reality.

No budget left to sign anyone, hasn't that been made clear? Is it that hard to fathom? No-one noticed how long we've had an interim manager? A player who has retired but not replaced? A manager who walked to save the club money? wake up.

Agree, not going to be easy to improve this squad with what we have, even if 2 players are sold how much of that will come back into the playing squad/ my guess nothing..

How can Ricketts be replaced before January? Maybe we should get a free agent in who hasn't played for months so you can get angry about that?
He didn't walk to save the club money, he walked because he didn't have a clue and fucked up recruitment.

The idea in September was to get frees in, how did that work out?

He openly said he would walk to save the club money, so don't talk bollocks.

Ah, so you are going to only pick and choose certain bits of things he said to suit?

He also said he was to blame for recruitment didn't he? He had an awful record.

Yet it was Venus signing them wasn't it? You know the guy in charge since he left? The guy who negotiated every transfer whilst he was here?...

You say he screwed recruitment up yet never signed any of his targets, so who brought the shit in that we witness right now?

He didn't walk in order to save the club money.

He walked because he knew he had screwed up and decided not to take any money because he knew the club's financial situation.

It's more than a subtle difference
