What would happen if? (1 Viewer)

Hi

What would happen in the event of SISU walking away from CCFC,ie liquidating any assets throwing in the towel?

What would happen to the "Golden Share" would the Football League put it up for auction?

Regards.

The golden share would go back to the football league and ccfc would be kicked out of the football league
and if were to happen only 3 would get relegated from league one, 4 promoted, and an extra team promoted into league two from the conference. It would not go to auction. We would have to start again somewhere between the 8-10th tier.

Yep, which is why I'm not one of the seemingly growing band of Liquidators on here.

We would slot into the highest league that would accept us. Even if that meant a league had 23 or 25 teams. If those teams voted in favour it would happen.

"Remember you are not a leafy suburb, you're a City of 330k people. You will significantly increase revenues for any league and for it's members". I was told this by a League chairman. When Pompey were in trouble, in the event of a liquidation the Southern League were going to accept them into their Prem which is the level below Conference South.

It's a hypothetical situation which hopefully will never happen to us. Mind you it'll happen to a big club at some point with the way how the game is going.

If we need to start from the ground up but it means we change owners (hopefully for the better) with a 5-10 year plan we can all aim for, I'd take it.

I reckon because we are so angry about being a mid table League 1 club we should go bust, make a new club with the aim of getting into the football league one day. That makes sense.

Liquidation would mean the end of ccfc, any new club would be just that, new, no Jimmy Hill, no 87, no Tommy Hutch or Dublin and Huckerby. When I sing city 'till I die I mean it, if this club is liquidated then that would be it for me, I'd go and watch my local team occasionally and suspect many others are the same. I don't get why anybody could ever wish for the death of something so close to their heart.

Same for me, 47 now supported City all my life along with Brother, Nephews, father and
Grandfathers before and my own son now. If we folded and went down the AFC route
That would be it for me, would never be or feel the same,:(

Don't think it will happen though :) hopefully

Real answer: whatever the FA feel like doing.

You can quote precedent and rules but there's no evidence the FA follow either.

I'd be willing to bet if that happened and we made a stink about how they broke their own rules to give Sisu the share last time they'd be pressured into clemency. Not exactly known for their backbone are they?

We were liquidated last year.

Nick, We are DYING as a club, when are people going to realise this. NO ground, losing the training facility, Academy facility including Category 2 status if not careful, we've sold any decent player we've had, we sell our academy players after 3 good games, we now average about 8-9k for Saturday home games, we have no money, we are in debt to SISU, we are on course for relegation to League bastard 2.

If it means we lose SISU and can start again under new ownership thats right for us, I'd happily drop 3 or 5 leagues. It's going that way anyway. The only other option is they sell us but they will want too much for what is essentially nothing. What fans want is a path, direction for success and then progress. Never happening under SISU so what choice do we have.

It isn't losing SISU, it is losing CCFC. I don't think you realise that, you may as well just go and support Cov United or Sphinx now, that's the reality of it.

Has the training ground been lost? Has the Category 2 status been lost?

It's all well and good you saying "When are people wanting to realise this" but you want to end CCFC to start another team who's ambition will be to get where CCFC is now.

Meanwhile people just expect us to be a top championship team, I suspect it is time for them to realise we aren't unless we have a rich arab type person come in and throw millions at the club.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love for that to happen, but I can't see it.

We know this is a shit situation and we all desperately want sisu gone BUT not at the expense of ccfc. It wouldn't be us dropping 5/6 leagues it would be us not existing and some new club claiming the same identity as us being so many leagues down. The club that won the cup in 87 would no longer exist, not in any sense.

I dont want to lose CCFC Nick at all. We do need new owners, we need money and we need decent management. What I am saying is as it currently stands, we are losing CCFC gradually, we are dwindling away to nothing. Is that what people want then? I do actually expect CCFC to be in the Championship, why not? We have good history and size wise as a club we are decent and can attract big crowds as a 1 city football club. BUT we havent got the right to win matches.

There is a difference between wanting and expecting. There is nothing to say we should expect to be challenging in the Championship, unless we get an owner who is going to throw millions in to try and chase the dream.

I want to be there, we can't expect it though can we and get annoyed that we aren't?

And a phoenix club would have a ground, academy and training facility? Where would the resources come from to pay for the set up costs? Who would fund any potential losses?

Why can't people see past getting SISU out? Are we really that desperate we will let the club cease to exist. Before the usual ranting of dying a death, it's not. It's paying the bills and fulfilling its fixtures. Results are shit, not what we expect or want, but aint that life? Aint that football? People shout no success but does that mean if we had one successful season no one would want it again? Would they be happy with just the one season? Or would it be back to protests and shouting?

That's the thing, who is going to put in the thousands to build the infrastructure for that club as well. Even then it needs people to back it financially.

We need new owners that know what they are doing - totally agree. In the last 10 years we've had 2 maybe 3 chances where we had it right on the field - and we blew every one.

Do we need owners that will just throw money at the club? Fine if it's some billionaire that won't miss 100m, but if it's a medium sized local consortium - how long till they pull the plug on the money like every owner we have seems to do because they can no longer afford it.

This is why the decisions that the council have made will have more of an impact long after SISU have gone. Thanks to them (and yes SISU are at fault too) there is no infrastructure for anyone to work with.

New owners will need to fund a new stadium (and academy) if we have any chance of re-building our club and moving in an upwards direction. If we stay at Ricoh with Wasps we will slowly die - no matter who owns us.

I honestly cannot work out whether the CCC have made decisions for the good of the city or not genuinely. They didnt allow SISU the chance to buy the Ricoh which although would have seemed good for the club, they obviously dont want that shower to have it which we can understand can't we? Also they have let Wasps franchise their way up to us which is sporting terms isnt good but it has it's positives, ie economy boost, brings big sport to the region. Where I see a +, I see a - alongside it. I see your point though.

Zack, I am looking past SISU. The club is already heading towards ceasing to exist isnt it? Thats my point. With SISU in charge, No assets left soon to behold, no money to buy good enough players. The team will LIKELY be poor now and we will keep getting relegated with a team full of academy players who we will struggle with and then sell the potential ones to fund the business where it can and it keeps going. Sounds doom and gloom but thats exactly what it is. Either that or we borrow a Sunday league pitch forever with no outlays and one of us gets the oranges in for half time. SISU are up to their eyeballs in debt on the most idiotic decision they ever made in taking over a football club in the dim hope we would get back to the big time and rake in TV money/Sponsorship. Failed. Their shareholders must be foaming. All they can do now is fight in court to try and gain some ground whilst stripping us of every asset, again to re-coup what they have lost. What's the end game?

Let's face it though, why is somebody else going to come in and plough money in if it isn't for the hope we get to the big time and rake in the TV and sponsorship money? They would have to love the club dearly and have silly amounts of money to just do it for shits and giggles.

At the moment, the only "asset" we don't seem to have that we did before is the silly agreement on the Ricoh isn't it? We didn't have the Ricoh before them and we didn't have money to buy decent players.

It then begs the question what liquidation would change.

That isn't defending anybody before people try and give it that, it is just that we were screwed before they came in and they threw bits of money on a gamble and it didn't work.

I think there is a perfectly good stadium we currently play in that will want it's cities football to occupy. The owners of that stadium will want us there. New ownership will give them a clean slate to thrash out a deal to suit both parties including access to revenue streams. There is no cause to build a new stadium. With favourable long term rent and access to revenue streams the better option is staying at the Ricoh.

Lets be more honest here. We are already in league 1. We have one of the largest budgets in the league believe it or not! We nearly had a promotion season last term but ultimately failed. What's to say we can't repeat that and go one step further?
So why all the negativity about liquidating the club? That will set us back a decade and probably more than half that to get back to where we are now!
The answer is to remove SISU from our football club and hopefully replace with owners who have at least similar or more funding than we have now.

Why would the owners of Wasps give us revenue streams when those revenue streams are part of their income. The so called pie money which is CCFC related isn't the issue. The additional and worthwhile revenue is from concerts, exhibitions, other sporting events, which are not ccfc related

The question you should then ask yourself is why would they not actively seek the football clubs footfall of some potential 30+k for near 20 times a season? Sharing some would be far better than none of it right?
Furthermore when the football club reaches the giddy heights of the premier league what price the exposure for the Ricoh? The increase in the size of rent charged? The probability of a 32k crowd sell out for some 20 + games and the income that brings?
Simply put they would not want us to build another stadium when the current stadium is underused by them alone and turn away that kind of income potential even if they shared some of it.

Because the potential of 30k for 20 games a season is a million miles away.

They don't need to actively seek anything, they have it anyway ;)
