as an employee at the club does not fancy having a go up front.
CCFC is a very small business and his role as FD would be a couple of days a month, not sure you can read too much into that or may be its the start of good things or really bad things, who knows but there's more movement on our board than there was from our strikers recently.

Well I've just checked the site and he clearly is described as Commercial Director so I don't know why CWR said finance
Wonder if it's my lugholes.

How long has AB been with the club & what have been his achievements in the Finance or Commercial field whilst he has been with CCFC ?

What does the commercial director at CCFC do?
I looked for a "remit" for a commercial director in job vacancies as a comparison.
Got this one ( allbeit for a retail company ):
'The remit -
- To drive brand development, spot trends, develop new lines
- To set and lead direction / strategy for all food and non-food purchasing
- To develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- To ensure all needs of customers are being fulfilled
- To provide timely management information
- To meet all legal, ethical, and trading codes and policies'
Some of these points don't apply of course, but a lot do. He had only 6 months in the job, but did we notice improvements in the fields usually covered by a commercial manager?
If we have no leader in these fields, how are we going to develop our core business- the football team?
We now have no ops director, no commercial director, half a technical director and a managing director who has plenty of other business to attend to.
The staff must be under tremendous pressure.
Either there is a clever get out plan - or something must snap.

Hope it's the former - although would we recognise the 'snap' any more? At least the secret santa amongst CCFC management will be easier to work out between the 2 remaining board members!

Honestly, would you stay if you could afford not to?
Only Fisher has any kind of vested need to stay (and *that's* arguable if he doesn't want to work in football again). This bloke got his promotion from Stoke on his CV, and can quite happily point out any failings aren't of his doing.
I'd be off ASAP in his shoes!

Probably been offered more money and less headaches elsewhere.
After all owes no loyalty to City.
Most of us would have killed to work there.
Just not at the present time.
I'd like to think it's a response to some of the arbitrary negative decisions recently taken, if they were in his remit.
Namely only opening one stand for the Morecambe replay (If it has to be one make it the other side.
At least if there is demand you can accommodate 10K. not have a ceiling Of 2k.
Secondly the mass checking of tickets either going in or when within the stadium.

Failing business, no resources, no cash...
Wouldn't be my first choice of employer unless I really, really loved my job.

The problem for any the individuals in these 'Director' roles is that largely they direct nothing. The club has a plan based on x gates, the commercial director has no say on player acquisitions or sales. If the gates are not achieved then somehow the commercial director has to sell or make potentially unpopular decisions. They still have no say on players.
In the current context, only a glutton for punishment would want the job. Your bosses are tying your hands behind your back while your customer base hatches plans to make your job even more difficult.

Adam is a decent guy and has made a difference since his arrival. The club will be a poorer outfit without him. There has been a number of problems that he has fixed and went above and beyond to do so.

More seriously, it is a hard job at the moment, isn't it all about trimming costs and zero expenditure, not a lot of leg room for initiative in that sort of environment.

I have to say, it seems strange (although not a surprise the more I think about it) that we have so few directors. I can't imagine any other club with so few directors. I might well be wrong though.

We've had next to none before though, when Clarke bogged off we didn't even have a chairman, had Fisher and Brookfield (Was Waggot a director at that stage?)

He wasn't on the company board so was not a director of the company and his duties seemed to be on the developing of income streams and marketing not finance and budgets. Seems strange that 4 months later he is on his way out
Steve Brookfield was not a director either and his duties were very different to Andy Brierley. Brookfield's duties covered the finances, the accounts and budgets of the club
