And the council rejected one of the interested parties before we ended up with SISU as they wanted to develop land around the Ricoh. Recall the council leader at the time (Mutton I think) declaring it wasn't a development opportunity.

I thought, from memory, that Mutton met with Joy and that Joy was going to find investors for a development next to the Ricoh. Joy having majored in real estate, should have been able to put something together- regardless of the soccer club. She knows nothing about soccer according to herself. Would have thought a good relationship with the council and bringing investors to the city, would have been a good way of going, pity someone else ended up doing it.

I'm not digging out the Shapiro quote yet again, so you'll have to :p

Was just a straightforward spunkathon gamble originally for SISU.

Think it shows the 'waiting for Wasps to break plan' is wishful thinking

Is it? Is there any indication the are actually doing anything? One things for certain it won't be their money that's used.

Aren't the people who live near to car park c lucky they are going to have a big ugly hotel overlooking them, I hope the locals fight the council planners all the way.

Wasps fans must view things differently to us then, is there no uproar from them?
They don't seem to be too bothered about anything. Although saying that the only Wasps supporter I know was far from happy saying they should concentrate on rugby. And he's one of the new local supporters.

Does surprise me how more isn't said. They've just admitted, despite previous denials, that they've used the club as a front for property development moving them halfway across the country in the process.

Their own fans don't seem to bat an eyelid and you even get our fans praising them for doing it!

Currently there is a railway line then a car park to overlook from the back gardens of the nearest houses, frankly what is any worse about a hotel, hell they might even get a budget to have some green stuff planted as part of the planning conditions if they play their cards right.

Look at the beautiful buildings that have been built in the city centre recently.

It's not really much to do with our fans. Our main concern from Thai news is can we either strike deal with them long term as they are not going. If not then let's get on with Plan B.
Last thing we want to be doing is playing a waiting game that actually is going nowhere
