He doesn't seem to know league 1. Getting wound up because we don't buy players and use loans and frees.

Who were all of the Liverpool loanees?

Wonder what he would think if the silly starting line ups?

Plenty of other stuff like academy and ricoh he could mention rather then buying players. As we did buy players.

Another one of your... "It reads that way to me" excuses....
“I don’t think they can afford him because they won’t invest in players. They never invested in Tony Mowbray . Tony took over and him and Veno did well, turned results round with loads of loanees from Liverpool and all over the place but they had to go back.

It reads to me like loanees from Liverpool and loads of other Clubs.

Whilst I am as frustrated as everyone else
- our budget will not be anywhere near bottom 4
- 99% of transfers in league one are free or loans
- we signed 2 players in the summer (Jones and Turnbull) for cash (yes undisclosed like 90%+ of all transfers)

He is not talking about L1 he is talking about our club!!! and i would take his knowledge over yours on how the club is being ran everyday of the week with all due respect.

Fine.

Nick, i am sure he knows more than enough about League 1. What did he say that was so wrong? If the club buys a player, that means less money to pay player wages. Since the money pot is minuscule to start with, there is nothing wrong with saying there is no money available to buy players! The club is in a rapid decline. SISU have failed in everything they have tried to achieve apart from reducing the clubs outgoings.

They failed with their plan to gain promotion to the Premiership so they switched to trying to get the Ricoh on the cheap. That failed spectacularly and we have had a constant merry go round at the SISU boardroom. Their plan of going to Sixfields achieved lower rent but reduced the number of paying fans and caused a large number to join the NOPM campaign.

Tony Mowbray was the best manager the club could hope to have, yet SISU did not give him sufficient backing. We stand no chance of getting a known manager while SISU own the club - who would want to manage a club that is due to be homeless in a year and a half, in the process of selling their training ground, has openly stated they are not going to fund the team, and have such a disastrous record?

Sumo did not have to say anything - JFH would have found it incredibly easy to discover these details for himself when considering the position of manager, as would any other potential candidate for the job. This is why the job is still vacant so long after the departure of TM. Nobody capable of doing a half decent job would be interested in coming any where near the club while SISU own it!

And that said Torch its works the other way also, TF or any other Sisu conection will know more than me about the inner dealing of the club, its about who you believe.

I'm wondering if there's anyone's opinion on our perilous predicament some posters on here wouldn't dismiss.

They can't all be wrong surely?

Surely if you rant about not buying players you would have a look at the league or see if any any players have been bought?

I also know we bought.players

He is saying with the owners and current status of the club nothing will change until they leave, if Jose, Fergie and you rocked up nothing changes apart from the names they place in front of you as the new messiahs. But if you want to pick and misdirect then please by all means, keep the light off and let others see the true picture.

It would change if we had a good lower league manager.

It isn't taking the light off is it? Why would people rant about incorrect things?

I completely disagree why hasnt it change with the other 8 managers, they all get sacked, walk or give up,, Why is that Nick???? are they all shit and cant do a job or are they all tied no matter what is said by our owners.

But you think getting a manager with L1 or lower will help,, Nick let me tell you we have had more than half a dozen managers of that level turn us down!!!!! again why?

It depends if they say things factually wrong doesn't it?

Fuck me Nick ex players have been lining up to criticise our owners and you either ignore them, dismiss them or accuse the CT of doing anything to put the boot in. If I was TF I'd fucking love you. You are to SBT what Mr Strange is to the SCG. No one is allowed to be critical of the club or owners regardless of how dire things get.

It doesn't matter of level you compare, he is on about our club, his experience as a player is a non topic. Does he know the club? does he still talk to people within the club ? does he put himself around football people everyday? i would say yes to all, he is also doing his job, creating conversation and to have knowledge of what he is talking about THE CLUB....

Why was Mowbray the best manager the club could hope to have? We have seen the mess he made of recruitment.

If he knew that much he wouldn't be ranting about buying players, loan players etc. He would know that apart from a couple of teams that not many actually buy players, they rely on free and loan players.

He would know the top scorer in the league was a free transfer and that it's about finding bargains. The second top scorer was a free from forest green Rovers.

Every league team would love to go out and spend loads of money on buying players.

How often do we hear nobody would want the job? A manager would be onto a win win, for example they could sign about 6 strikers and 1 defender, 2 left wingers and decide they don't want to play wingers. There is no blame at the manager, if they do well they are a hero. If they do rubbish then it's not their fault.

It's the fact people keep going on about wage budget.and money, we don't have a bottom 3 budget. Mowbray openly admitted he screwed up recruitment.

The lower league is all about working with tight budgets, it's about finding gems like Chris stokes. It's about having a balance of strength, youth and experience and having a system that suits the plays you have.

There's no issue with ex players etc criticising the owners if they know what they're talking about. Mick Quinn is a presenter of the sky sports generation. Premier league is be all and end all.

Surely he would know it's quite rare league one teams pay a fee for players, our team is in league one. It's not the sky deadline day watching Chelsea or man city.

I'd be amazed if he talked to anyone within the club for years - why would he?

L4... Or L2 as it's now known has never changed in style of play since I was a boy, so Yes! Totally relevant :)

So how many players did Stockport sign for a fee during his time there then?

Again still does not matter, he can stand from the outside and say the club is in a state, it stinks and the owners dont care... FFS the manager validated over the weekend the same, but somehow you and certain others keep singing the same tune. It didnt have to be Quinny who said it, most fans see what he is saying and kind of agree with the sentiment.
