Was thinking about this a lot recently. Which players in our squad would you say are not good enough to be playing in a stable League 1 team?

The glib / stupid answer is that none of them are good enough. But really I think that it's not any of them as individuals that aren't good enough, but that the whole team taken together isn't good enough. If you took any one player & put them into a stable L1 team, they'd cope ok. Some more so than others. The whole problem is that we don't have a stable L1 team, so you're trying to make one out of odds & ends.

Tudgay and Burge. Many of the other players would thrive in a non-CCFC side. There is something sick about our environmant that 'infects' the players.

The only players I'd keep:

Keepers (They're not special but fine for league one)
Willis
Stokes
Rose
Jones (Will improve)
Stevenson
Sordell

I want to see George Thomas have one more extended chance before throwing him out.
I think you're being a bit generous here, but even then 'that's only 7 n' half players in our
Current squad good enough for League 1.
Things really don't look good do they,
Thankfully we have owners who care and will do all they can to stave off the inevitable relegation. ;)

Yeah, would pretty much agree with that.

Willis
Rose
Stokes
Stevenson
Sordell

bigi is better than rose imo. but would keep both for l1

not many others in current squad id wanna keep

that said new manager, better tactics and all of a sudden the players are vital to keep lol

Agree with that last line... Lameires would shine at another club / league / style - Probably the best technical player we have but least effective in this system.

Bigi is too mistake ridden for my liking. For every two things he does really well, he then buggers it up with a silly pass or terrible cross.

Rose is more of a steady Eddie. A good honest, hardworking pro for this level. Never going to pull up any trees, but I feel he is more consistent.

Bigi on the other hand I find frustrating.

this is where its all a matter of opinions... I think lameires is shocking ,saying that he always seems to play well against Sheffield utd..so would definitely play him tomorrow ..then drop him :)

up until a couple of seasons we used to have threads about which of our players were too good for League one !!!

Yeah, I prefer Rose to Bigi. It's a shame as he had about five MOTM awards in a row didn't he? He was great against Northampton in the Checkatrade, he really ran the show for that. Too inconsistent though.

players that try something special often get it wrong. but you need some of them or all you have is a team of steady eddies who would be mid table every year.

yes we are fighting relegation and midtable be nice now but at start of season every year we need to aim for top.

I said the same about Fleck last year but he is now our absent hero.
Will be interesting to see how he plays tomorrow

Lameries is dire. I'd be amazed if he gets another professional contract after this season.

At the moment I'd say Burge, RCC, McCann, Rose, Jones, Stevenson, Sordell and maybe Willis. Struggling after that.

Heard that Willis has had enough and will not be here after Jan. And no I am not prepared to name source, and yes I know I am stating the obvious.

Is there anyone associated with the club that hasn't had enough?

Sorry but have been saying for a year ,both keepers are not even conference standard, one can't catch or kick two pretty important assets for a decent keeper ,and RCC won't come off his line and puts the fear of God into his defence every opposing attack.
The others mentioned I agree with, bar Big who couldn't pass wind , and who the hell said Lameries needs his eyesight testing

It isn't individuals who are not good enough it's collectively they ain't With better players around them they'd be okay in this division but as a group no

I don't think Lameries ever has had a professional contract.

I'm being pedantic picking you up on that but to say he's "dire" is ludicrous.

If Lameries was used in the no 10 in a 4231 you'd see him at his best, like a few not being used correctly to full effect

I think he's terrible. He's work rate is shocking he actually has no pace no body strength no ability in front of goal. Other clubs will decide if he is a footballer or not if any contract offers come in.

His best position is out the team. He's rubbish
