Just trawled through some stats to put together some interesting points based on the last five seasons.

2010/11 season 43 points was required to be fourth from bottom.
2009/10 season 48 points
2008/09 season 47 points
2007/08 season 53 points
2006/07 season 43 points

Over the last five seasons our league record stands as WON 70 DRAWN 62 LOST 98 ( this season not included ).
We have been pretty consistent over these five seasons with a lot better squads than we have now.
We have 24 games left, so say for instance that we won one drew one lost one untill the end of the season. This would be better than our current form and any over the last five seasons.
This sequence of results would get us another 32 points which would give us a total of 45 points. This points total would only get us safe in two of the last five seasons.
As each game passes without a result the task of safety gets harder.

Conclusion there is only one way we can achieve safety this season is by getting 4-5 quality loan signings in asap !!!!!!!!

its took u all them stats to realise we are shit, even 4 or 5 wouldnt keep us up, we would need championship form to even stand a chance

Or we could also get a new manager in?

Just getting a new manager in isn't going to achieve the points tally required over our next 24 league matches not without the players also. The stats prove that even the experienced managers we have had over the last 5 seasons with better squads have not achieved the required level of form that we now need !!!!!!!!

Don't worry...

Igwe OnyaBike will sanction some quality premiership signings...

Only if he swindles some cash for mobiles back in Cayman Islands... i mean Lagos... oh... i don't know the difference :D

Yea we need more quality in but I think we also need a change of manager if we are to stay up.

Being serious...

If new owners came in and put cash in... we would have to get experienced Premiership player in upfront, in midfield and defence.

Then we might have a chance.

Would Thorn be the right man? Not sure...

I feel the current goings on has messed his head up.

5 players at 15k each a week is 300k per month which works out at between 1.2 million and 1.5million untill the end of the season.
Thats what we need, the players coming in would give everyone a lift it wouldn't take much to get some momentum going its not like we are getting battered 3 or 4 nill every week.
I am not saying that I think we would actually get these players in to give us a fighting chance it is just my opinion of what we need now.

I would get the players in first give AT three games with them to turn it round.

Thorn is a scout, not a manger, it would take a very good manager to get 30 points from 72 with any team that had just replaced the spine of a team that had managed 13 from 66.

Hmm, 3 or 4 quality signings? How about Westwood, King, Gunnarson and Turner? Get them in and there is proven evidence that we'd be OK-and under this manager! Maybe sign a fitness coach whilst we're bloody at it. Oh, and buy The Ricoh, why not. Meanwhile, back on planet Earth....

it would have been interesting to see where we were with at least 3 of those 4. We need ball park 50 points to aim for this season and we are not even close at the moment, we would need to turn into world beaters for the new year!!!

yeh thorn can manage a good team

but we are a bad team so we need a better manager, someone who can get bad teams to win

All I have done is used a few facts and figures and worked out a survival plan. I know currently Sisu don't have the inclination or funds to do this and this is my opinion what would be needed to give us a fighting chance.
The only other plans I have seen on here is lets sack the manager we couldn't do any worse !!!!

What quality players could be attracted to play for a team rock bottom of the Championship and all the issues around the owners? Surely the better ones would be advised to stay away.

I've been a manager before, for my Sunday village team and when i took over we were appalling, and thats being kind. i took them from the bottom to just above the bottom two in one season. I worked with no money,so i targeted local players who loved a drink on Sunday afternoons who used to be decent but could'nt be arsed with more serious proper saturday football.
All i did was buy them a drink after the match, but it worked though a little expensive for me, but could Thorny try this, its a lot cheaper than buying someone !!

Agreed, John, I wasn't having a pop..I started out by agreeing you and then fell into another ant-SISU rant! It's easy to do...all roads lead to their door.

Do we really need a miracle?
If big IF we got 2/3 players in and started to win games would the ethos of the team not change if this was done under a differant manager, not going to get into the whole AT thing but think he has had his chance and time for a change new tactics new player work ethics and fighting spirit.
As many have said we have not been thrashed by teams but I think the mood around the camp needs to change and I also think Harrison needs to move on as well and a whole fresh approach bought in.
Maybe then the players may start believing in themselves and start showing some pride because they are just going through the motions at the minute and waiting for summer to arrive so they can get away from what has happened and none of them, all the way from sisu down want to take resposibility for the mess we are in.

We need to hit a purple patch, for around 5-6 games and then sustain it for another 10-12 games.

So in a nutshell NO

Getting 3 or 4 quality players in to turn it around..that's the miracle bit, Ichan. We all know that will not happen under this lot.

The best thing is to resign ourselves to relegation as almost a certainty, to stay up we need to win 2 out of 3 games initially not impossible but improbable. Of those around us i would put Forest, Doncaster Bristol and Derby as ones to catch and there is usually someone drop from the middle, Watford ? and the real possibility of poor old Pompey being docked points. But i'm resigning myself to the third division anything else is a bonus

That I am afraid NLHWC is the bottom line we will not get even any half decent player never mind players in, and this is the stark reality of it all, and we can all almost predict what our end result will be this season, RELEGATION.
In reality every other club is fighting to keep out of the other 2 relegation places knowing that we will occupy the bottom of the league without a fight and a miracle will only allow us to make any kind of headway this season.
All we can really hope for is that sisu do one after the transfer window has closed after they sell any player they can to make any money back on, not nice but that I feel is the only thing they could still be holding out for.

But in reality who are sisu going to get decent money for Jutkewicz and who else, Cranie and Clingan are out of contract soon so little prospect of a lot of dosh for them, maybe Wood and thats, about all.

I realise that Elanor but as I have said before I think they will sell anyone anyone wants to buy from us regardless of what fee is involved, they have proved themselves they just do not care and any money to them will be better than nothing.
Craine and clingan will depend if any team wants to add something to their squad to add any depth for the final part of the season, otherwise will they just not bother anymore if they just wait until their contract expires but that is a differant thread that would need discussing seperatly from this one.

You not rate Keogh then? I put him as our best player by far IMO

a whole forward line of proper premiership footballers who need a proper run out till end of season (most prem clubs bench are ten times better than our lot so shouldnt have problem attracting quality or regular footie) and score ourselves out of the shit were in, 30 grand a week quality footballers shit or bust till end of may: total gamble for 4 players = 2.4 million quid sounds too bloody simple i know and 2.4 million reasons why shitsu wont go for it.
