But when your offering peanuts and trying to recruit for a club on the verge of collapse I didn't expect anything else.

But he knew what the budget was from the beginning of the summer. He was going after players we never had a hope in hell of getting at the same time of letting other players go.

Tony Mowbray failed big time with his summer signings one big mistake was letting Reda Johnson go before an adequate replacement was secured.

Still doesn't explain why he used his budget of peanuts amongst a league of peanuts he went after Lions and not Monkeys.

But we ended up with monkeys anyway. So what would have been different if we'd gone after monkeys in the first place? Not sure what point you're making. Ultimately we got the squad that you say we should have gone for in the first place.

Maybe, just maybe Fishers inflammatory comments were aimed at these rumoured investors in the wings, he never said we were not for sale in fact hinted Sepalla could be waiting for an acceptable offer and is able to hang on until there was one but did say he doesn't see a queue of wannabee owners out there doesn't mean there isn't one.

Didn't fisher say the hard work has been done. Almost like he was trying to attract interest to me. More interest the better price you will get no?

I agree with Torch about Phillips, but even more so about Martin. Typical CCFC - we nurtured him through a lot of bad performances, then once he started to look like a really commanding player in our league we disposed of him :(
I must admit that when he went, I thought TM must have some fantastic signings lined up. It wasn't to be, and that's why this season has been the worst I can remember.

This current crap squas could still win many a match under new mnager

Recruitment was bad. But poor manager at helm is the bigger problem imo

Totally agree, but I was trying to point out (not very well) if the buyer is who I have heard it is (that wording is for you SkyBlueRuffian), I would not like it rushed and would would take relegation and get the new owners in, over trying to rush it and it fall through.
I want to believe you, but find it very difficult as we've heard it all before, Dhinsa, Hoffman, Chinese consortiums, Big Sam, Haskell, Prince of Brunei etc etc, I will defiantly hold back my excitement for yet another rumoured take-over, thank you.

saving face is critical to them, i think this was how he tries to save face for sisu and chide the fans...using fear to stem the bad press they are getting. He said the investors wouldnt even know about the pitch invasion..i would suggest that is bull. Its like the chemical alli chap who ranted on live broadcast that no infidel amreican forces would ever get in to Baghdad and they were in no way losing the war blah blah ...in the background the american armoured division was driving past live on SKY news .....again, Hitler rhetoric, use fear to cower the populace while actually losing the battle / war.

I think we are in the beginnings of being taken over, I think Sisu are trying to stem further bad press by using fear.

The way fisher in a "i dont give a shit" manner said dont come we will cut the squad...well crack on son, nothing you havent done already. They are in the shit when they realise the debt...run us into the ground and we go out of business...what do they get back then?

I think there's really something in this.

Tim was addressing the fans, but why? He's unlikely to be winning any awards for community engagement anytime soon and he was/is never going to change public opinion of him. So why bother? To use his words - he was on a hiding to nothing.

Ignoring the fact he seemed to know everything and nothing about the situation depending on what the question was (one for another day)... and instead, focussing on the headlines:

- hard work has been done
- CCFC are profitable (?!) and require no investment
- players likely to be sold in January
- SISU have invested £70m (and might want a bit of it back)
- SISU can ride it out - "wouldn't you?"
- club aren't for sale (...at that price) / every club is for sale (...at the right price)

Could he have been talking to a potential buyer? Just his and SISU's style to flex muscle in public when private negotiations aren't going how they want them...

Of course - this assumes there is an interested buyer.

Great points. If I was fisher and sisu and clearly they have given up the ghost then why even bother doing talksport and BBC cwr. I wouldn't bother IF "the club is ticking over breaking even"

The fact he bothered and made two high profile interviews maybe suggests so. It suggests to me we have done the hard work now come in and take it off us for a realistic price and we all move on.

Fucking hope so anyway.

Do you think given a limited budget resigning Ricketts and Tudgay were sensible moves Tony?

No, we didn't get the squad did we as all of the decent monkeys were snapped up ;)

We ended up getting wingers in on trial when we didn't even play wingers. We signed 2 left wingers and about 6 or 7 strikers.

We should have gone for solid league 1 players in the first place or at least had a solid plan B after going for championship players failed.

I actually believe that companies will use radio & video footage of TF as an example to there senior management teams and how to NOT to direct there business in the future. I imagine the gasps & laughter on how this guy can bust a business and lose its customer base and continue to get away with it.

Believe me this guy doesn't have a clue.

what was missed is how fisher publically berated the current squad
given choice of A and B - mowbray chose B
who is he talking about Reid. sordell. gadzhev - the loans

either way - he wasnt instilling them with confidence

On the Talk Sport interview in the afternoon I'm sure he stated that every club is for sale, does this mean at the right price CCFC are too, in the past he has always stressed that the club is not for sale stating wave effects that you don't sell at the trough but at the crest so is stance does seem to of changed as we are now making money again if the 1million profit is to be believed.

you honestly can't see the relevance of that question in reply to Skyblue tonys post?
Course he can, if anyone other than our forums own panto villain had posted the question, then I'm sure tonylinc wouldn't have batted an eyelid.

assets are currently
playing squad
ryton
sell on fees - eg callum wilson
balance of this seasons season ticket money
golden share

i think in reality the sale price would be around £10m for a debt free club
one of the guys in the studio on the phone in suggested single figure millions to fisher and he didnt flinch

I think £10m would seal the deal
