I am having a problem with agreeing with anyone on how we now go forward.

I agree that we need to keep the pressure up. We need SISU to know that we will not take any more shite from them. But trying to force them out won't work. It will keep the pressure on them though. So how far do we take it?

To me we need to give it a rest for a few games. We have a good manager at our level that has just joined our club. He has been allowed to bring in players straight away. There are more to come. Some will also be leaving. I am actually feeling more confident as when TM arrived. We have someone used to this level and is changing things straight away. Protests could put players off joining us.

So what do we really want from our protests? Does everyone understand what I mean by this simple question?

Protesting won't get rid of SISU. They want and need money back. But keeping up the pressure on them will give us the chance of running us properly. A decent manager with a decent budget. And it isn't too late to make a charge up the table. There is still half the season to go. 6th place should be our aim. But not go shouting that it is or should happen. And constantly protesting would harm our chances.

I think that we should give our new manager and new players breathing space. Get behind our team. Give the away team the stick. Just like we did before we knew the troubles ahead. Start enjoying going to games again. And constantly protesting will only be enjoyable to a few.

I am not saying we should sing SISU's praises. Just we need a bit of calm now they seem to be doing the right thing. If we keep up with the protesting when they are doing the right thing why should they continue to do so? If they are going to continue to get us having a go whatever they do they might as well continue to take the piss out of us.

As effective as the protests V Sheffield Utd were, I do hope the next planned protest does not interfere with the match. Such protests need to be inventive and different each time. Otherwise the impact of them is diminished.

Completely disagree. Probably only the protests and the stick that Venus was starting to take that promoted a new manager search. Why have things suddenly changed? Their policy hasn't. To bring in the two Burton players Sordell had to go. Now that deal may improve the team. However wouldn't it have been a better sign of intent to keep Sordell as well? It seems very likely that either Willis or Stevenson or probably both will go in the next few days or weeks. If this was wheeling and dealing fair enough. However how much of the money will Slade realistically see? Very little I would think. To me the protests are about the club far more than the team. All of the underlying issues are still here. Legal action will presumably carry on, no negotiations on the Ricoh, academy, training ground. Then there is Fisher himself and the utter contempt with which he treats his "customers" and continues with the BS. Nothing has changed as far as I can see. If things simmer down then Fisher will have been proved fight " well there were no protests last year when we were doing well".

And I do believe that the signings we've made and are linked with are what we needed but I'm pretty sure 2 guys not getting in the Burton team, 1 not getting in the Bradford team and 2 league 2 players in Cox and Simpson are on bang average league 1 salaries and are hardly breaking the bank.

Well I can understand them not wanting to make things too public. If they can be 'prepared' for they will have less impact. Hopefully when they do announce, it will be done in a way that is accessible to all.

The problem is that some protests may be hampered if the "authorities" know what will happen. That said, I heard on the radiio on the way down to Charlton about the pig protests. Stewards knew as they were searching people on the way in and asking if you had any pigs. (A question I never thought I would ever be asked going into a game). Some things it is hard for them to stop. I am sure Tim has heard about the 75th minute idea and will be wondering about it, probably hoping it is nothing to do directly with him. (Maybe it is Tim!). On the basis that he maybe is concerned, good!

I agree with Astute.
I don't think SISU/TF are really that bothered by the protests, in fact, from what I've seen TF appears to love it, he loves the agro, he's a troll. At Posh on Saturday he could've sat anywhere he wanted and keep his head down instead he sat in full view lapping it up.
He's a typical business man parasite, doesn't produce anything, doesn't do anything worthy and whenever I hear him talk he just comes accross as a low grade waste of Space who likes to rub people up the wrong way for fun.
But, SISU will not go, they are running us self sufficiently and waiting, Fisher said it himself. That's how it is.
London Wasps are in financial trouble and football will always make a shed load more money than rugby.
They're waiting to see what happens and from a business point of view it makes total sense.
Get that ground and cov together and anything is possible.
I think we should definitely keep up the protest pressure, things are not right, selling the training ground for housing is particularly disturbing, i want them gone as much as anyone else.
Let's protest but not to the extent where we alienate the football world and damage ourselves. The pigs were great and I hope ans suspect whatever happens at todays match will be in that style.
Let's face it, Sisu are revolting but they've hired a decent manager and from what I saw when he approached the fans after Saturday's game he also appears to be a decent bloke. He's been allowed to bring in good characters and is targetting what sound like just the kind of players we need.
Let's get behind the team and push on.

Yeah I think this is a great idea too. But it will be a combination of efforts that wear them down.

What you can do is to tailor the protests dependant on the situation. Therefore, as today is a new manager, new team, you can make it low key and try and cause as little disruption to the game as possible.

Something like hiring a plane to fly over with a Sisu out banner on etc. That wouldn't disrupt play, but would be noticed. I am not saying necessarily that. That would work, but there are ways you can protest without affecting the actual game.

Post game, half time or full time are obvious choices. If it is something in the 75th minute or whatever, then today could be a chorus of whistles, banners, walk out etc. I am not advocating any of those, or suggesting they will necessarily work, but just wanted to point out that there are things you can do that are more low-key and won't affect the game itself.

I don't think you can just switch off the protests like turning a tap off and on. After Sheff Utd people will be expecting a protest and the media will have an eye out for it too.

I don't want us to risk what could be a good thing just to have a demonstration that isn't even in front of the cameras.

Nobody has control on what happens during a demonstration. The last one where we went on the pitch went well. It was friendly. Nobody got arrested. But all it takes is one pissed up idiot (I like a good drink before a game) to do the wrong thing. Then all sympathy is lost.
