I think some people need to realise that we weren't always a Div 1 / Premiership team.

We are where we are, and it's where we used to be.

We are in a competition that is appropriate to our status.

I don't mind any supporters or non-supporters going to a Wembley Final as long as current supporters get first dibs at tickets. I can't see there being a shortage.

Warwick Uni students union are offering a ticket to Wasps v Toulouse for a tenner with free transport there and back! Tickets for all other games this season for a tenner too. A good way of generating interest but certainly a loss leader.

Not personal mate but what's the suprise there? Wasps are a middle class franchise, targetting Tory voting wankers from Kenilworth, Leamington and Warwickshire. They aren't interested in appealing to Coventry City supporters or people from our impoverished city.

Would much prefer to give £10 to charity than paying £10 to be surrounded by 2 Skiing holidays a year, Jack Wills wearing, trust-funded nonces.

Just think on the day you would get wrapped up in it all.

Can you just imagine 30,000-40,000 City fans all singing on in unison at Wembley stadium?

I think it would bring a lump to the throat.

it might also show any perspective buyer the clubs potential.

Let's calm down a bit we haven't got there yet. I recall the Crewe fiasco and we all thought we were home and dry before that game. I hope we do get to Wembley more for our younger fans,as I was there in 87 but our young supporters have had sod all have they.We were talking about it in the pub before the Bolton game,if we got to the final everyone would want to go as its a day out,in fact arrangements are already being made for the away game at MKDons !

wise words BBR.

Earlsdon is basically a suburb of London these days. My daughter goes to Earlsdon Primary and lining up its all London accents from the parents.

Place isn't the same as where I grew up. :(

And Coventry

And Rugby.

I spent a rather sad half hour typing the first half of post codes into Google Maps to see where they cover the other day.

Yeah, 30000 party time dickheads turn up once every 30 years.

Edit: not entirely serious

I think you're overlooking the 28K or so that were so made up over the return to the Ricoh that 10K of them decided to pay their first and last visit to the stadium to watch ccfc. Presumably, the same 10K to hit on the blaze show and have since become avid followers of the bladder.

when of course you could have gone straight to Wikipedia CV postcode area - Wikipedia

Me, perfectly okay with the fact that my house in Earlsdon is now nearly 10X the price it was when I bought it in 87. And the good thing about London/Sufflok folk is that they have nice cars, so are less likely to scrap yours on the way to the daily (professional) grind.

And of course we'll soon have a football club on our doorstep.

I moved away from earlsdon a year and a half ago and my dad still lives there. It's the same old characters in all the boozers. Especially now the city arms has got new owners and everyone is allowed back in.

Just call it as I see it. As someone who also grew up in Earlsdon and is there daily, you're talking shite. Maybe it's just her class but huge amounts of Londoners including my daughter's best mate. The whole character of the place has changed IMHO (that better?) all started when the City Arms changed.

Only 59 mins on the train to London, so you can see why some might see it as attractive to come here. Much cheaper housing and prices and so many Londoners I talk to talk much longer to get to their place of work than I do from Coventry to London.

Went of a course with someone a while back and they said it took them almost 2 hours to get from one side of London to the other and they couldn't believe I go to London in less than an hour.

sorry, my mistake, I was talking about the area as a whole where as you were using the more accurate barometer of one primary school class and the City Arms!

I think Earsldons a better place to live now than it used to be though it was a great place to grow up. But I'm a lazy sod so it's convenient location is a big plus for me.

Yup, I can be in Westminister within 75 mins.

I'm a season ticket holder and I've not been yet. I might go to the next round if we're at home. I would definitely go to the semi final and final if we got there.

I feel no guilt at all. They've made a crap competition even worse this season, but I won't be missing us play at Wembley if we make it. A long way to go yet though.

I'm a season ticket holder for both CCFC and Wasps and I'll be going with no guilt whatsoever.
Just need to make sure I take the right hat, scarf and gloves. ;)

I have no intention of going to any game in this competition until it suits me.
As others have said, those who have supported through thin and thinner, season ticket since early 70s in my case, are owed so much by this club after the crap way we have been treated and the bilge we have endured, we are owed big time
In my case I was unable to get a ticket in 87 because many of us were misled into thinking their crappy vouchers plus semi and quarter final tickets would guarantee us a final ticket. Then they gave and sold thousands to glory hunters and hangers on. So, no, I feel no guilt about waiting for Wembley then claiming as many as my 2 season tickets will get me. I will take my whole family, neighbours, milkman and paper boy, if I feel like it, since they owe me.
... and breathe... rant over

ooh, that's a point. This may be the very first time when I sell a ticket above face value.

Why is it something to be embarrassed about or own up to?

Trophies dog shit and I hate the format and think it highlights how little they give a fuck about lower league teams.

Still love a big crowd at a cov game and will be there when there is.

How embarrassing would it be if we still got 2000 in the final. Or only 8000 if we drew Chelsea away on a cup next year. Same people would be bitching then that it's embarrassing and "glory supporters" still couldn't be bothered

There will be more than enough tickets for everyone I would have thought.

Nowt to be embarrassed about and I wouldn't even give anyone any stick for being NOPM but then going to the Wembley game.
