Would we have beaten Fleetwood with a better surface? I somehow doubt it. Admittedly it was bad and it does need sorting, but both teams on Saturday had to cope with it.

Bloody egg chasers!!

It looked rough before kick off, and if truth be told not really been brilliant since the Rugby League world cup games. I do have to wonder why it was reported on though...

PR to say how great it is they are trying to fix a shite pitch?

Being really concerned about the state of the pitch at this time of year is a relatively modern phenomenon. In the 60s, 70s and 80s pitches were in far worse shape (even at the top level). Derby's baseball ground being one of the worse...a real quagmire with no grass at all. Even highfield road goal mouths were real mudheaps with the ball often sticking. The wings got cut up easily and the centre circle at times not really playable. I'm not advocating a return to those pitches but I don't think the Ricoh is as bad as that although it is certainly less good than the first few winters we played there.

But we just won a game on a pitch that is worse then ours.
Maybe they should leave it, afterall it's good enough for the long ball game;)

SW88 hinted it had been relaid in the Match thread.
Has it or have I misunderstood?

The pictures after the last game there suggested the centre part was being relaid. Could see today a difference in shade in said area, yet the same brown area where the grass looked to have died since the rugby logo thing was put down for one of the rugby games remains, which is odd. Wasn't a complete relay of the pitch but I was expecting more than what we seen.

The ball was bouncing horribly in more areas than the area that had been worked on.

If we can't blame the tennis balls / throwers, can we blame the pitch? ;)

Didn't work that well, let's hope it doesn't rain before Tuesday.
Apparently it's going to rain all day on Monday . :wacky:
Weather up date, it's going to rain Monday Night ! And not stop until Tuesday pm.

Is Italia about?

If so, are you going today?

Please do us a favour and report back on the state of the pitch at the end of the game would you. :)

Thanks.

As long as the air is clear we will be alright as Slade doesn't use the grass
